Oh Georgie I love you and I love your pocket square of joy! I love you used sweet wills when so many people are snooty about them. Making one for a wedding next week! Thanks for the lovely helpful how-to! x
Fun! My gran was a professional florist and my mum did many wedding flowers in our farming area. I got to help by wiring and taping flowers. That florists' tape is wonderful stuff, sort of waxed crepe paper. A brilliant ideas thought up in the dark ages!
Loved the tutorial on flower pocket squares Haven’t seen anyone doing these in NZ Always fun and interesting watching your clips. Thankyou Janet from Downunder
We use cold floristry glue for ours in our floristry class and there’s no damp squishiness. If the flowers are conditioned properly they last beautifully ❤
What a lovely idea. I did the wedding flowers for my daughter’s wedding and trying to pin the button holes on the groomsmen was a challenge this will definitely make it easier and time saving for future projects. The plastic florist tape will keep the moisture in the arrangement for hours and I’m wondering if the plastic water tubes you get with Singapore orchids will be useful too. Thanks Georgie great idea.
Clever idea, I thought you would put a small amount of water within the cardboard, but it maybe doesn’t need it. I like it and it’s a great idea. Sweat Pea’s were a lovely colour
I'm so glad that you also use Cow Parsley!! I love it, because here in our cold and wet climate it is one of the first fillers and growing in enormous amounts near the street. Today I did 12 vases and a big bouquet for an event, with a tiny budget. Flowers out of nature help me keep the budget down an cow parsley has this natural look, that I love so much. Together with some closed, tiny double tulips, white anemone and white-peach narcissi it looks so fragile and fresh. I love it. What a coincidence, that you make this video today, when I used it for all my vases and all of my tomorrows market-bouquets. 😄🌼🌸 Thank you for the fine video!! Greetings from denmark!! 🤗🌻
I'm in the US and "googled" the floral pocket square as I was so surprised. It truly is a new fashion here as well! Amazon came up in my search. They sell a pack of 10 It shows the size of a pocket square insert for the very item you have made. It measures 3 5/16"x4 7/8". Thank you. I love this idea for both men and women.
lol - poor guys are usually already flinching when I come at them with a buttonhole but they don't usually get all the choices when it comes to wedding flowers x
nice thing with this is that I didn't wire it and then kept it to see how it would hold up over the weekend and while yes, three days of a hot weekend later it's not looking fresh as a daisy, it's held up remarkably well. I won't wire these as I thought I'd have to x
I think floral pocket squares is a fabulous idea for weddings. Easy to construct, no pins necessary. I'm wondering if there are any type of thin plastic containers on the market to put into the jacket pocket that is made to secure the flowers instead of using cardboard? Wouldn't that be a nice invention, maybe something that adheres to the inside of the pocket so it does not fall out.
It's not like you, Georgie, to use non-compostable plastic bags, tape and wire! You're so ingenious, couldn't you find a way to make these charming little pocket posies a bit more eco-friendly? The cardboard is firm and sturdy, so if you're worried about leaks, why not just put a thin lining of cotton wool on the side that folds over the flowers - it will absorb any dampness, so no need for a plastic envelope then. It's also a bit of a faff, wrapping it all up in ribbon - why not just whip up some inexpensive poly/satin sleeves that would take you 2 minutes to whiz through on the sewing machine - in colours that the lads would like - navy blue, black or dark purple. Some sewing machines even have a fancy program on them, that embroiders initials in a couple of seconds - the initials of the bride and groom on these little satin envelopes, in swirly gold thread would look rather charming...it's super easy and quick to do - and the guests could keep them as nice souvenirs of a happy day. Just throwing ideas your way!
That is really really cute! That would be fun to wear even to go to church or just a fun outing. Love it!
exactly x
Who needs a wedding to wear one! Soooo pretty!
totes agree x
That pocket square is absolutely beautiful!!!
they're fun aren't they x
I don't think it needs so many flowers, but love it
thank you x
Love it, Georgie! 😊
thank you x

You are so welcome! x
As a floral designer I've done many many boutonnieres and I think this is a FANTASTIC idea!!!
I think so too! x
You can use the plastic sleeves for baseball cards to slide them into. The thin cardboard of a cereal box works well.
yes - good ideas x

That’s such fun and looks amazing.
thank you x
I ❤it. Much better than pins and magnets. Thx for showing! Greatings from Indrani, Knegsel the Netherlands
hello the Netherlands! x
Absolutely gorgeous. I wonder how they would stand up to being squashed with all the hugs a groom would get from well wishers?
good question - probably no better than the usual buttonholes x
Love this!! So much better than a button hole!
pretty isn't it x
The mower, the aeroplane ? Rachel....😂😂😂
it's always the way x
Gorgeous ❤❤
thank you x
Wonderful ideas. Thank you
you're welcome x
What a very cute and beautiful idea. I love it! xx

isn't it x
It looks really lovely and really suited your posh jacket!
thank you x
I'm wondering if it is too big, just curious, watching patiently, very intriguing ❤
Everybody seems to be making them this season - it's hard not to go large on them x
What a great idea, it’s really pretty. Thank you.
you're welcome x
How fab, love it.
glad you agree x
It’s beautiful ❤ perfect timing for me as I’m making one tomorrow 🙏

yes easy to pop into pockets - but make sure the pocket is a real pocket before booking them x
Lovely
thank you x

if the flowers are well conditioned and wrapped like this they'll do twenty four hours nicely x
Sooooo lovely ! What a wonderful idea !
fun isn't it x
Love it!!
thank you x
That’s adorable!
glad you agree x
Not a new concept but a excellent idea for contemporary bride's and groomsmen to match... 😊
yes it's lovely isn't it x

Lovely - sounds beautiful x
@@theflowerfarmer Thank youso much!! 🤗💖
Hey, how about just wearing one anytime? Who needs a wedding???😁🤗🤗🤗
great idea x
Fun! I'm sure the mechanics will be refined and tweaked over time.
yes I'm sure x

brilliant - thanks for the Amazon tip x
I love this idea for either man or woman 🌼🌺🌸
Yes I was thinking the same, what would the men think. Some may think they are wearing half the garden.
Personally, I think it could be just a tiny bit smaller for the guys.
lol - poor guys are usually already flinching when I come at them with a buttonhole but they don't usually get all the choices when it comes to wedding flowers x
I think if they're booking floral pocket squares they are keen to go big x
That's great. No only for men but a lady might wear it in her jacket also. Just because.
exactly x
So funny I saw you making buttonholes recently and wondered if you knew about these😅
I keep seeing them popping up and so inevitably had an order so thought I'd better make one - I love them x
Lovely idea, but just wondering how it will stay in the pocket if the gentlemen bend down to pick something up - a pin to keep it in pocket?
it felt quite secure x
A really lovely idea. Much classier and secure than a single buttonhole flower that tend to break off at the head.
Not if it is wired correctly.
yes - and I kept it and here we are the following Monday and while it's feeling its age it's held up amazingly x
nice thing with this is that I didn't wire it and then kept it to see how it would hold up over the weekend and while yes, three days of a hot weekend later it's not looking fresh as a daisy, it's held up remarkably well. I won't wire these as I thought I'd have to x
That is stunning! 💕How long did it stay fresh? Thank you for sharing 🌸
well it's Monday morning and we've had a v hot weekend and I'm looking at it and while it isn't fresh as a daisy I could almost wear it now x

The f l o w e r s c h o o l does them that way.
apparently there are kits one can order on Amazon... x
the downside to using the stemtex is that it makes the flowers nonconpostable though
I think the stemtex is fully compostable - just paper and glue x
In the US our tape in on a dispenser!
Here too in the UK.
yes everyone but me has tape in a dispenser - I don't use enough tape but maybe should get one now x
Instead of taping the finished arrangement, why not staple the stems in place on cardboard to keep them in place? Can't wait to try this idea...
you could staple but less compostable... x
"She started filming! Everyone start a loud activity that you've been postponing."
😂
happens every time x
What would one of these cost to make versus sell?
I talk about this in detail in my club members version of the clip x
I'm laughing at the tape
I haven't used tape for years - xxx

funnily enough I think the Stemtex is fully compostable - lots of good ideas though so thank you x
tssssssssssss
hope this means you like the idea x
