New Blood? Never heard of em!
Yeah, they're pretty new. And bloody.
After how long does New Blood become Old Blood, certainly not 10 years
Has anyone mentioned how absolutely dope the picture for this podcast looks?
I don't see an artist credit mentioned, I wonder who made it?
@@mnoppers Good point, we've just added it and will keep it on future episodes. It's Jeff Delgado, he's done a bunch of cool work for Noclip over the years.
I’m not gonna lie, I initially thought it was ai art. I feel bad saying that since it was actually created by a human artist. Sucks that ai generated art has eroded my trust of any art I see online 😕
Yes, you have
@@EricShoe you can choose to not care what the source of the art is and instead learn to enjoy it for its content and what it's trying to communicate.
You know, the __real__ intent of art.
I’m about to be 30 and just started learning game dev. Felt greatly like I’d already failed by starting now, and hearing him say what he did about when he started changed my mind a lot. Amazing episode
> I’m about to be 30 and just started learning game dev.
That's the spirit! I hope you find great success (and fun) in the process.
Dude I LOVED hearing him. What a great person for interview. Like at first everything seemed like good standard interview, then as it went on it seems he got increasingly revved up, and I was totally for the ride
It looks like by and large New Blood had the same independent spirit as early ID and those other foundational developers. People, friends even, just making games in whatever way they want because no one told them they couldn't. I appreciate that spirit. We need more of that in gaming and just in the world in general.
respect to dave and all the new blood crew for this hybrid / freestyle approach. it became one of beacons of hope especially if you're coming late to the party from very different walks of life.
It's like a completely different world, almost like it's possible to have a fun and respectful place for devs to make games. The industry had made me doubt it was a thing.
This is a fantastic episode. Always love to hear Dave talk. New Blood loves you and they hate money
I went into this not even knowing that new blood existed, and still got a very interesting 30 minutes out of it anyways
I listened to this episode again on Spotify, just so I could give it *FIVE STARS BTW* 👌
This is a wonderful interview. Love Dave’s enthusiasm and inspiring attitude towards making great games, not chasing after promotions and climbing the corporate ladder, and staying motivated and happy. Thanks Danny for putting this together!
This was such a great episode.
Such a fun episode, and the amount of production effort Jesse puts into these is so great as well.
Thank you Danny et al. :)
Very interesting podcast episode, thanks Danny!
These chats are great. Its great to hear these conversations so casually and off the cuff
What a good get! I need to know how these madfolk stay in business. Such a cool publisher!
Dave talking about the immediate stomach ache from ridiculously hot food is so real. The burning in your mouth really isn’t THAT bad, like it hurts a lot but you get absolutely drowned in endorphins so by the time the burn dissipates, you feel pretty good and buzzed. However, after that you will likely develop a stomach ache for the rest of the day with no way to stop it, even with various antacids. Depending on how much you ate, this can get pretty severe. When i was a dumb teen in highschool, i ate 1 and a half scorpion peppers for $10 and I ended up feeling like a hole was burning in my stomach for the rest of the day. I couldn’t stand without getting nauseated, and i threw up a couple of times. I ended up laying on a pillow on my bed, window open in the middle of winter for the rest of the day lol.
Great episode, you all have your priorities straight alright. Working with your friends, that's how good stuff is made, and not making money as your main goal - this is good to hear, could hear it more often.
He sounds so passionate! Really good interview!
Great interview! Thanks a lot!
Love this new podcast Danny! Also Dave seems like a super cool guy gonna have to check out his stuff and any other podcasts he's done for sure.
Yeah i love Dave podcast and generally it's very inspiring.
Awesome Interview 💜
