Nice little compact rifle/pistol.
These back pack rifles are really becoming popular.
It makes perfect sense, because your more likely to keep this with you when camping, fishing, or hiking. In that case you don't need pinpoint accuracy and high shot count. You need something to take out small game at close distance. Being light weight and maneuverable means more than anything else in that environment.

I really appreciated this review as I had a .177 Atomic XR on order and just received it this last week. As I don’t have a chronograph the only reference I have on speed is the five shot group set up from AOA, 770-775 with the 9.56 QYS pellets. I purchased it primarily to use as a pistol in Field Target Pistol and then as a carbine with my grandchildren 7-13 years old, where the adjustable stock is perfect. I’m using a UTG Bug Buster 3-12 x 40 and on 8 power it is about perfect. It hits 3/8 inch diameter holes (Field target training out to 18-20 yds and 5/8 inch holes out to 33 yds). I have the short 4 1/2 inch 0dB moderator and it’s great. I get 3 mags on a fill or 39 shots. It also shoots JSB 10.3s to same POI as the 9.56 QYS. I’m tickled. 2 MOA holdover at 10 yds and 20-30 yds is about flat.

Excellent review you are covering all the things people want to know and not just 3-5 shot groups and wrap it up like that is some kind of conclusion that would do anyone any good. I just wanted to add that the hammer spring wants to go in one way, mine is slightly more honed to fit inside the hammer properly, it's very easy to see and easier to feel, the flat end to the adjuster. I just got done polishing the internals thanks to you giving me more confidence in its simplicity. Brocock is a solid duty gun with match performance and the build quality you pay for, don't ever second guess a Brocock people.

I love your work. My Atomic .22 arrived today. After a nap I'll completely watch this video. Need to adjust trigger. It's about 5 pounds out of the box! On anotehyr note, I'd like to sehnd you a Stoeger XM1 Ranger and/or Scout in .22 and/or .25 for you to review. Extremely accurate. Mine gets ZERO SD ! IF YOU WANT I'LL SEND YOU CHRONO AND TARGET.

Excellent guide, thank you for doing this! The advice of "whatever you do, keep the muzzle velocity around 700 FPS" is golden! I am going to guess that part of this may vary depending on the added mass of the moderator, but the correlation of accuracy versus muzzle velocity is spot on. I have a .177 Ranger XR now set up to shoot HN Barracuda GREEN 6.64gr at 700 FPS, great accuracy from about 175 bars down to 110 bars for 40 shots.

I had no idea Brocock is owned by Daystate.
You sure make a good point on the Weihrauch HW44 (which was my FIRST PCP crush !) and the 2021 Brocock Atomic.
Brocock is not owned by Daystate. They were purchased by the Diana Group back in 2014 which currently owns Daystate, Breda and Marocchi............
To adjust stage 2 of trigger you need to take frame off, won't be done through trigger guard.

He does not mean actually hunting big game. In the case of turkeys, in some states, you can hunt Turkey with an Airgun (California is an example). I’ve taken Turkey with a TX200, so its no problem with a PCP. HOWEVER, what he means by keeping it as a backpack gun when hunting big game is to shoot small game while hunting big game.
Hmm...this with a bunch of Terminators, plenty of jacks and cottontails around here. Could make a nice bunny reducing combo for sure!
What are your thoughts on using felt "cleaning pellets"?
Do you think your results would be similar with a .117 cal? As far as velocity and accuracy? Probably a dumb question.

My Atomic XR .22 didn't come with any washer nor any of the two hammer spring adjuster that you discussed. Are those supposed to be included? I got mine at Central Florida Airguns which obviously gets them from AOA distribution side.

Dang for the price the carbine should have a law tactical style folding stock and front foster fill in front and gauge on side. My prod is custom build with pic rial side lever 22 cal 10 round with ar trigger frame style and grip with a law tactical folding stock and hammer spring adjuster and plentum sleeve with a huma regulator a Donny fl on front and pick rial on sides 16in lw barrel. air gun and rebuild it was about 1/2 that price tag.
Where can I get zero degree vertical grip.
Great looking gun I might be wrong . I think you will not need a driver's air tank to fill it. a hand pump work good on it .
With the tiny amount of air, I agree that a pump should be fast enough. And some of the new pumps are tiny enough to throw in a backpack.

I’d get an HW44 if they made a brace for it. Weihrauch makes amazing airguns.

You have review many different kind of gun. I have one question. What is your favourite air gun, what cal.?
I've enjoyed so many in all the different calibers, it's impossible to say. The product lines that impress me most overall are FX, Weihrauch, Daystate, Kalibrgun, Air Arms, Ataman, and Brocock... probably in that order. Lot's of other good brands out there but the above seem to be trying the hardest to bring BOTH quality and performance. Steve

I know they’re in a completely different class, but for the price I’d rather get a Wildcat Mk3 compact, or Maverick compact. Sure, they can’t be broken down to a pistol, but I would leave the stock (brace) on the Brocock anyway.

Awesome truck gun or backpack gun. Wish I could put a stock like that on my .22 cal Diana Bandit with its 50cc air cylinder, un-regulated. I would have to remove the Burris 3X pistol scope and use a rifle scope, but it’ll do till I can afford the Atomic. Really cool gun. What would be equally cool is a head to head between a sub 200$ Bandit and this 1500$ gun. 😉 Yeah…I bet not much difference in accuracy @ 25-30 yards, just 4-5 more FPE max with the Atomic. ' Buck Rail ' and myself are working on a collapsible stock similar to the Artimis PP750 stock for the Bandit. We want the price point to be about $50.00 . See the 2240 AR 6 position stock just released by Buck Rail.

I guess I'll have to join AGN, I'm on GTA mostly. I looked at this as soon as I saw the product announcement, would love it to have this but too much for me right now. I bet the loctite on the stock is their fix to keeping it UK compliant. I wouldn't be surprised if they stake it too.
Off topic, do you have a good way to remove lead fouling? I spent about 2 hours with balistol and patchworm cleaning my Bulldog. Broke out my borescope and saw a pile of lead still attached. After only about 200 to maybe 250 rounds it was a mess and now I'm trying to fix it.
Yes. Pull 3 (6 sides) wet Balistol patches through to soak the barrel walls and allow to sit overnight. The following morning clean as usual. This always works for me. But the.lead will keep re-building in that barrel defect until fixed. For barrel burs and high spots, I like JB Bore paste on a soft metal brush pulled back & forth 20 times, followed by a bore mop with JB Bore paste pulled back & forth 20 times. Kroil on a fresh bore mop then patches is my go to for removing the JB from the barrel. The barrel must be removed from the gun and its o-rings must be removed before you treat it with JB and Kroil. Clean with Balistol to remove the Kroil before replacing the o-rings. Steve
@@aeacvlog2033 Thank you. I have the barrel out and soaked with Balistol last night. I did run some copper Chore Boy scrubber through yesterday, but it only got half the barrel. Need to pick up some brushes today if I can find them locally. I ran some J-B last night on some patches and it helped, but again only for half the barrel. Need to flip it around and come in from the other side.
I also emailed Crosman last night, hopefully they will help me out with a discount on a new barrel, this is only a little over 1 year old, but I've added a depinger and shot "not approved" ammo so I'll claim part of the blame. But a lot of the ammo has been their $1 per round Benjamin Nosler stuff. The Nosler round is my reference to compare all others, if it won't group as well, it won't get used. I have a few that work well from Griffin, and 1 cast round that I need to shoot more. And a couple other cast rounds that I just started making and testing.

UK. When you are limited to 12 ft pds can you get the best from tuning at lower pellet speeds?
I honestly don't know. Below 685 fps I was having trouble getting the .22 pellets to stabilize. Perhaps there, .177 would be a better choice. Steve
@@aeacvlog2033 this is the challenge in the UK. Even a 8.44 gr 177 JSB is restricted to 800 FPS and the is
running to the limit of of the law. Over that will get you 5 years in prison. In future perhaps you could do a tuning guide with a 12 ft pd restriction, understanding it would be out of the kindness of your heart as I don't think any manufactor would pay you for it.
@@robrobertson1586 I actually tried with this one but as mentioned, I couldn't get the pellets to stabilize below about 16 fpe in .22... which is why I'd recommend. 177 for it over there. Regarding payment to tune for 12 fpe, I have actually tried on everything I've done a tuning guide on and it never works with the guns we get here. Talking to the manufacturers, this is because our guns get different weighted hammers, hammer springs, and internal porting which make "flat" 12 fpe tunes with them impossible. All the same rules apply though. Just watch one of my late tuning guides on anything (Avenger, Crown Continuum, Dreamline Saber Tac) and do that there to yours. Best, Steve

Brocock's are good gun's; so they run on the not cheap side of things...
In the UK air pistol power is limited to 6ftlb and rifle 12ftlb you can go higher with rifle but you need a firearms certificate (licence) if you want to fire pistols in the UK look at lbp pistol uk you will laugh.
