Bought this car last week. Really happy with it. Handling is best iv cpme across and straight line acceleration is on par with a v8 m3. Pdk box is first auto iv ever bought and it's lightning fast. My car has the standard r bucket seats, this car in review has the no cost option to swap the buckets for the standard s sports seat. Sitting in the bucket seats it makes the whole experience a lot more involving. Yeh I guess I could have saved a few grand getting an s but I wanted mine to come factory finished with everything I wanted on it.
I'm sorry but that's simply not how this car stuff works. Using your example, if we reviewed a 2012 Golf but labeled it a 2008 some dude like yourself would complain when we mentioned the adaptive bi-xenon headlight option, which wasn't offered in 2008. KBB, along with every other media outlet, would identify the Cayman R in this video as a 2012. That's not cheating, or even trying to cheat. That's accurately describing which model year vehicle we drove.
Should I then assume the window sticker I'm looking at for a 2012 Guards Red Porsche Cayman R (as seen in this video) is a fake? I assure you the car I drove on camera was a 2012 and it is indeed real. Also real, Google. Try "2012 Cayman R". Cheers, Micah
well, how it used to work is that serious car magazines used to review cars at launch date, and then didnt review them again if the whole difference was a slight change in the options list
of course there are 2012 makes, just as there are 2012 make golf VIs, although the golf VI was launched in 2008. you still call it a 2008 golf VI, not a 2012 golf VI, because it is a car from 2008, not from 2012 the cayman R was launched, i googled it now, in early 2011. it has not changed since then. so it is a 2011 cayman R. if you call it a 2012 cayman R you're misleading your viewers into thinking you reviewed a new model of cayman, thus you're basically cheating for more viewership
The GT500 is better in a straight line, but it's nowhere nearly as good as this car as far as handling. And Nick is full of shit, it takes a while until you reach 200 mph in the car.
4:27 "Options make the price tag swell like Oprah at Thanksgiving" Really Kelly Blue Book? I assume someone in marketing actually authorized this script. Do they still work there? Seriously disappointed, terribly distasteful.
Yeah, I agree with worldofwilfred. Oh yeah! Hey, Oprah gets fat at thanksgiving. That's! ... not funny. You do a fantastic job except for more than half of what you say.
"Nothing is like charging up a mountain road with the flat-6 singing" There is no such thing as a "flat-6 singing!" The ONE bad thing about a horizontally opposed 6 cylinder engine is that it NEVER sounds good. At best it sounds like a low-rent V6 winding out-

"Options make the pricetag well like Oprah at thanksgiving" Thats just cold

KBB has the best reviews
Yeah... sweating in a Porsche... no thanks. I'm going to have to ask you to go ahead and leave that ac unit please...
Good review!!! Good job!!! I guess the only way to find out if you would buy this car would be test driving it then...
whats slip differential? Is it good or bad?
which is better ? audi ttrs or porsche cayman r ?
So...way more money for the power increase of a cold air intake and u get no door handles??
Germans have a strange sense of humor.
@Kevin Taing SLD reacts better at breaking, cornering. basically LSD is better than open diff. But the OEM one on Porsche doesn't last very long.
why review this now when the new cayman will come out soon after the new boxter?
Very enjoyable review, that's one job that must not be very hard to get up in the morning for...
did he say oprah at thanksgiving...?
base cayman is enough
this reviewer is great!

sorry, R is a number?
Fun review. Thanks.
that oprah joke was a bit much
don't worry the next model will be ruined by Porsche, like the rest of their line up.
How's the resale value on these? Not as good as 911's I'd think
Travis Wang no Cayman r's really hold value. A bargain compared to the loss in value to other models
The 911 resale value is not as good as a Ferrari.
nice summary.
Nice! 2013 Genesis coupe next?
oh and great review. that lightweight stuff must contribute to the good mpg
Micah, ur awesome, dude.
tasteless oprah joke... your better than that, keep it professional
good video
To sum it all up, if your rich, by this for your wife! And when no ones looking, drive it yourself XP
if only it came with all those options without costing so much extra
Why wouldn't you just get a 2013 mustang gt500 that goes 200mph, has a v8 that screams, and looks better.
Lil late with the Cayman R review huh KBB?
This should be kbb R.
truly disappointing, but most people don't know the specs on these cars so they see it and omg it, little do they know, its not super car status.
I agree what he said about Oprah swelling. She is my neighbor.
2:05-2:15 lmao
Some serious track vehicles are not even street legal:) and have no passenger seat.
the no handles is a shame haha
cranked up by a mind blowing. 10 ;lolololoolol
nice
lmfao! i loved with review. oprah...lol
For that much it's cheaper to

So profitiert VW vom Porsche-Deal
Or you save 2 lbs by losing weight.
Well thats a waste of money

Wow, total rip off compared to the Cayman S
