Bikes being the same price as a car is killing the industry, they need to do something about pricing before it's too late. Tons of bike showrooms closing in UK.
Bring a cheaper (with only basic gadgets/safety features) bike to the market and the majority of the younger folks won't even look at it 🤷
and bikes the size of cars ….
well, it's simple. Don't buy them. Stick to reasonably priced 800s and the likes and enjoy them.
You can get a Honda Transalp, or Suzuki Vstrom 800 for round 10.000,00 €. I drive Transalp 700. It's enough for everything. No need to buy BMW for 30.000, €.
R1300GS is not for everybody. If you cant afford it, just buy something chinese.
That GSA 1250 in the corner shade looks more appealing then this 1300
it is than this 1300. Why do so many people get than and then mixed up ?
Anyone who has seen the new GS 1300 Adventure in real life will quickly forget the old 1250 Adventure.😊
I'm a GS owner and I have no desire at all to own a new 1300. I like nothing about it. I'll keep my 1200 and for a new bike it will have to be from someone else. Probably be going to be an Africa Twin. I'm sure BMW don't care. People will still buy this which is fair I guess.
I’m the polar opposite to you. I have never even considered a GS before as I like nothing about them. I love the looks and performance of the GS. I really don’t like the new GSA, I think it looks awful. It’s funny how people’s tastes differ. I personally think this diverse taste in bikes is a healthy way of ensuring bikes don’t end up all looking the same homogeneous characterless style.
4:33 "It's a big BEAUTIFUL rhino of a bike". Yeah, just as beautiful as a rhino can get :D
Here's an idea. The rear lights should be EVEN SMALLER. 🤨
Looks like the 1250gs is my last BMW. Done with the distracting technology overkill and the weight.
Buy a basic model then. What’s the problem??? Aaaa, you’ll be the only one in the world. 😂
@@adinovak2352 The problem is the older I'm getting the heavier these bikes feel. I'm sure the big girl will sell by the ship load. Cheers
Only the actual sales numbers will tell if this design is successful or not. Until then everything else is meaningless.
Absolutely hideous.......but that won't deter the people who only drive to Starbucks from buying it.
You sir is just about the only You tubers that can pronounce Akrapovic correctly. 👍
Il stick with my 1200x V4 cross tourer DCT .
I personally love the smaller exhaust. Smaller the better!
Just a correction ,Harley Pan Am lowers itself AUTOMATICALLY you dont manually do it yourself
Although I heartily approve of your choice of band t-shirt....
Exactly, I rather wear his tee instead of riding that hideous bike 😂
I have a 1200gs “c and loving it. As one of the few I do like this GSA design BUT come on the pricing has become insane.
At 1/2 the price & 1/4 the weight of a used car, it's hard to get excited about the NewEss....
The GS definitely shrunk, I am 6.3 and it felt small - doubt this would feel much bigger. Due to it's ugliness I could never bring myself to buy one, same for the HD Pan AM. The all in one tail lights are a huge SAFETY ISSUE to me and NEED TO BE REPLACED BY BMW ASAP. Turn signals MUST be separate from the tail/brake light. This all in one nonsense must stop now.
Now the PanAm actually looks better than the GSA and GS
In many ways BMW trying to compete with the market leader in sales in Europe, Honda out sells BMW even in Germany, as a DCT convert myself it's brilliant system. U get impression that new Honda E-Clutch on CB650R is also been copied with options on this BMW bike, the Saftey about alert to obstruction or cars approaching seems similar to Radar system fitted on Yamaha Tracer 900 GT
The main issue for me these days relates to security, 20-40 years ago you could park your bike anywhere and it would be there on return even parked overnight on the streets. Insurance is incredible due to theft risk and cost of bikes, look at how security on cars has improved since 1970s. RT has had an electric screen since at least the mid 1990s and still the switchgear is not illuminated.
I’d rather have a twin spark 1150 GSA with cruise control, less likely to be stolen, who needs all the electronics which will probably fail and with 1200s onwards you can not afford for the bike not to be covered by a warranty, although bmw are now changing drive shafts every K60km.
An around the world bike and it weighs 269kg wet+ plus luggage. I don't think so. Make sure you ride with a weight lifter
I looked at a PCP on the non adventure version. £3500 down and 36 payments of £200, that's £10,700 over three years of ownership (or non-ownership since you have to give it back at the end). £10,700 divided by 3 (years) divided by 15 (about how many times I get out in the summer) = £237 per ride. Make your own mind up but I think that's expensive for a Sunday afternoon out in Derbyshire dales.
Wow, so rational… I guess you must have a very boring life. Wonderful moments in life are priceless, remember that.
Downfall of Harley was because of its stubborn nature , BMW should learn something out of it and accept that they have done a big blunder to its ADV design.
Both the 1300GS and GSA are awful…The 1250GSA definitely looks 1000% better than the new version.
In fact the lowest you can get is 790mm seat height. With low seat plus adaptive height control system.
I watch the video because of the sentence “One Expensive Problem” and I heard none
Towards the end.
Your T-shirt is better than that overpriced Bavarian crap 😂
It really is an ugly duckling
Plenty of recalls already.
It's a BMW, what's new.
Have you noticed if the gear - foot lever - is made of metal, or plastic ?
Not too worried about the looks but I think BMW product planners might have misread the market with both 900 and 1300 GSAs being way too heavy. Think there is a big market for a 190-200kg GSA. Bring it on!
a 800 boxer shaft drive round 10k that woud be a killer bike
@@an-shunlin2473shaft drive doesn't make a bike really appealing to many 🤷
You only have an opinion, they have data, analysis, research outcomes
Wrong tee shirt. Heaven and Hell was Black Sabbath.
The only part of that discombobulated conglomeration that doesn't offend my retinas is the little exhaust can.
Butt ugly! My R1250GSA's value just shot up.
Doubt it
Only in your head😂
Yet the 1250GSA value is at $14k...
Adaptive ride height comfort with low seat is a seat height of 790mm lowest setting.
It's ugly as....! I see they have used some of the design cues from their electric range.
Why would anyone want a bigger muffler?! That's stupid, it's just takes room and makes one of the panniers smaller. I would prefer it if it doesn't exist at all.
My brain can't understand why there is no storage space in rectangular side tank shrouds.
Call it ugly now but in a years time or sooner you’ll look at the old GSA and see it as dated. Cars, motorbikes … they’ve all changed over the years and our attitudes with them. Says he who has just traded my GSA1250 for the new 1300 with ASA 😂
Gross bike, always will be..
It's better in the flesh than in the photos, but I still wouldn't buy one over my 1250GS. It's too expensive and has too many bells and whistles. There are some great prices here in the UK on used 1250GS/GSA as people change over to the 1300s.
Main question is... How the hell did they bring that behemoth upstairs 🤔 🤔 🤔
The beak is too square…waiting for the after market to fix it.
The Harley Adaptive Suspension is automatic?
It is. No difference function-wise. He should do more research.
5:22 Oh, buddy... 10 liters of fuel certainly don't weigh 10 kg!
7kg. Fair enough.
It's missing a Turret and two tracks.
Long way home guy is best motorcycle reviewer, excluding fortnine
Square and blocky never works around the front end of a bike. Bike designers have been producing beautiful curved designs for decades. Bikes look better with curves. It seems that modern designers have forgotten this and are inheriting the sh*tty blocky ugly square SUV car design into bikes. Who cares how good it is or not? The sheep will hoover it up on finance and it’ll hit the top of the sales charts. I can’t think of a more pointless bike in production… and I have thought long and hard 😂
Looks awesome, the older GS will look pretty aged pretty quickly when these hit the roads
To expensive, to complicated, pcp only? No ones going to want it past warranty, good luck to anyone that wants one 😉
BMW should have dubt it the LEGO GS 😂
Such an ugly bike...
Overpriced crap
What was the big problem you clickbaited us? Ugh.
🤮🤮🤮
It's a poser bike overweight and overcybered rendering it unsuitable for real adventures.
Harley drops automatically as well.
So What's the expensive problem then.
How about that shaft drive?
Dont like it. So I just saved myself €27,000. 😂
The entire design team should be fired! Ugliest redesign I have ever seen.
Been about weight saving as emissions get strichter having bigger engine compensates but u have be careful not increase weight of the bike. Big weighty bike no fun off road, plus BMW know how successful Honda been with reintroduce Africa Twin very popular off road bigger capacity bike.
@@rthoc71 The Africa Twin is successful because of the DCT...
Hello from Norway. Thanks for taking the time to show us around the bike. I do agree with you on every point about the pricing of the new R1300GSA, Since I have a 2022 R1250GSA 40 year anniversary with most of the 719 aded you can't stop the configurator on the new basic bike. If you configure the new bike with all the options like my bike and of course with the new ASA the leap up to the new bike is like looking at the stars trying to reach it! YOU WILL NEVER GET THERE!
In Norway a fully loaded, option 719 new R1300GSA costs 503.000,- NOK and that's 41.900,- EUR. That's more than many would pay for this kind of bike!
If I win the lottery it might be the next bike for me!
Kol
BMW's claim to fame, what makes them distinct, is the ugliness of their cars and motorcycles.
It looks hideous 🤮
To everyone who says it looks awful , i bought a 1300 gs and in person it looks very nice , everyone at the job that sees it tell me congratulations nice bike. Also it handle so much better , feels better , then the 1250 . Don’t ride it because you’ll love it…
A BMW R1**0 GS without luggage boxes is like a gay without an iphone.
A gay what? Human? Monkey? Living creature? Everyone gotta stoopid smart phone, dumb commentor....
@@jamesonpace726 yes, you. I meant you when I said gay.
First time BMW actually made nice looking bike and the front light is just amazing. Bye bye scaffolding
