The Code 1159 Perpetual Calendar with the aventurine dial is a beautiful watch. The name is stupid but I would take that watch over most versions of the Royal Oak.

Bluesy is a great value at $14k, which is $25k less than the full gold reference. The blue dial is spectacular and much better looking with its sunburst dial than the Smurf. It’s like the hulk in blue. The Godfather is truly a work of art.
I hate that I love my two tone Sea Dweller black dial, I like it better than the blue dial Submariner (I’ve also lived in Miami and know the Cuban culture lol), and I always preferred two tone over solid gold 🤷🏻♂️ I can afford solid but it’s too flashy for me, even in Rose.

That was brutal but somehow there was a certain degree of truth to it. The Rolex and the Laureato skeleton are nice in person, especially the ceramic Laureato, I did consider buying it . The Code ,though the double alligator strap was very well made, is more wearable with the kevlar strap , better suited to the casualization of the current era. I purchased a basic time and date only after getting the Royal Oak at retail, though I am not going to lie, acquired it partly to maintain a good relationship with my boutique. For now AP is still all around, but are getting more and more expensive and even overrated for some models, GP will then be the 2nd choice for lower budget and grow on the market little by little.
