People start to get really weird when they accumulate that type of wealth. Badminton over the dining table? Servers wearing big shag rugs? Do people actually want all of this? It seems like once people reach a certain level of wealth, they get bored and start to see who can be the most outlandish and out do the other.....

One thing: BMW i8 is not a supercar, its not standing out and its not really fast, a Ford Focus RS for half the price is faster

I won't disagree that the i8 is an odd choice of car to show off as a "supercar", but the whole point in a town like Monaco is turning heads. Speed is irrelevant when you're barely cracking 30km/h around town. You show up in a Focus and you just look like the guy who cuts the billionaire's lawn.
Vyndil agree i would definetly take an i8 over a Focus RS but the guy filming said the i8 was fast and was standing out, in Monaco a BMW i8 is not really standing out

The i8 Roadster is fancy and very futuristic but it's not really fast for that price. It starts at 155.000 euros and a Mercedes-AMG GTC starts at ca. 150.000 euros. So it's actually really shitty for that price.
Adromedox i live in a small town with 60k residents and not a lot of super cars/sport cars although its a lot of cayennes and panameras and such, but i dont turn my head when a i8 drive past me and im over average interrested in cars
No that's because you're interested in cars, I won't turn my head either, but to these people, it's design language is pretty much the same as the rest of the supercars so they assimilate i8 with the rest
I was there 2 weeks ago and it was incredible! I could stay hours in front of the Casino de Monte Carlo and just watch the cars that are pulling up

back in 1985.... I was 21 yrs old and spent 11 weeks traveling around Europe.....when we got to Monaco the cost of backpacking around got very expensive and quick too....* the casino would not let us in wearing our backpacks....

Visited last year. We loved it. Don't be put off, thousands of service workers have to live there too so there are inexpensive places to eat and drink. Stay a few streets away in France where the accommodation is very reasonable. There are nice parks, views, buildings and beaches. You can walk everywhere and see all them and the ritzy cars and boats for free. Public transport is cheap and good. If you dress up just a little at the Casino they will love you for it as they get swamped with cheap tour groups. Don't just leave it to the rich, get in there.

I do have a yacht but I wouldn’t classify it as a “super yacht” it’s a 95 foot long pearl 95 which cost me 5M is huge for me but to most people in Monaco would think it’s tiny I’ve actually docked my yacht there once cost me £3,500 it’s lovely there if you have money go it beautiful but extremely expensive and also it just so happens to be my car I brought over there for the day was my 1974 Dodge Monaco so yeah kinda fits the place the cars name

Seems legit but it is more common for rich friends to share a private owned airfield near the city and travel with a helicopter to their main superyacht. Then they use their speedboat to travel to the casino and their they eat and talk things through.

All those famous people you mentioned. They are small fish in the sea of rich people. Rihanna has world fame, and everyone knows who she is, and she weighs at 250 mill USD. And then you have some unknown businessman from Croatia who sold his milk and dairy company for 280 mill EUR, and only 10 years ago he was nobody. I can't even imagine how many rich people are there. Most people say they don't care about money, but I imagine most of us would still love to feel rich lifestyle!

I was in Monaco for 17 days. It is only a reputation that all are rich. Most people are not. The state gives them flats for free and 2000 euros. But how can you live for 2000 euros there? Only some peole who are not monagasques, who are residents..They are rich.

I've been to the casino in the morning and tour around the floor myself but I totally missed that secret door!
These kind of things never made me feel jealous.
I love money, don't get me wrong, but I would never throw it away like these people. I dream about renovating an big old farm with my partner and make it our kingdom. I would have all kinds of projects lying around to keep me busy. Like some oldtimers I can restore, lots of animals and a mancave building in the yard.
Also the small village where I would live would be upgraded. The local shops would get a renovation and the local school would get all new material. Things like that.
I don't understand why you would take your money and go to monaco, buy a 150k watch or pay xxxxx€ for a room for a night. Looks nice, but nothing for me.
