- And just saesangs/crazy, obsessed fans in general

It was during the time when Exo were super super famous (still are) but fans sent death threats to Krystal and did so many bad things to her. And kai too. I'm actually glad YG made BLACKPINK's aura and atmosphere more of an elite or chic-like if y'all get me. I understand making idols single or dating bans are one of the most successful marketing tactics in kpop but I feel it just normalizes and encourages obsessive fan behaviour and sasengs.
I remember a friend and I were talking about how abundant sasengs incidents were compared to Western celebs. Or how Zayn of 1D, one of the biggest boy bands in the world, was engaged yet fans were supportive. they didn't send them hate or petitioned for zayn to be kicked out. its cause western celebs set boundaries that you dating your favs is an illusion-so fans wud know right away its impossible. yet since kpop normalizes it from the start it encourages fans to believe this fantasy is real and plausible and that they can cross that line.

I know that Dispatch has this thing will they reveal couples on New Years Day, but i wish they will stop doing that and fans would stop anticipating it. Imo idols/celebrity dating should be kept lowkey because ppl will always find their way to have an opinion on their relationships, when your relationship is publicized ppl will always have something to say whether it's negative or positive. A lot of people forget these idols are people. I don’t know for sure, but from the outside looking in, it seems like a lot of them miss out on normal experiences because either their company doesn’t allow it or they don’t want to be criticized by “fans” who probably do the same things they ridicule the idols for. These “fans” think that they own the idol, believing they aren’t allowed to do things as individuals for the sake of their group.
It’s really none of our business what these idols do in their free time.
As someone who has been a kpop fan through the duration of all these couples, Taeyeon experienced the most hate BY FAR. Not that it's a competition, of course, I just feel so bad for her. The amount of hate she got was i n s a n e and she completely changed (showed many signs of depression) after the incident, and still does to this day.

About Jennie and Kai, the relationship screamed new to me. Like; they probably had JUST started dating and didn't want to say anything until they knew it would last, and then it got leaked everywhere without their consent. I don't think it's any publicity stunt or w/e because they're already wildly popular idols, they really didn't need to stir drama to get views or whatever.
taeyeon and baekhyun relationship was so sad whether you think they were really dating or not....she went from one of the bubbliest most popular idols to struggling with her mental health and you could see her be wayyy more reserved and quiet on shows after her horrible experience with the media and netizens

So many comments blaming the fans but I think it started with the companies. Why do they have dating bans? They make idols dating seem taboo and they feed into the deluded idea that fans have a chance with their idol because they know that is what drives some fans rather than the music. Artists from other countries date openly without their fans tearing out their hair or hating on them. Yes they may have to deal with the annoying paparazzi but they're free to love and be loved. I love kpop but the whole grown ass adults not being allowed to date each other is stupid.

At first I didn’t care abt Jennie and Kai together because I only liked Jennie at the time. I’ve recently started liking Kai too. Ever notice when K-actors announced they are dating they don't get that much hate as k-idols.
