Don't get me wrong, I really like Valby, but I would like to see her finish behind Tuohy. On another IMPORTANT note....... How come I can find pretty much every regional race EXCEPT THE ONE TUOHY IS IN.....Unless I pay to be on a certain sight? I can't even get Tuohy's race at the Nutty Combe........I am most irritated about that :(
Katelyn Tuohy and Valby is a very anticipated race. IMO Valby will surprise. The competition with NC State and Alabama will also be interesting. We hear very little about the rest of the country. Personally I'm rooting for Natlie Cook the freshman from OK State. IMO she will be the next NCAA star
Valby's fast, but NC State had the 1-2-3-7-12, finishers in their race. Someone like Kelsey Chmiel could pace Tuohy for a while, give her a chance to not expend 100% energy early. Tuohy's teammates won't be able to go with a big move, but can go at a slightly higher pace than most. If Valby/Tuohy decide it's time to go, they're gone, but NC State could play a role in when/how that happens. Depends on NC State's team aspirations too I guess. Do they care about a bunch of high finishes? Or would they be willing to burn Kelsey Chmiel or Samantha Bush as a pacer, to keep Tuohy with Valby for longer under less stress, if she goes early? Valby's teammates, may attend?. Raw individual speed endurance vs possible team tactical superiority. Either way, as long as they are both healthy and the conditions on race day are decent, it'll be worth tuning in.
@@donshields2379 I suspected they'd give it a shot. I'll be honest, I don't watch enough of this stuff to have a good grasp on how the regions stack up against one another. So even with NC State doing well in their previous races I didn't know if they had a chance at Nationals. If they go for the team win, that changes the ways they can run to help Tuohy. Anyway, it's going to be interesting.
19:17.20. PV ran outdoor 5K last year at 15:20, right? That's an average of 3:04 per 1000m. So, this being 6K, another 1000m makes it 18:24 or so on the flat track & field outdoor track. There's inclines here and one "contrary to popular belief a 180m hill on this course" noted by the commentator. He also mentioned the course was "smooth". So, in relation to other regionals, I don't know how to take this & compare, to say, Katelyn Touhy. Touhy has teammate Chmiel to push her along. PV doesn't have a teammate up there to stride w/her. There is intelligent points thru the comments here by others, at least making the point about cutting corners. Not only did PV not cut corners all the time, but running 6-8 wide by the others following in a group definitely loses ground on top of the cutting of corners. Too bad there was no one here to push PV to see what she could do. PV has the stride & seemingly doesn't breathe hard when she's done on the two races I witnessed her running against Touhy last year after she passed the finish. Is her coaching by her coach (don't know how to spell it) doing the swimming training aspect against doing the knee-jarring constant running these others train, a la Touhy & Coach Henes, a better approach? I've heard mixing up training works. (a la like me, I'm a couch potato. I lay one direction, then mix it up laying the other direction. Then I sit up, slouched. Then when my butt gets sore, I get up & head to the kitchen, return, & do it all over again, until next circuit-couching, I get up & hit the bathroom)
this course looks beautiful unlike that nasty Terre Haute course in the Midwest. National Championship should be held at this joint. I see some rolling hills too👀
@@johnanderson5031 😂 fitness is fitness. I see Valby putting the bite on early and holding KT underwater. Gator roll 🐊 gonna be an incredible race no matter what!
Valby vs Tuohy is gonna be so hype next weekend
@Titanium Man Nope.
Valby is the 'XC fan favorite' ;-)
Difference imo is that Touhy looks like a stone-cold killer. She eeks it out over Parker (who might be slightly more talented).
@Titanium Man You very well could be right. I just look at KT as will to win exemplified.
@Titanium Man I would love to see it come down to the wire. No vested interest either way.
Parker Valby is a natural runner. She is amazing and has only been running for a couple of years.
She use to be a swimmer which helped build aerobic base.most of her training is cross training and she runs about 2-3 days a week.
Smoke Show. Parker makes leaps every 2-3 months. taking no prisoners. Can't wait to see her and KT next week. Love watching the progress.
@@icarus8471 a lot of young talent.
Thanks for recording this
What kind of stream doesn't have a timer
These ladies are doing awesome. PArker is really something.

Thanks for posting this. You should really use a gimbal or a camera with image stabilization.
can you post all regions?
This has to be the widest course I've ever seen

@@icarus8471 what is that connection? I don't believe it will be muddy so a clean race.

I believe NC States aspirations are to win.

NC State went with team tactics over individual aspirations. It worked out.
you called it. NC State stayed together till the end.
The camera shake is very distracting.
Bro she’s taking everything so wide lol. What’s she doing.
awesome insight!
💪
At the 15:48 mark the coach is asking her what is she doing?
Somebody, anybody, teach her to run the tangents.
I would have liked to watch the pack run. After all, cross country is a team sport. All we saw was the one runner that was ahead.

She runs easy flat courses. She will not do well against KT.

Valby is just a soph?
Poor announcers poor camera video viewing.
Parker is extremely good .. but a KT she is not .. she will always lose to Tuohy.
The camera shake is very distracting.
