The featured building, Imperial Heights, is a very fancy and posh one... and loads of celebs also have their apartments there. I visited it once years ago and was stunned by the security level that time. Due to all this, apartment cost and rent is higher compared to other Goregaon West societies. For non-Mumbaikars, real estate prices is understandably crazy...but if you have to stay here, then no other choice...adapt to the city's craziness.
The Road by the way is amazingly of new york standard :)

If india wants to control population growth, there should be a law prohibiting societies from refusing bachelors to live solely based on their marital status. They can ask them to leave if they are a nuisance, but refusing people outright is plain stupid.
A lot of people I know in India got married because they realised they dont have much options staying alone and will not be able to live in good housings. People can't even think of staying alone

I am a 28 years old bachelor and never going to marry. Unfortunately, I have seen it first hand that bachelors are the worst kind of tenants you can have. Not only they are a nuisance to the owner but to the neighbours as well. Owners should have the choice to rent whoever they want. You can demonise it by calling it a discrimination. But forcing owners to rent someone they don't want to is even a bigger crime. And there are many accommodations which cater to bachelors in cities. Also, saying that societies refusing to rent to a bachelor is a problem affecting India's population is one of the stupidest things that I have ever read.
Bachelors create many issues like they will bring girls to flats for sex. In India, sex before marriage is still considered taboo. They make noise and don't keep flat clean thereby creating cockroaches. They live with more people than what is promised.
@@msaw504I'm 38 and not married, but other than myself, I don't get how each and every bachelor and bachelorette have only 3 things on their mind 1) stylish food, ordering from swiggy zomato 5 times a day 2) alcohol, loud music and parties, either at home or at pubs and 3) dating on tinder/bumble and dates, same mentality whether 18 years or 40 years and balding. WTF, eveb I wouldnt give my space to bachelors.
Life is not actually that tuff when father is paying your expenses.
Father is also giving him money to invest.
All 3 sides of this building are surrounded by burials and graveyards and a huge creek "nallah " ! One of the main reasons many refuse staying in this building are the graveyards around !
But with graveyards around u can be sure they will remain graveyards and not become high-rises blocking your view . And death is a reality. No escaping it.

Worse are the slums surrounding it. Reaching the building is messy & not the best sight. Then there is open sewage drain & piles of garbage. Last known the building didn't have OC

Lol. I live in New York and nowhere in the city will you find such a duplex unless you are willing to pay fork over $12/$15k which is off the budget of most people.

Money changes perceptions faster than you can think, a typical middle class landlord will be apprehensive but higher the rent and a readily paying tenant then he will shed those staunch morals.

The problem is your mindset. It's not just a 1 bhk, it's a duplex major difference. These appartments yield their own revenue and are not restricted by the conventional ideas of 1bhk. Lot of people can afford to pay higher rent for a better place they can call home. If you're going to be spending a lot of time home one should definitely look for more premium options.
@@adj33 More privacy in duplex and also high availability because not many women would like to go up and down. For young bachelor men that is not a problem.

I enjoy watching this show as it is mostly in English. In India, do you not pronounce the "x" in duplex? I find it very interesting that Indian communities have such high standards, that they do not allow bachelors to rent. I think it's a great idea because most young men tend to drink and party, and raise a ruckus. How long do these young men generally live in Mumbai before giving up on their Bollywood dreams?

very ancient and outdated mentality of treating bachelors in such a way. From an economical point of view, a bachelor would cause less wear and tear, noise and use less water etc. to the apartment than a family would. So bachelor should be preferred but because of outdated social attitudes they are not preferred
