as a midzy, i get frustrated when other midzys complain about lia not being in the concept photos/mv because this hiatus was HER choice. i’m sure lia wasn’t like “hey can i be in the mv” and jyp said “no.” this is a decision she made for her own health, and i find it honestly selfish that fans are complaining about not getting lia content when her getting better is much more important.

This is the mature way to view it.
However, there are two things to remember for Midzy’s just in general: 1) We never REALLY know what is going on behind the camera. 2)Midzy’s can be many different ages, so although we may get frustrated at other fans, we have to remember that some of these fans may be younger than you are. Midzy’s also vary in intellectual capabilities, like everyone on the planet, and not everyone is on the same wavelength.
Overall, don’t let these things frustrate you. Just spread peace, love, and provide your viewpoint. Those that want to listen will. That is how you will make your impact in the community!

I’m a midzy too but I understand why some midzys are upset that lia wasn’t included in the comeback since lia has been getting so much hate since debut they probably thought she didn’t have a say in it and thought jyp was putting her on the backburner since people always say she “brings the group down” and jyp saw her hiatus as an opportunity especially since it’s rare for popular groups to not include members in comebacks unless they are actually leaving the group as a whole, but yes they should just let her rest

i think the same!! it's understandable and i get where everyone is coming from, but she's in hiatus for health issues so i can get kinda frustrated when people keep complaining about her not being included in the comeback. she needed a long time to rest. it's confusing how people keep complaining about idols being overworked and being forced to perform while being injured or sick, but when the company actually cares about the idol's health and allows them to rest people also complain about it. we should respect the decision that was made because it's the best for lia, if she came back earlier than needed it would be worse and it could be dangerous. i also think we should show support towards the idea of idols actually getting to rest and recover while being sick or injured (which is the right thing to do but unfortunately it doesn't happen as often as it should).

The no-concept concept works very well with Red Velvet because every release in itself is cohesive. From the visuals to how the songs are ordered in album, everything feels intentional and thought-out. I fail to see the same with Le Sserafim (which upsets me because they're my ults). Unforgiven felt like a bunch of songs randomly put together. Their last three releases were meant to be a triology but it doesn't feel that way at all. The pre-release discussion.
I like how NMIXX did it. They teased Run For Roses like 4 months ago, then had a Pre-Release with Sonãr, dropped a perfromance video for Run For Roses to build the hype again, which was highly anticipated by their fandom. (Run For Roses turned into a Fan-Favorite)
Run For Roses had no promotions and MV teasers like Sonãr did so it didn't really feel like a pre-release just a little gift. (As much as I was upset, it was smart they didn't release RFR rightbaway on Spotify, so you had to wait for the whole album to listen to Run For Roses)
Then we had ITZY... 2 Pre-Releases, 4 Solo MVs all within a month. Honestly to me Born To Be felt more like the Title Track with the rest being B-Side MV like SKZ likes to do it.

the thing about childrens' dreams being to become idols is so stupid. yeah, that's their dream, but they also don't necessarily understand what it would mean for them to actually become an idol. i know so many people (myself included) who really wanted to be famous popstars or actors when we were kids and realized YEARS later that it was actually a really good thing that we never ended up being successful. i know so many people who literally changed their major in college because even just deciding what to major in at 17/18 doesn't mean you're actually going to want to do that. it could be something you want so much you can't even put it into words but sometimes you get a bit older and realize you didn't actually have an accurate understanding of said career and you change your mind. and idols are literally thrust into the spotlight where any weirdos or creeps with ill intentions can see and even meet them and they can get cyberbullied for literally nothing
edit: i didn't even consider this while writing my comment, but there are a lot of trainees and idols who make the decision to drop out of school before graduating even high school. i'm not south kroean but from my understanding of the job market there, it is very competitive and pretty much everyone is expected to have a college degree to get a decent job. dropping out of school can make sense short-term, even from an adult's perspective, but long-term implications also need to be considered and it kind of seems like the adults around these kids don't really consider those things either. even if you are gaining success, there's literally no way to tell whether you're going to be able to build a long-term career off of your success or not but there are still idols who drop out of high school for promotions. of course it doesn't matter in the short-term, but what if the traction your group is getting dries up? not everyone can be successful in the entertainment industry but keeping your options open is discouraged because it takes time away from practice and work

@@annakkate2004 you seem pretty naive sorry. Child idols don't only have to deal with creepy adults, their young age also allows companies to get away with more mistreatment due to kids having less experience standing up for themselves. Female idols especially should not debut at young ages because idol standards pressure them to have plastic surgery and heavy dieting to become underweight which is damaging to their physical development and can stunt growth, many idols have eating disorders. A lot of idol show filming is also early morning which prevents them from having proper sleep schedules which is crucial in teen years, and the extreme stress of being a celebrity with heavy public scrutiny damages self esteem, increases risk for mental illness, drug addictions. Idols are also heavily micromanaged so these children aren't allowed to build life skills and be independent, they miss out in school to socialize because of training and feel detached from other kids their age

While some people might only care about instrumentation and vocals, disregarding the lyrics and the groups contribution, growth and identity as artists, others like myself are drawn into kpop for its storytelling aspect. Lia situation is similar to Onew's from SHINee. I actually think it is a positive step for idols so that they can take a step back and give their 100% to getting better than worry about upcoming schedules. He dropped out of HARD MV filming on day 3. So he is there in parts of the video, but since then most of the tracks have been re-recorded for three, their concerts are as three since May 2023. It also gives us a glimpse into idol contracts. Just because Lia/Onew's groups are doing something, doesn't mean they have to too.
Having them on concert teasers/collabs with other companies etc is just putting them on a time line right? Its like they are expected to be back, when in reality healing takes time, especially ones that force to have to step away from doing something you love.

-AFAIK, Lia’s lack of participation in this comeback is based on her own boundaries of what she’s comfortable doing. When Mina had her hiatus, it was specifically because of anxiety about performing in front of crowds, so she was still okay to be in MV’s and on songs. (Same for Jeongyeon, I think, and I seem to remember hers also had to do with a physical injury which is why she wasn’t in dance shots for Scientist MV). With Lia, it seems like she wanted, needed, and got a total break, and at the time, her solo song had already been recorded, but none of the group content for the album had been prepared. So that’s why she’s not as present as Mina and Jeongyeon were.

Le Sserafim have great songs on the album they put out last year. I actually really like Unforgiven. Every group tries different sounds and genres.
I really like that they've been trying different genres like EP&TBW, No Celestial, Fire in my Belly, Antifragile, Perfect Night, Unforgiven, No Return (Into The Unknown), Impurities etc
I find their music interesting cause they aren't just doing the same sound all the time. I look forward to what they put out next.

And then.....the other albums happened, Impurities and The Hydra were really good but I can't say I've listened to the rest of the album, and I only listened to Burn the Bridge and EPATBW on Unforgiven. So Lia not being in the photos or the songs isn't odd or jyp mishandeling it it's just that Twice operates on a nine or none schedule (the doughnut album photo was only 8 as well.)

I have to disagree on what you said about pre-releases, you mentioned how companies don’t know what to do with them and how they take away from the main title track and create competition for it on the chart while mentioning IVE as an example. IMO IVE’s Kitsch & I AM duo is probably one of the most succesful rollouts of a pre-release & main title track situations we have ever seen in kpop. Giving Liz 7 seconds of lines in Kitsch paired with the divisive opinions on the song created the perfect buzz for their main title track. Everybody was waiting to see what I AM would be like and if Liz will get more lines ( she got the most, making the marketing scheme obvious ). Kitsch went on to achieve PAK, being later on replaced by I AM which also achieved PAK. This made IVE the first girl group since 2NE1 in 2009 to have two songs from one album achieve PAK, the shortest period of time in between songs ( 7 days ) and the first group to replace themselves with 2 PAK songs. Both songs did incredibly well streaming wise and the album is sitting at nearly 1.7 mil album sales. I don’t think IVE’s Kitsch & I AM duo was the best example for that particular point.

nobody was arguing kitsch and i am were flops. i personally thought the rollout was overwhelming to the point where i didn't know that kitsch wasn't the TT. and despite the success they would've gotten even better results if kitsch wasn't blocking i am on the charts for a substantial amount of time. the comeback would've been better if kitsch was released a month or two before i am so it would've had time to rake in more paks.

    1. I remember watching the debut mv and it just seemed ridiculous how these literal babies are trying so hard to look tough and bossy to the point the song and mv both looked like a joke. First of all, this is a vocal heavy group. Their visuals don't give bad b*tch either, it gives pastel girls. Nothing about their concept agrees with them.
    2. I don't really listen to xg and am not really interested in them but I don't get why ppl can't move on if they don't like them? Like nobody's forcing you to listen / look at them so why the fuss?
    3. I actually agree with op. Lsf discog as of now has 0 skips. All the songs have a unique flavour yet still come together seamlessly with their respective albums. Fearless is probably the most underwhelming track from them overall but even so it's still not a bad song in the slightest and I would listen to it frequently. I think ppl need to understand that a hit is hard to follow. Antifragile was a fan favourite for the entirety of 2022 and was pretty much the biggest song released that year. All in all I don't really understand understand where you're coming from because this trilogy seemed pretty cohesive to me.
    4. As an army, I've been seeing kpop stans trying to drag bts by saying how they're becoming "too western" since DNA. Needless to say I wasn't shocked about the international kpoppies' reaction to BTS's only 3 english songs in their discography at the time, not to mention multiple other groups including monsta x and bp were also releasing english songs. What's ironic to me is that most of the rubbish came from bp fans and now bp's latest album is 90% english. But that's besides the point. What does "too western" or "too much english" even mean? Are you trying to gatekeep the kpop industry from the world? Cuz child that's what it seems like and you need to get your pitiful *ss off the internet asap.
    5. I think set me free flopped because it's a generic retro song released when the retro trend was long over. The other tracks on the album actually have good music quality. They should've chosen blame it on me as the title.

  • @AsiasAnimations
    @AsiasAnimations 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

I enjoyed watching this video, so I'm deciding to respond to these opinions too. 💬
    1) *_BABYMONSTER "Batter Up"_* - Their comeback was definitely underwhelming & looked very much like BLACKPINK 2.0. Tbh I didn't really know what to expect anyway, but I was hoping YG wouldn't give them a concept very similar to BLACKPINK. 😮‍💨 (But of course he did) The disappointed response of a lot of people is probably why he decided to film that video talking about his future plans with the group to try to ease everyone's disappointment.
    2) *_XG_* - I barely know anything about this group; some songs I heard from them seem pretty good. 🎶 I also definitely think there's xen0ph0bia jumping out of k-pop stans, why get mad at an all Japanese group promoting themselves like a typical K-pop group, when there's plenty of Japanese members in actual k-pop groups? The hate is for sure forced here.
    3) *_LE SSERAFIM_* - Why do k-pop stans act like if an idol writes their own music, they're automatically treated as "better artists"? Writing/producing/composing your own music doesn't automatically mean you're a better artist than most (in my opinion). I know plenty of artists who write their own dog -sh!t- lyrics, or produce/compose their own dog -sh!t- music, & yet people still praise it because "they did it all themselves! 🥰✨" (Not saying LE SSERAFIM's music or lyrics is dog -sh!t-, just saying in general, I'm literally a FEARNOT myself) In terms of their music direction, tbh I don't know if I would say it's "directionless". "Unforgiven" was a bit of a confusing comeback for me though, I didn't hate it, I just didn't fully care for it. "Perfect Night" is SO GOOD THOUGH! ✨🎶✨
    4) *_PRE-RELEASE SINGLES_* - IDK, pre-release singles don't bother me. Though I do agree that they shouldn't be released 3 minutes before the official comeback, as it does take some attention away from the title track, especially if the pre-released B-side sounds better than the title track. (In my opinion, "Mr. Vampire" is better than "Untouchable" by ITZY)
    5) *_K-POP ENGLISH SONGS_* - Oh man, as an Army, the time when BTS released three (3) english singles in a row had all of the weird fet!sh!st Armys jumping out so fast. 🙄 The whole topic of some people literally questioning their authenticity to their own race ("Korean-ness" as you put it) was very weird to witness, but at the same time I knew it was gonna happen. We all know by now that a good chunk of k-pop fans don't actually "love" these idols like they claim they do, it's all 💛Yellow Fever💛 for them.
    6) *_LOONA_* - No opinion on this one, I'm just happy they managed to escape that terrible company.
    7) *_MINORS DEBUTING_* - Whoever wrote this opinion is definitely a child/minor who wants to be an idol really badly lol. 😆 We can sit here & say all day that children debuting in the k-pop industry is a terrible idea, show & explain so many examples, etc. Yet so many kids looking at these idols perform, do photoshoots, & live the ✨extravagant idol life✨ just won't steer them away from wanting the dream themselves. Plus a lot of kids of course think they can handle how hard it is to be a k-pop idol... until they get criticized heavily for breathing incorrectly. Some people just don't believe things until they see/experience them, so we're gonna continue to see people say "let minors debut in k-pop!!!" for a long while until something is done about it. (Like IDK... stop letting these companies let literal 8 - 12 year olds start training to be an idol??? That is waaaaay too young! I know the industry is extremely ageist, but this is ridiculous)
    8) *_TWICE_* - Honestly... as a ONCE myself, TWICE's more recent title tracks have not been hitting for me. I'm starting to see why some people have been asking them to go back to their very iconic cute concepts, because these mature ones aren't doing anything for me anymore. I think the last title track I genuinely liked (& still remember) from them is probably "FANCY". "Scientist" shouldn't have ever existed (or should've been a B-side instead), "Talk That Talk" was nice but also meh, and "Set Me Free" just gave me nothing. Funny enough "The Feels" and "Moonlight Sunrise" were much more enjoyable for me. I don't wanna be THAT k-pop stan that says that a group is falling off, but... 🤷🏽‍♀ I'm hoping their upcoming comeback will bring me out of this TWICE rut that I'm in right now. And Jihyo's solo was pretty good, but it was definitely not given much attention I feel. Could be because the promotions were very short, but IDK.
    9) *_K-POP RAP_* - I'm gonna say a 🔥hot take🔥 right now. The people who "start to enjoy rap" after listening to k-pop idols rap might be lowkey anti-black... ✋🏽👩🏽🤚🏽 PLEASE HEAR ME OUT. Because these people are 100% aware that rap & hip hop was originated by black artists, so for them to either hate rap originally or just not care for it, & then _suddenly_ start to enjoy rapping once they see an east asian person doing it??? 🤨🤔 Now it's one thing if someone sees a k-pop idol or a k-hiphop artist rap & then discover more rap & hip hop songs by black artists later, but it's another thing if you enjoy k-pop rapping or k-hiphop rapping but refuse to listen to any actual black rappers or hiphop artists. Literally, the excuse I've seen to some people saying that they don't enjoy listening to black rappers is because "it's too explicit", but if an idol or k-hiphop artist rapped about the same exact explicit things, it's fire to them. 😑 The people who discredited J Cole, Usher, and even *THEE* Erykah Badu when they all collabed with BTS are a pretty good example of this. They're completely fine with the rap line rapping about sending somebody to Hong Kong with his impressive tongue technology (shout out to my baby Yoongi 🐱❣), but if they heard J Cole rap about something very similar, they would call it "too explicit/too -s3xualized-".
    10) *_ITZY WITHOUT LIA (OT4)_* - I'm a bit confused as to why everyone is so concerned about Lia not participating in the "Untouchable" comeback??? Yes she's not in the concept photos, not in the songs, not in the music videos, but I don't think that means JYP is planning to "get rid of her". And yes other companies have still included members into music videos & concept photos either before or during their own hiatus, but just because Lia isn't in anything doesn't indicate that she's gonna possibly leave the group. It was probably her choice to not participate in all of those things to make sure her health is being taken care of. But of course I don't know any of this for sure, it's just an opinion. And there's no concrete proof that JYP is testing out OT4 to see if they're received better by the fans/public, so it isn't right to speculate or assume that. Because if he REALLY wanted to test that out, he would've put her on hiatus when her -bu||ying- accusations were going on. I am really hoping that Lia will eventually come back once she's much better. ❤
Those are my opinions about these k-pop opinions. Sorry if I upset some of you. Please disagree respectfully. 🫶🏽

my opinion to the minors in kpop one: I think this opinion or better saying the person who sent it in is very naive. We don`t assume things. We have so many examples of groups who we know were sexually harrassed, sexualized, blackmailed to do inappropriate things etc. just to debut them. Especially when it comes to girlgroups. There are so many ex members of girlgroups who talked about how the company they were in blackmailed them to send them photos of them so "it`s more likely for them to be in the new girlgroup". Or Omega X as a boygroup are also an example. We know what the CEO and her husband did to the members and how the members felt with it. To say that we just have dirty thoughts and just assume things is simply naive when we have so many examples. And i completely felt when you said that you also had a lot of dreams when you were a child xD I wanted to be a singer, a director, a bestseller writer, a hair dresser etc and my mum destroyed every dream i had and now as an adult i kinda understand why she did that. For bestseller writer I`m still mad because she lied to me when i comes to that but for the rest I`m glad that she saved me from stupid decisions in the future. And i don`t understand why parents of young idols throw their children in such a toxic environment like they don`t seem to me like they actually care and love their own child.

Lesserafim musical direction has ultimately been aimless and inconsistent. I think that the kpop community generally overhype Lesserafims discography. I don't think its their discography is bad but its not really special to me. Most of their tracks are just bloated with very melodramatic and inoffensive tracks like the b-sides of their first full album, Sour Grapes and Good Parts that just feels very derivative of kpop imo. Don't get me wrong, I really like their hits like Antifragile, Impurities, The Great Mermaid, Perfect Night, Burn The Bridge and Eve Psyche and the Bluebeard's Wife but imo, there are other groups with stronger and innovative musical identities than just Lesserafim.

About the pre- release opinion the 2 best examples of how a pre release should be done is black swan by BTS & how you like that by Blackpink. Black swan dropped in January and ON was released in March. That’s 2 months to build up hype and it did just that.
Blackpink released How you like that 4 months before their album dropped. And everybody was incredibly hyped for their first album because of HYLT. Idk what these new groups are doing dropping pre-releases just days before their comeback but it’s literal sabotage. The fandom will have to do double the work and will most likely fail if the fandom isn’t on the same page or can’t manage 2 songs at the same time.

From the start, Koreans were hurling the most vitriolic hate at XG that the TH-cam algorithm hid from most viewers who did not search in Hangul. The hate exploded after a Korean translation of an interview with former Avex president Max Matsura where he explained the goals of creating XG and why their success was important to the future of Japanese pop music. When comparing the original Japanese text with the Korean translation, it was obvious that the interview was intentionally taken out of context and mistranslated - Matsura was highly complementary towards KPop and Korean music companies and any criticism was directed at the insular Japanese music industry.

I feel like Lesserafim is just a stylised KPOP group. They are like supermodels but in music. Pretty, stylish, and that's it? At least until now, since I couldnt grasp their lore other than that. More so, their lore probably their own name, fearless but I still dont grasp any story in it. Maybe they just dont have one. Oh btw I'm talking about their music, not their appearance whatsoever.
As for Twice, KPOP nowadays are so different with the way before. K-fans are like fast fashion where you change fandom each and everytime. Thus, I think there will be 2 theories not only for Twice but for JYPE as a whole. 1. Most of them, as I've seen and stanning since long ago, arent exactly focusing in generating new fans instead they are now "experimenting" or "maturing" their new sounds, new songs, and giving it to based fans to see whether it is still acceptable or not. This is why they dont even charge digitally high, as if they dont even try to. If its a hit wonder, nice, if its not, well this is their music. Somehow they stop "riding the trend" after presumably 2020? Their direction now is toward long time based fandom who will keep to be feed with everything their idol does, thus the group will last long in career. Ironically, this is what an artist actually do, focusing on their own work.😂😂

I will go with no.2 the marketing. Literally JYPE as a company has the worst marketing strategies. They will let their group go to one or two music shows then some random tiktoks and call it the “promotion”. It’s clear that JYPE has to really really redefine their promotional tactics

NewJeans uses pre-releases to give b-sides more attention. They promote every song on purpose so people can be confused on what the actual title track is. They always release a track right after another to make people curious on what their promotion plan is and it seems to work very well. For "Ditto" it was connected to "OMG" through the music video. I don't think they expected it to get as famous as it did but the combination worked out with "Ditto" being record breaking domestically & "OMG" getting their name out there internationally. Also worked with their debut "Attention" & "Hype Boy" competing for success and for their 2nd comeback with "Super Shy" & "ETA". I think they like the idea of having competing singles on the charts.

I kinda don’t understand the whole Lia situation too, like why does Jype need to come back with a whole full album, when one member isn’t there? Couldn’t they just release a mini album or even a single? Like born to be is what? Itzys second full album? I mean, don’t company’s know months or even years before the release, what song they gonna use? Why would the release such an important album without Lia? She isn’t even unimportant to the groups, she is their freaking main vocal, and I don’t know if it is just me, but Itzy isn’t Itzy without Lia or any other Itzy member. I love the other members and I totally respect them for coming back so strong even without their main vocal but it just doesn’t seem right without her. And like I said, it so weird, that they released a full album without their main vocal and even even if she wasn’t the main vocal, a full album without a member is crazy, and also a world tour?? Didn’t they just come back from the last world tour? Why do one, when one member is absent? But I hope we all worry for nothing, and lia won’t be kicked out of the group or what ever, expect if it’s her own decision lol but I will always support her, what ever she does, and I hope she uses all the time she needs and comes back when she feels ready ❤

we don’t need pre-releases in kpop because kpop groups come back so many times, a pre-release works in the west because they don’t release an album twice or three times a year. no need whatsoever.
singing in english is literally no issue, people from different parts of the world sing in english but then when it comes to kpop idols suddenly it’s not okay. now i have my issues with pandering to the west but language isn’t really the issue. i feel like i couldn’t explain this point very well but this honestly just needs an essay.

I recently watched their Coachella, apparently they were there and I saw the live broadcast. The way fans were SO PROUD was beyond my comprehension. They were shouting and shaky and idk it was cringy. The crowd was fire tho. The short haired blonde was the most stable. Idk what is going on in kpop with this "we don't expect them to sing with that choreo" bullshit. I watched BP and Aespa in Coachella, BP was fckin ace, they knew their game and they played well. Aespa was just sad cz they absolutely did not have any stage presence at that point, but their vocals were so great! And that was them dancing too! Le serafim was just saved by the crowd with cheers cz they were so vocally weak and sad to listen to.

For the pre-release opinion i agree with you and i noticed that with NCT DREAM ISTJ promotions "Broken melodies" was the pre-release and "ISTJ" was the title track. Broken melodies is the type of sound you expect from dream and in my opinion it's way better than ISTJ but since ISTJ came directly afterwards, fans didn't give it much attention nor DREAM promote it properly so yeah i agree if you gonna actually release a pre-release give it time otherwise you're ruining you're own song.
For the rap opinion, i don't understand rap i really don't and i love it in the kpop format for the exact reason you and other rap fans hate kpop rap because it's NOT RAP, i don't love all kpop raps just MARK and SUGA and i like it when it's a small segment in a song not the entire song.... I guess the problem is stans can't differentiate opinions from facts and they state their opinions as facts.
I don't follow le sseraffim nor new jeans nor any hype group tbh, i love the extravaganza of old kpop both visually and musically that's why i stick to my "old" groups like Redvelvet, EXO, NCT, TWICE... etc the thing is from an outside perspective i can't differentiate hype groups from each other le sseraffim and new jeans seem interchangeable to me, same with txt and enhypen each group of those don't have a distinct clear image, they all have that minimalistic western thing about the visual direction of all these groups especially gg that make them too similar to me
TWICE : they simply have gone old in the eyes of kpop fans like you said kpop is obsessed with youth and TWICE just like any other 3rd gen group have gone old so people with the exception of ONCEs stopped paying attention, that being said i agree the "Set me free" album definitely didn't live up to TWICE's level of hype, success and dare i say quality, i need to admit that peak TWICE music wise for me are the "love formula" and "taste of love" albums, each song on these two albums is really good way better than their previous releases and way better than their recent releases but i won't say i'm worried about their future or anything they're still big.
I'm genuinely worried about ITZY, it's like JYP is preparing for Lia's departure, Lia _the weak member_ is gone and old ITZY is back in the same album, something is fishy, Lia is ITZY's backbone vocally not to mention has the most distinct vocal color to contrast the rest of ITZY who are too similar to each other, i don't know i don't think JYP are that stupid to remove Lia but again people are eating up "Born to be" without her so this might encourage them to remove Lia permanently, i have this bad idea that JYP released "Born to be" as some sort of test to see the perception of ITZY without lia... I hope i'm wrong.

I personally disagree with the le sserafim part. Not all songs NEED a musical direction, it’s just beat with lyrics that people enjoy. This shouldn’t make you skeptical in stanning or make you dislike the song ( not saying the person in the video is)
Not all groups need a lore or a theme. Of course having an idea of what they might produce next is great and we do have that when we listen to le sserafim. Like i wouldn’t necessarily expect a ballad next but if they did i wouldn’t actually mind since they can pull it off. Unforgiven to me was not unfinished or a flop, it was a song with again- a catchy beat with lyrics that people will enjoy. There was some influence from antifragile but they already confirmed they were going to be making unforgiven in the literal antifragile music video. They asked “do you want to be forgiven”…
Also by stating this is her an opinion then using the word “proves” completely contridict each other. You should say that it proves to you and what YOU believe. Not just blatantly put that word out
Like im honest but you dont have to agree with me and Stan le sserafim just because of what i said, but I dont think some of her points are valid

Since Itzy all have solo songs on the album it would've made sense to spend a lot of time promoting those solos with individual activities until Lia came back to rerecord the 4 group songs they have on the album. K-pop companies treat full albums like they do mini albums and it's frustrating. A Full album is supposed to STRETCH for years with award show appearances, festivals, online performances, a LONG tour, Variety/late night show appearances, etc. JYP rushed this comeback and also the way they promote pre-releases has to be the MOST upsetting in all of K-pop. Why would you pre-release multiple songs that aren't available digitally? The promotions for this album should've been stretched with solo & 'Born to Be" promotions until Lia made her return. Itzy are now 5 years old, it's definitely time to get their names out there individually with brand deals and allow more solo creativity. They only got 2 more years now to solidify a career they can be proud of if they don't renew. 2 Years is not a lot of time that's like 2-3 comebacks and they've been on a downward trend the past 3 comebacks already

I agree with pretty much everything you said in the video minus the part that if someone is not black it diminishes their say in what is good rap. coming from a mixed country, i'm used to culture being shared. also, rap music originated from african, latin and caribbean communities as a way to create an identity and make criticism right? i'm latin and in my country there are many non-black artists who make great rap music.
obs: in kpop rap I personally feel it lacks writtting. rappers write their lyrics and in kpop most idols are just performing, so i think is just a whole other thing. also, the rap sections often don't seem to have a purpose and ar just there because it's the norm or something

I remember when Eminem was introduced, yeah I'm old... saying this, I have to confess that I find a lot of kpop raps cringy ...and I question myself what was the point quite often...or if the producers high five each other while recording those parts...

I hate BTS's English releases because the production is basic af, repetitive, and boring. The lyrics are also pretty lame. Their Korean songs and concepts were so thoughtful, so to go from that to the hot trash that is their English releases was extremely disappointing. It's everything I hate about most American pop and why I gravitated to K-Pop in the first place. The way the songs are constructed is much more interesting. Even non-Korean producers who work with K-Pop groups have said that the creative freedom they have is more fun. I couldn't really call myself a fan of the group anymore. My love for BTS is trapped in 2017 and later lmao. I still like certain members' solo stuff tho as it still maintained the type of production I like.

I've only heard "On," "Black Swan," and "Best is Yet to Come."
On is okay, but the song sounds pretty empty most of the time. Not much happening.
Black Swan is the only one of the three that I would say I like. It's pretty repetitive, but the synth they use is unique enough to hold my attention.
Best is Yet to Come is technically a good song, but it's not a style of music I generally listen to.
Those albums held a lot of meaning and were really well thought out with the concepts, which is a stark contrast to the English songs which were coming out at around that time. So even if I don't like some of those songs, they're still meaningful.
I found that I couldn't really call myself a fan anymore since I didn't like so many of their songs as I used to. So I still like them as people, but for current music, I only really like some members' solo albums.

I think Baby Monster has so much potential. The girls have so much swag (and you can see this with how they dance; I love girl groups who can dance like the boy groups, can execute hard hitting moves and don't look robotic) and they actually have competent vocalists with a wide range and different voice timbres. I don't like to categorize talent by concept so I don't pay attention to whether or not they're girl crush or not. Boxing groups seem detrimental to their growth. I just go with the talent and how the group performs. I already prefer how Baby Monster performs over how New Jeans performs. New Jeans may have really catchy songs and they're popular but they're not exciting performers.
