Ohh it was so lovely seeing Zainab on this platform after a long time, the last time you brought her was when she was single, I remember watching that interview vividly. I just want to thank Zainab for raising awareness about endometriosis because a lot of people have been suffering in silence. My friend had it when we were in school and every time we went to see a doctor, she was told to deal with the pain.
Zainab has a really tough personality she wouldn’t talk beyond her work and looks . Kudos to her sharing her struggles with endometriosis.

Mirena IUD works for me. It’s not the best option for those planning to start a family but it takes away 90% of the pain. Hope this helps someone.

Is better not to have surgery cos it makes it very worse I, know cos my daughter is going through it and I wish she didn't have the surgery but, because I live in London I don't have a say cos my daughter was 17 years old at the time. Two surgery hmmmm the pain she's going through I wish I can carry the pain for her
I had this! Got healed in 2020 found out four days before giving birth that I was pregnant. Suffered severe PPD.

It’s a shame that it was not a topic discussed . A lot has to do with crazy African pastors saying symptoms of endometriosis was linked to having spirit husbands. Infact knowledge is power. Thank god for internet, we cannot be tossed through and fro by every wind of nonsense teaching .

We have a culture where we expect women to be "flawless"
I think we actually expect all humans to be flawless.
I was ruminating just yesterday on "insensitive" we are as a people and how that behaviour has become normal - I noticed from quite a young age that we generally laugh at people's ailment (mental and physical) literally so it makes people hide whatever ails them. I think it is the height of insensitivity.
I shook off that behaviour because my mom will always say "if you hide a wound, it won't heal and a lot of things may go bad too".

David Olujinmi...the pain can make one suicidal. The reduced quality of life, endless bleeding, the pain, several tests and medication before and after the diagnosis. It's endless

Depression,painful sex,reduced social life,time off work,difficulty peeing,stabbing pain…Shall i go on?.That is how it affects mental health as some days you have had enough and want to end it all.
It has no complete cure just pain management.
There is also infertility ,recurrent surgeries and stage 4 is a Monster when it has fused into the other organs.

This is why life is so complicated...So your own health depends on peoples talk, really. So if you do a surgery and you die, you think they will follow you in your grave. Despite the love you share with someone, he will not being buried with you even your children, eh...Think about your own life...Let people talk. The so called in laws...sometimes they are very toxic people. I pray to not be a nuisance for my children...They don't learn like this, all the children needs to have their own experiences in marriage, not guiding by familly who sometimes want to transfer their bitterness to you...
