  • Tried different products to clean this. Elbow grease worked the best. Not CLR, Paint Stripper, Goof Off....nothing.

My home kitchen was last remodeled about 1952 and I have the full compliment of a Youngstown Kitchen set-up complete with a window and the curved open shelves facing the window. I have this exact model of Porcelain-coated sink. I like it very much. If it were a dual basin I would like it even better. But if I ever renovate, I will keep the sink top and install new cabinets under it. I will add a spray hose to the fourth fixture opening or perhaps install an under-sink water filtration unit with the tap from that using the fourth fixture opening.

BarKeeper's friend rocks! I use it on my sink all of the time and that is why my sink, I have this same unit, is always pearly white. I then spray my sink with furniture polish. You know this unit is why I bought this house 12 years ago. Lol. I'm redoing the kitchen now. This is on my list next. Man, I love this unit. I have a mid-century modern kitchen. We all know there isn't anything you could purchase today that will still be in use 75 years from now.

Goofoff is great for grease. I have had great success with it. I suggest you get a circular sanding attachment for your drill. Save your arms. Thanks for sharing. Becky from Kansas City

This looks like limescale. It is dissolved into the water and deposited into the sink. We get it in the UK. A light acid will help.

Once you're done cleaning it, a reglazing to a shiny white finish would look awesome!

Did you try oven cleaner? I've had good luck with that on some things, too. Wishing you could still get MEK?
