Hunter, thanks for sharing your getaway. Not only will you make movies someday, I think your words are important for everyone looking to be their best selves. I'm feeling better today just because.
Hunter, man... I think the quality of your craftsmanship with your story telling is impeccable, I have no doubt that you could one day make a film... but I also wouldn't undersell the amazing story telling and cinematic style you bring to the "automotive" space. It is truly something special that you bring besides the same, old automotive tropes... keep being you man... side-note, also a serial gym rat... and the best thing I done to remove the monotony of "body building" style lifting, was joining a "crossfit" style gym... still train 6 days a week... but everyday is different and I dont have to think about anything other than lifting...
It's bizarre hearing someone else express emotions and thoughts I've had for years so eloquently, with such great cinematography. Stuck in a routine, not able to clear your head, always wanting more, and not being present. It's tough.
I always found activities like snowboarding are the best way to sync with "the now". It's the marriage of gravity forces, friction, flow, and split second decisions that directly impact your survival. There's not much room for thinking about projects, finances, time wasting, etc. That's just one example but there are plenty of different ways to achieve that state of being. If you master it you can simply sit, and be. You don't need to try to be someone else. Simply be.
Man I really should try snowboarding. I am able to ski but I haven't gone enough to get good at it. I live super close to a number of mountains though! I love the sentiment on it you mention!
@@HunterDirection 100% man. I used to ski when I was younger but when I moved to Vancouver and tried snowboarding the first time I was hooked, but not good at it. With the mountains so close I got a cheap(er) season pass buying pre-season to have the freedom to go every day. Only thing I love more than driving.
^ so much this. Scuba diving was mine. Too busy balancing the factors needed to stay alive in the moment to think of anything else much less worry about it. You're very conscious of this balancing act initially but after a while it becomes almost subconscious and you're just there doing the do and you focus more on the scenery than the process. I did find the same applied with certain martial art forms but it's a totally different feeling and state of mind and a very different learning curve.
Hi man! i´ve been following you since you were around 1500 subs more or less.. and i love the attention to details that you always do but, since a few months ago each video that you make is giving me anxiety.. the continous overthinking on everything is killing me. If you´re living each day of your life like this, maybe it would be a good idea to reach a doctor so you can manage your thoughts and live without anxiety or stress or whatever it is. I´ve been in a depression a few years ago and the continous overthinking that i see. in your videos, reminds me of those awful days that thankfully have passed. Love your work, and i hope that you´re not having a bad time in your head.. the brain is a tricky bastard! Cheers from Andorra! 🇦🇩
@@FranRuiz hey I really appreciate the comment and the concern. These videos are written intentionally with that narrative. Generally the plot for each of them is overcoming whatever gripe is stuck in my mind at that time. (IE starting anxious and through the video content learning to be ok with it) or in this one about living in the moment and accepting individuality. I see all my videos as artistic expression more than traditional vlogs or anything like that haha. They are an exaggerated reality, not a true reality. The intention is for it to be relatable to people who also struggle with anxiety, self doubt, etc. I think showing people that nobody's ever alone with feelings like that is something that's not done enough.
I've been where you are now! You don't have to change you just need to be comfortable with being you!😀 You make awesome videos some of the best on TH-cam the quality and the way you edit just keeps my attention and that says a lot!! Keep up the good work And if you for some reason some day comes to Sweden just let me now i can show you swedish car culture Best regards from the VAG nerd
@@Carsofminnesota I was hoping to pick up an Ursa Pro 12k but that was a lil out of reach for now. So instead I grabbed a Blackmagic cinema camera 6k FF so I can start collecting professional lenses. It's wild how expensive film gear is haha.
Very.... uh...hmm... wonder views and alot of words that really make me think about myself. Thank you for another great video. Even if it wasn't about a car. Looking forward to your next work/episode.
Ok so 1. I love your watch collection 2. I couldn't agree more with you on the "don't try to be someone else, just try to be the best YOU you can be" (going through that phase at 35 yo lol) and 3. your videos just keep getting better. Keep it up!
I’ve thought, that I’ve missed an upload and my treat, but here you are! Thank you for this masterpiece. Is there any chance you have a playlist with ost from your videos? Your chouise of music is awesome
you may not have come up with screenplay ideas, but the shit you put out are mini-movies anyhow. In an ever expanding "short attention span", "doom scroll" society we live in your productions are a breath of fresh air, and I can say as someone that can't concentrate on one single thing for long, you always seem to have my attention for the whole video. Please never stop making stuff. Hope you got some good rest on vacation. There's never going to be a complete answer to what makes one happy, some in the now, some in the planned structure. Try making plans for days off (block of time with no responsibilities) and then do something spontaneous. In your mind try to book it as productively doing nothing. "Nothing" has to be done too for mental health. Workaholic me hates the idea of it, but as I age I have to come to terms with it. as always, much love to you broski.
As always love your videos. Also, from the music selections I've heard if you haven't checked out Plini before you should. A good start that has similar feel as some you've used across your content would be Selenium Forest. To being present!
You can use that drip of water to help flush your mind, focus on the drip till the rhythm flushes out the thoughts.. then from there the cadence of the drip should slowly fade to the back of your “brain and right out of your mind” … not an expert and very bad clearing my own mind😅 but figured I’d comment for the algorithm and try to be helpful. ( you should take at least 1 day a week where it’s not weights, cardio or something light so your body has a better chance to recover and help build..but you can clearly tell you workout💪🏼
That's a great point! Use the environment in an effort to be present! Also yeahhh I fell out of habit with taking a rest day a long time ago and I think it would be so hard to go back to one😅 my split is pretty optimized for my week such that I've got a number of less intense functional recovery days at least. But even that puts me pretty close to under recovering haha
Amazing trip!! Glad you shared it with us!

I love that you clearly make Vlogs that you are inspired to make, not just vlog styles that are currently popular or a trend etc.

Great video as usual, love your style and "vulnerability" in the introspective.

Good film. Thanks for sharing.
Great video man! Camera quality is amazing. Glad you got yourself away from daily life and got to travel. Hawaii looks amazing!
