  • This video is part of a highly condensed introduction to probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA), based on the book "Seismic Hazard and Risk Analysis" by Jack Baker, Brendon Bradley, and Peter Stafford (Cambridge University Press, 2021).
See www.pshabook.com for a discount to purchase the book, code demonstrating seismic hazard calculations, and more.
This video discusses metrics of ground motion intensity and defines the popular intensity measure Spectral Acceleration. The mathematical form of ground-motion models (GMMs) is then introduced. Finally, observational data, and two example ground motion models, are used to illustrate trends in ground motion intensity as a function of the earthquake's magnitude and distance.

Thank you, professor. Can you make a video on how to calculate weights for GMPEs used in PSHA with example. It will be very helpful.
