    Only those of us who take great pleasure in growing our own tomatoes totally understand that reaction to Lucid Gem, I sat laughing along with you thinking I so do exactly the same! 🤣🤣🤣 some tomatoes just reaaaalllllllyyy hit the spot!

    Bill from the states. You sold me on the lucid gem on last years video and went straight to wild boar farm and bought some seeds. Seeing your reaction to lucid gem this year makes me want it even more 😂

      😂 I hope you love it as much as I do Bill, it's a keeper for me as I particularly like that kind of flavour profile. Have you tried Alice's Dream?

      🤣 yes, it was a remarkable tomato although, perhaps I was a little over the top. Thanks for subbing though and for the great feedback, it's really appreciated.

      @@veggieplot My pleasure, kind sir. I’ve been binge watching your taste test videos.
      We sell at our local farmers’ market and this time of year, when it starts to get chilly, is when I sit by the fire and STUDY varieties I want to grow the following year.
      My GOAL is to make veggies CRAVE-WORTHY to children. I want little ones to seek out our health-building vegetables. ❤️
      Your taste-test videos help A LOT! 🙏🏼

      That's great to hear, I wish I had managed that with my children, although I like to think that one day they'll pick up a seed packet and grow something they'll love to eat.

    Thank you for valuing the actual tomato taste of a tomato, rather than its sweetness only. I love a fat, meaty, savoury beefsteak tomato. Nothing like them in the shops. I don't like ultra juicy toms either - they make soggy sandwiches and don't cook well into sauces.

    • @veggieplot
      @veggieplot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The next batch are almost all savoury Lin so I hope you like that video when it come out and find some you'd like to grow. I do like a little sweet cherry tomato, but the beefsteaks with flavour, are the best.

    • @andybarr6751
      @andybarr6751 ปีที่แล้ว

      I second this! I read a bunch of reviews that talk about sweetness, and I am really not into that. I look for some nice acidty and complex tastes. Worst case, it is easy to add sugar to sauces or whatever one is doing if it is needed, but it is much harder to get rid of it.

    Loved this video giving great ideas and interest. I always think no the ones that have the most flavour are the first picking the first fruits as they have the long summer warmth and sun on them. Ones that ripen later on not just from sunshine so the flavour lessens. My opinion

    I purchased aztek micro dwarf from honey vale farm. Grew one plant and ended up being a indetiminate tomato plant with big yellow toms. Not what i wanted but gonna try again next year to see if it was a cross polination issue. The other 2 varieties kinda looks right . Black russian and green zebra

      That’s frustrating when you don’t get what you ordered, I grew some huge red heart shaped toms which we’re supposed to be Sweetheart Cherry! Good for cooking but not what I wanted and I’ll not grow it again. Having said that both the Green Zebra and Black Krim were great.

    Roots and Refuge and Prairie Plantgirl and True T V and Gardener Scott on TH-cam I noticed as myself love that Thourburg Terracotta ( Baker Creek Seeds carries the seeds ) I said to you a few days ago about the only tomato I've tried and eat the whole thing and 4 different times each time said WOW! Truly enjoyed each.anf normally I don't eat tomatoes but with sandwiches in salad and in many dishes tomatoes add so much flavor.
    I save my own seeds if you want I'll mail just give me a mailing address.
    Seeing your response will be a great experience and our circle of friends favorite is " Midnight Snack "
    My neighbor from Central America claims Thourburg Terracotta as best tomatoes for her dishes and she's cooking every day

      Hey John, they sound great and I just watched a YT video about them. I believe that Tomato Revolution Seeds in the UK is selling seeds although they call them Thorburns Terra-Cotta, which I presume are the same thing. If you're happy to send over some seeds I'd definitely try them next year as it's too late here now. Please send an email via www.veggieplot.uk and I'll send over my details. Many thanks.
