    Note to other businesses--this is how you do advertising that's not annoying in the 21st century. Sweetwater gets advertising, the pedalboard designer/builder Mason gets a shout-out, the guitarist shows his thing, Mitch gets some respect, and the individual pieces of gear get shout-outs.

    I'd have to echo what others are saying about the blurring of the board: The blurred pedal effect isn't very effective when trying to put focus on one of the pedals. You might be better off darkening (turning the brightness down) on the pedals that aren't being talked about.

    I'm new to pedalboard stuff but definitely interested and trying to get into building and experimenting with my own currently... The thing i noticed about this is how **quiet** it was too! And without any sort Noise Gate or Noise Suppression built in... Can anybody explain why that is? My board is pretty **crazy** noisy at times, partly because i've got a cheaper non-isolated Power brick running it, i think, but I'm amazed at how **little** noise this board has for as much as he has on there!?

    There are much better octave/ pitch shifters out than the dubious DigiTech.
    Beautiful Bender and Drive, though(long live Ronson),- and those Danelectro's ARE the best.
    When your running a buffer before of after a Ge fuzz(or boost, or drive), you WILL lose part of the characteristic sound.Whether or not that's noticeable in a live situation is questionable, and some seem to prefer the cleaner overall signal .I always try to keep buffers late in the chain, or in a TB loop, to isolate and minimalize negative impact.But HE is the seasoned pro.

  • @colebowman2833

    Is there really no pedal switcher on that board? Or did I miss it? Idk how you could keep your tone with that many pedals. Whether they are true bypass or not, idk how that could work. I lose most dynamic range with 6 or 7 pedals on a board without a switcher and they are good pedals. Analogman, wampler etc. I only use a fuzz, kot, mod tube screamer and an analog delay. That is all I need and about all I can put on a board before I don't like what's happening. Also, pedals just eventually get in the way of playing for me. Ymmv.

    • @VertexEffectsInc
      @VertexEffectsInc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A pedal switcher can be mitigated if you have the right, high quality, buffering on a board, good quality cables, and power. Of course, switchers will be the easier path to achieve this since you can isolate every loop from one another. But a switcher can also sound so-so if the cabling is bad or the buffering is poor (which is true of many switcher out there - having bad buffers in them). Also, switcher can be situational, live performance of the same music makes switchers more practical, you can save the set list in presets and banks - however for RJ, he didn't need that as it was a studio board where each tone is called up to order - ala carte. This makes presets not so practical, and with a rig already this large, adding a switcher would have added 30%. If I could change one thing about this rig it would have been to put a buffer on the return of the effects loop and on the output going to the amp, but as it was, we had less than a day to build the rig before NAMM and this is what RJ had available. It still sounded great, but I think could have been slightly more neutral if we could have got, say, a Mesa Boogie Highwire on there.
