"Imagine any other major company need four weeks to ship out one small plastic part"
Two points. 1: They sold out, it happens. Imagine if they were making them in China or somewhere and they were on the slow boat around the world - could have been _months_ delay! It's not like they manufacture this model continuously. It's expensive sure, but it's very very low volume. Maybe they normally only run the production for it twice a year.
2: This happens depressingly often with parts for cars and electricals... "What do you mean the nearest part is in Italy and it's going to take 6 weeks to get here? My boiler is broken, it's mid winter and I'm freezing"

  • @Cerviathrax

hello, computer repair technician here with a comment on replacement part turnaround.
most if not all laptop manufacturers do not have replacement parts at all for new product lines, sometimes for up to 6 months after launch. I have seen warranty units sit on my shelf or at depot for months with little info on when parts will be produced and made available. to be clear, we are an official warranty repair center for these brands, they direct their customers to bring their computers to is. this is for brand new high-end systems that often cost a good bit more than $2k. bear in mind, the products are often used by customers for work; because of that, many people cannot go without a laptop for more than a few days without a considerable negative impact on their livelihood.
further, even if parts are in stock, if you are ordering parts from a manufacturer based in Taiwan (msi, Acer, etc), and there are no parts available domestically (or it's under warranty and you have to order directly from the manufacturer), they ship parts from Taiwan **by BOAT** . it takes a month minimum to arrive where I'm located.
what I'm getting at is, these kinds of issues are logistical, the problems persist across many industries and affect companies much larger and more profitable than GW.
    just a little context.

It takes them 4 weeks to cast this one piece because they have to make sure it's absolutely perfect with zero issues with the mold. Afterall, this is forgeworld we're talking about, quality control to their level takes time.
Nobody has ever bought anything from forgeworld and had issues with the model and certainly nobody has asked for a replacement piece, only to have that replacement piece be just as fucked up as the piece it was replacing.

I order OOP stuff from a shop in the USA that have a shipping option that bypasses all the major North American freight carriers and their fees and tariffs (not saying shipping is free but this is their most cost effective shipping). Now I live in Canada, literally right across the border from where the stuff is shipping from. I could drive there and get it but that would cost more than shipping with gas prices, wear and tear on the vehicle, and time out of the other things I could be doing. So, getting to how this relates, this shipping option takes a little detour THROUGH SWEDEN to go from the USA to Canada, and that has NEVER taken FOUR WEEKS! Sorry for your pain Emil. I used to work at one of the GW retail stores and even as an employee I had to wait a loooooong time for a personal order that I made for a massive amount of metal minis to get picked and sent. Worth the wait but still frustrating.
One more thing, having been sick for the last 6 or 7 weeks myself, I wish you all the best in your recovery. Please, take it easy and get better, Emil. We need your content here, it is one of the BEST!

@@TheThewhatnow so the titans were free. Value and what you pay for something are completely different things. They traded up to the titans, they didn't make a video series saying "we bought 2 titans"
If everyone paid the value of something, there would be no second hand car market...for example

    • @TheThewhatnow
      @TheThewhatnow ปีที่แล้ว

@@yanceyboyz In every video they make about the project, they make a big deal of telling the audience about how much these titans are worth, or have you not watched any of their videos? They spent months trading up models and armies to get to this point, you are basically saying the whole diorama is worthless and all that work is worthless, i guess you think they should just sell it for 0$ and make nothing for charity? It’s such a strange hill to die on. If they decided to just straight up sell the parts that went into making the diorama before starting the project, then that is the value of the diorama, and choosing not to sell the parts is the “cost” of making it, it’s not a hard concept to grasp. The end result will probably be worth far more then that to a collector.

You should definitely do more videos like this. It was great watching you do stuff you wanted to do and not be worried about stuff. Getting back to the roots great video, keep them coming.

Go get that break! Real talk, I could watch you convert and paint whatever. Love the dioramas of course, but this was one of my favourite videos in a long time.

Don't get tired! Keep having fun doing those videos and take the time you need 🙂
Also, i like video like this with several little projects, some painting, some conversion, without the need to create the uber iper biggest-than-all project all around; if you put your hearth on those, they are as good as the biggest projects!!

It's a special blessing when you're burned out from something you love, but your rehab is actually doing that thing you love. Paint on, Maestro.

Please keep taking care of your wellbeing… its easy to take for granted. Anyway, warm greetings from Utrecht, the Netherlands ! Cheers 😙

The big projects are cool, but I love just watching you paint small things, so no complaints here!

Please keep the breaks from the mega-epic projects coming, as much as you need. As a pretty regular viewer, I am just happy to see you pop up in my feed. Whether you're painting the coolest new GW sculpt or making a Battletoads diorama, I think most of us will be tuned in. Don't let burnout win!

Would be awesome to see you guys showcasing your minis and facilities in more detail in some videos! If you feel crushed by schedule, you could even drop a battle report kinda videos time to time as well. Im sure people would love see you Emil and Lucas rolling some dices!

Always make time for yourself! Burning out or over working can be a killer. Trust. Time is needed for all of us to regenerate lost time and energy. Time with loved ones and family to appreciate everything you have.

I don't know if this has already been said but the large forgeworld kits are only made to order, so they would not have any spare parts for a warlord sitting around (although you'd have to wonder what happened to the missing part did it get cast or left out..) I have been to the HQ a couple of times and the store will only stock a few of the smaller kits and such

Don't burn yourself out! We love your content and the quality at which it is made, and that will be affected if you push yourself too hard. I have so much respect for what you guys do for the community, and the fun you have for yourselves putting these huge projects and dioramas together. Much love ❤️

I'm not sure I understand : you are apologizing to us for spending what is basically an extended week end doing the stuff that actually got most of us hooked to your channel in the first place, instead of your super-epic Warlord Titan project?
    More of this please !
I love seeing your epic dioramas evolve but what I enjoy even more is when you paint your stuff with a big smile and share it with us.
