Maybe it's just my weird taste in vehicles, but to me, this is a beautiful vehicle. I'd like to see it tested head to head with the Mercury Marauder.

The same setup was available as an option on the Buick Roadmaster. For those that wanted a Corvette and a Cadillac, and were willing to compromise a bit on both.

My 96 Buick Roadmaster sedan is pretty good. It's not the quickest, fastest, most nimble, or most comfortable. But it's got a pretty close to perfect combination of all those with just the right amount of compromise. My only complaint is the leather seats. If the velour from the 80s was available it would be perfect

Always loved that this big, fat, heavy sedan was named after an animal that is small, lightweight, lean and streamlined. :P

Kind of a shame when a modern Suburban is quicker. This was such a great car in its day. I remember when the Marauder came out in '03, and I wanted both of them in a race so bad.

There's enough go-fast bolt on parts out there, so that it can move faster than a modern Suburban (save maybe the 6.2L V8).

$ 23,000! I would buy one right now! Gladly I still have a '95 Roadmaster,. One owner and 68k Miles. Still virgin and runs like a Swiss watch.

Everyone cries when Chevy doesn't build the car they want but when they do they cry and say it costs to much but they go and pay double for foreign car ... they want Americans quality for cheap Chinese prices now the Chinese are jacking up the price for junk the quality is getting better and Americans going down... that carvis better than the 740i

I had a 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood with the same engine as the Impala SS. I think it was under-rated at 260hp, it felt A LOT faster. That old Cadillac would run circles around any 5.3 V8 late model Suburban(they are both about the same overall length).

Thrse were nice, but man, they didn't hold up. You dont see hardly any of these in on the road anymore. Though slower the Crown Victoria turned out to be a much better car, at least they held up alot better.

They have held up well if taken care of. I had a 94SS for almost 30 years, and still have a 95SS to this day. Yes, I had two at the same time for many years.

It would outrun the Mustang of the same year in top speed. The similar Buick Roadmaster would out-acccelerate the same Mustang 0-60. Smooth riding, comfortable, safe family car you could take a vacation in or pull a boat to the lake.

    • @melrose9252

Did you try it against a Mustang with a V 8? I doubt it.

@@melrose9252 Please lookup motortrend issues in 1994 for tests of the Mustang GT, Mustang Cobra, Impala SS and Buick Roadmaster. The SS beat the Cobra in top speed, the Roadmaster beat the GT 0-60. Back when I cared I saved the magazines and showed people because it was funny that a full size family car could beat a pony car
