Loved this video! Just received my S1 and this video helped me get it set up and ready to use. I am new to a laser tool but your videos are awesome! Thank you for doing what you do!
Thank you, Angie. .........I think I'm going to save for another two more months and go for the S1 😬. I also like the larger working area. THANK YOU for all you do!
This information was very helpful. I appreciate the pros and cons and the comparisons. I am not ready to use a laser at this time but the information will help in the future and I think it is good to know for those that are ready. Thank you Angie. 🙂
They are EVERYWHERE right now! I cannot tell you how many I shooed out of the shot! They are actually an Asian lady beetle and not a traditional lady bug. And a huge pain!!
Hi. I'm just dipping my tow into laser engraving so thank you for your detailed tutorials. My primary need is to be able to do personalization on my cutting boards as I am beginning to be asked to do commissions and I'm losing some opportunities as a result. Looking beyond that, I would like to be able to do some cutting, particularly small router templates. Can I ask, when you say the diode laser is not suitable for clear acrylic, is that from an aesthetic perspective or will it just not cut it cleanly? For my purpose, the aesthetic wouldn't matter as long as the cut was physically clean. Thanks again. Shane.
Hey Angie! Which do you prefer? The x tool s1 or the WeCreat? I thought I was sold on the WeCreat but I didn't like how it didn't seem 'easy' to change the heads on the WeCreat. I would be cutting wood and engraving so I want to be able to switch it easy - however, I like the camera and the fact that it moves up and down. Also I like the larger working area of the x ToolS1. Ugh. What do you think? I've been saving and I'm ready to pull the trigger but now I don't know!! Thanks in advance!
Both the WeCreat and the xTool have an option to change the head and the process is roughly the same for both. It may be a little easier on the xTool if you don't have an air assist. I don't find the camera is necessary. I thought I would not like the xTool machines without a camera but with the laser light that shines down I can easily locate my cuts/engraving.
I can’t make a decision, I’m thinking to buy this xtool S1 or glowforge Aura, I have already the xtool d1pro, but wanted something else for smaller projects, I really like the camera on the aura but this has more features and is the same cost, what would you do? 😮😢
Thank you for your videos. I have the xtool S1 20w, and I need you to do something with acrylic. I have been trying to cut, but it burns them. I have some xtool, some of the glowforge acrylic and some of the hobby lobby cast acrylic. And I'm losing hope. I know that I cannot cut clear or translucent. Please, please, please test out different acrylics and make a video. Please. Thanks for considering, Lizbeth
Great laser machine, unfortunately it's not designed properly. The lid allows leak of toxic fumes. The fan is extremely weak. The hose doesn't have a support system and any wind may send the fumes back into your workplace. If you use it in an extremely well ventilated area and, preferably, in an open air workplace, you'd be fine.
I didn't have any issues with the lid leaking. I did notice some issues around the window but that was fixed by using a towel to plug up the window space. After that, everything seemed fine. I am going to add the air filter to this to see what difference that will make.
This was the most helpful video I’ve found to help me set up my S1. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!

Thank you! Great info … noticed you had a little lady bug helping you to set up the cords - lol😊

A diode laser will not even make a mark on clear acrylic.

Thank you for a very helpful video🙏🙏
I just purchased s1 10 w, I it’s my first machine . Can it cut gold acrylic mirror?
I have not tried it in this machine. You may have some issues as it is a diode laser. Maybe just get a small piece to try.

I would do the S1 instead of the Aura if I could afford it!
Thank you for all the great information! Definitely helpful!!! Have you ever used (or do you plan to use/review) the We Creat Vision?
Maybe in the future. I have content planned out for some other lasers during the first half of the year however.
Great job - informative as always.
Glad you enjoyed it
You can buy an enclosure for the D1 Pro. I have one.
Do you have an opinion on which machine, the we create or the x toolps1, would work better engraving full wraps on 40oz tumblers?
S1 works great for engraving tumblers! You do need the rotary attachment and riser base.
does it matter what table you're using? Wood? Metal table? Plastic? does the system get really hot while it's running.
I have not found it to get hot.
Hey I was just wondering if you still planned on making some other videos on the S1 and if you had any ideas for good suppliers for engravable blanks?
Yep! Video coming tomorrow actually using the S1. And I have another one in the works for engraving metal blanks.

Hmmm....okay! I haven't had that issue so I am not sure what it could be.
Does this require an extension to vent the fumes out a window?
The hose that comes with it reaches out of my window fine.
Air assist would help prevent the charring on the cut.
Yep! I wanted to make this video with ZERO extra accessories however.
Air assist should not be considered an extra accessory - it is part of what makes any laser work properly.
Do you have a video o the D1 Pro?
I do not.
The Machine turn on only if I connect to the pc?
Nope once you connect to your wifi you don't have to use the cord again.
I just buy my xtool s1 I have no idea what to do 😂
Set it up first of all! I would make a simple cut maybe on wood first just to test things out!
Technically, you selected each of your objects, not layers as both objects are on the same layer.
