Thank you Andy for your view on the rifle. You right to say it is good. I didn't realize how good it was until I bought a .177" with a laminate stock. Wow it's amazing! This is a precision rifle from it's engineering to it's accuracy. Everything about the RAW is solid. With it's beautiful light trigger, it makes this a delight to use. In my mind you are paying for a top quality rifle and using it has justified the price tag. Best regards Steve.
First time we've seen a "bad" review from Andy. That said he gave them plenty of time to amend the design and provide a response. Honesty, particularly when someone could spend £2k on rifles partly on online reviews is no doubt greatly appreciated.
Thank You. It was clear you did not enjoy the gun, especially at the price point. Yet you still managed to present a fair and honest review. Highlighting the positives and not dwelling on the negatives. I agree 100% on the safety. Turning off the safety should not increase the chances of an unintentional discharge. The price point on it is obscene, even by American standards. For 2 grand (3 when kitted out) I can purchase 2 well equipped rifles and have a few pennies left over. Keep up the good work Andy, even us here in the colonies appreciate the quality of your reviews.
well it wont get the accuracy of the raw thou.. the raw i have ia a 177 and its doing 5 mm ctc groups at 50 yards..... its insane accuracy from any small arm at that range... ANY
Never have understood any manufacturer putting a safty catch on or near the trigger. Why ?. Could not agree more with all of the comments you have raised. Honest review as always.
I think the idea is that it's much easier to make the gun safe and requires a conscious action to switch to the fire position, and there are military weapons that use a similar configuration, which suggests there must be a good reason for it. All the same, it does look a little awkward to use, especially with such a light trigger.
Great vid, many thanks. I hate that type if in trigger safety having a very cheap Crosman copy of a Gamo set up like that. In Sub12 doesn't stack up for the money when you could get an HW100 or S510 for half of that.

Excellent review, as always. I love watching Andy tying himself in knots trying to find positive things to say when it's so obvious that he just doesn't like the gun. This looks like style over substance to me, they've ruined what could be a genuinely great gun in order to capture a bit of nostalgia appeal, it looks like the woodwork started off as a cricket bat and then had the minimum of machining done to make it function as a gunstock, which is a shame because the matching between the cheek-riser and the rest of the butt is fantastic and must have cost a mint. And I agree totally that the safety would have me accidentally firing it, with my big old hands. There are too many fantastic guns at the two grand mark for this to even get close to making my wants list, it isn't out-performing guns that cost half that and have far less coffin-shaped woodwork.
Great review Andy, i'll not be swapping my Daystate or FX anytime soon,it's certainly devisive with that stock, it really does not do it any justice at all,😐
Good shot count, great cocking lever, well made , exellent trigger , superbly accurate, even keeping things tight an extra 10 metres further than you test other guns. Honest reveiw though and a tough gun to pigeon hole, it's neither a rather or a bench rest but looks solid, like a big plank of wood should, maybe they should approach minelli for a style overhall, or is it a gun to be fettled by the owners to fit, like a target pistol.

Hello Andy, I do know the original Theatre Barnes and have used some so I do know they capabilities but for such a great action and barrel, my personal opinion of it is that the stock kind of spoils it.
Can't fault your review for its honesty and balance. It's a shame that such a beautifully laminated stock has been fashioned to be so visually clunky. I'm drawing parallels with my AA HFT 500 stock, also laminated but much more aesthetic and ergonomic. Shame also that given every opportunity the manufacturer has not been responsive to you.
A Minelli designed stock would improve its looks, although I think the idea was to remind buyers of its lineage. A better placed safety and a lighter bottle would improve things too. . .in my opinion anyway.
I know you cant compare apples and oranges but the price point on these rifles compared to rimfire rifles is crazy. As a theoben rapid mk2 owner I'd rather use this still over this new version.

Hello Andy, I put off watching this video as I still have a Theoben Rapid in .20 calibre, and didn't want to hear that it's out of date. It probably is, but it's still better looking than that American take on the original idea by Ben and Dave in the time the internet forgot. I think that wood is designed for benchrest target work, that seems pretty popular over the pond and there's big money involved. As far as the magazine goes, that's a pet hate of mine, they're getting bigger and bigger which dictates the scope mounting options, fine if you're shooting prairie dogs at 100 yards but not when it's a rat 6' away.....
Hi Andy, thanks for the video mate, judging from your target results it's accurate, but alot of cheaper airguns can do the same , and have a proven track record. I met both Dave and Ben when they bought a couple of prototype Sciroccos to my local gunshop Russell Walkyer, I remember being stunned by the engineering and deep black on the metalwork. Both rifles looked identical. I had a couple of shots in the back of the shop, no open sights or fitted scope just to try, remember how different they felt to a spring gun. I did buy one of the early ones. On the subject, would I pay that much for the RAW, sorry no
At this price with old fashioned barrel probably not worth my money. Fx continume with smooth twist barrel, GRS stalk, fully adjustable and much cheaper will be my first choice. Andy as usual is excellent when it comes to presenting a new product. Well done sir
Wow 😲 2 grand for a laminated 4x2, forget that and buy a new BSA which is pure class compared to this rifle or any other one for that matter, can't see them selling too many of these in this country, the usual use for this rifle is bench rest at the high power setting at which they do pretty well and have accumulated quite a following in the USA, but for this country my computer said no, love all your reviews Andy thanks ATB Dave
Good morning Andy, on the face of it a good looking rifle ! But then it feels flat wood stock . You don't get much for your money ? The loudness is rubbish. If it was a lot cheaper! I would consider it ! Thank you Andy , fabulous review today ... Cheers Simon
Well done on a fair review Andy. Certainly trip down memory lane. Safety poor, stock pretty but to chunky for me. It's a lot of money really ok on the bench but to carry this beast around all evening and still shoot accurately mmm not for me. Cheers Garry 😎👍
Looks gorgeous but way too spendy for me to ever contemplate. Sounds like the stock could do with some fettling to get it more ergonomic (a custom job if you're already spending silly money) and the safety inside the trigger guard is just a bad idea. A cross-bolt safety in the same location would be far better. I imagine in the higher calibres and power levels they'll need significantly longer barrels, making them even heavier and more unwieldy.
Marmite rifle for some then? I don’t like marmite. Fair review Andy, I’d rather spend my money on an AGT. Just as accurate, better looking, better ergonomics and plenty ££’s left over.
Yes a lot of money for that rifle.Didn’t like where the safety is and I think the lack of a moderater is poor for that money. Well reviewed though Andy,Cheers and Atvb👍🏻😀

Anyone buying one of these must be quite loopy. Buy a rapid 7 instead. Air force do many other guns a lot cheaper as well. I have a stealth which is a beautiful gun and easy to maintain. Its been copied in all air force designs. For 2 grand you can buy a car or electric bike that takes you to a hunting spot with a kral 2po2 and change leftover. Just saying 2 grand is offensive for a block of wood with an action attached. Great review Andy, do a few pistols as well, always look forward to them.

yes the stock is like 2x3 like if they ran out of money the stock not a patch on old Theoben 17 or M stocks
hi its good to hear a review that tells the truth with good bad thanks m8 ian
Looks agricultural perhaps its best use is banging in fence posts with its stock.cheers Andy
Ye give me a hw10 or a r10 so much better and less than half the price keep the reviews coming Andy I really enjoy them thanks david
Andy you need to do a review on a Anschutz 9015. It'll be your new gold standard for a sub 12 target rifle 🙂
it looks like someone has been whittling on that stock
To me it looks like a wierauch HW 100 with a form stock In my opinion
Did it feel like a new rapid?
At that price point, I'd play it safe with a brand known for quality in the UK or Germany, personally.
Marmite rifle for some then? I don’t like marmite.
Fair review Andy, I’d rather spend my money on an AGT. Just as accurate, better looking, better ergonomics and plenty ££’s left over.
Theoben 7 was a brilliant rifle in its day....but that thing.....who ever passed the stock design.....wants a kick up the arse
Yes a lot of money for that rifle.Didn’t like where the safety is and I think the lack of a moderater is poor for that money.
Well reviewed though Andy,Cheers and Atvb👍🏻😀
Some products just make you ask "Why?"...
No safety catch should ever be within the trigger guard. No idea why multiple airgun companies insist on doing this? :(
TIME AT 9;02 the grip is made to be a thumb up for target shooting not a wrap around grip .......this grip was made for a thumb up position no wonder you dont like the grip using the grip in a hand position is was not meant for..........remeber thumb up ojn the grip
At that price point , customers should expect excellence approaching perfection . Nonresponsive companies do themselves no favor .
Ugly doesn't begin to describe it , I'll keep my Walnut R-10 thanks all the same ...
In Andy-speak, that's a proper pasting. He just oozed dislike from the off. I'll pass on this one.
I love your honest rewiev it deffo needs a bit fetling and for the money I wouldn't want to . I'd rather get a hold of a trusty rapid 7 and have it looked at was a great gun back in the day (couple weeks ago to me )
but great honest rewiev
thanks for your hard work I know that can't of been easy .
👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🦕😁✌️🤞
