    Today we are installing a new RunTru heat pump ductless mini split in a room above the garage. The space currently has an old worn out PTAC through the wall unit, time for an upgrade! Using the Navac powered flaring tool makes the job so much easier. When it comes to HVAC installation, using the proper process in crucial. Here's my process.     Nice work 👏 love doing mini splits. I've done around 200 of em and it's nice to see someone install one with pride and obvious knowledge. Love the flaring tool! I still do it by hand but that looks like an investment I need to make lol

    I am an engineer but have a electrical background, absolutely love the added steps you do to show off your work but a genuine concern for making your job shine with professionalism buddy, everyone can learn from a right measure of OCD…LOL I myself like doing my job as if it’s for me, then you’ll never short change your customers!

    Diversitech makes ratcheting cutters for linehide. Similar to pvc cutters . They work very well

    Nice work. Did you put a lineset cover at elbow where it comes out of house? I would recommend to customer to put gravel around outdoor unit to keep dirt out of condenser.

    So not much snow in the winter months based on how high the condenser was. What state do you work in? Looking to re locate after school

    Before drill completely thru the wall behind the evap i like to yes make a lil hole but see at first if there is not a plumbing pipe in the wall or a electricity wire .
    After taking out a small piece of gypse. And see that its ok , i take my holesaw completely threw the wall

    How did you run your electrical / I don’t see a disconnect, probably should have ran liquid tight for high voltage as well.
    The install is very clean tho

    Clean install, why didn't you swedge indoor coil connections? Can cut off stubs they give you, zero chance for leaks that way.

      I always remove the flares from the indoor units . Remove one possible leak from the future 🤷🏻‍♂️😀

    Do you need wifi to run this unit? Have one in the place I just moved to but can't figure out the remote the wifi light keeps blinking & internet isn't getting hooked up until later in week.. TIA!

    What kinda blade did you use for the angle grinder to cut the line hide? It’s a great idea to get ‘em both cut.

    Why no risers or stand? You said heat pump right in the winter time the condenser will make water and may freeze, other than that nice clean job!!

      Heatpump mini splits don’t need risers.

      That is not necessarily true. If installed in a “cold climate” risers or a stand should be used. Maybe not in Tennessee where I believe this installation took place.

    is it not easier coming out on the left side of the head,straight down,with the flares inside to check them for leaks easier,but the job looks good.

      Thats not the appion… i got the appion and is pink, the other thing is that this one had a curve in the entrances.. thats why i like it it looks really good for mini splits

      Run tru is made by Trane. We sell ‘em like hot cakes here in Texas

      Trane DHPs are Mitsubishi. They are partners.

      No...Runtru mini splits are made by Gree. Not Mistubishi. Just like Ameristar. Very inexpensive through Trane Supply.

    Long time follower first time writing. Why not use RLS fitting instead of using flair fitting?. I would think RLS fitting more of a secure seal for a place like that.

    Should have ran the exposed communication wire in conduit like you did for the high voltage wire. Don’t need a weed eater hitting it or rodents chewing on it. Not bashing your install, just telling you from experience.

    I was told to never use nylog on the threads, only put a drop on the inside of the flare and use your finger to spread it out. I guess if you do, it causes to the nut to back off eventually? Have you had any issues of this happening? Great work as always by the way!

      It's not wd-40 lol. The nut isn't gonna back off if you put nylog on the threads.

      Mini splits are constantly changing. Not one will last 5 years. The head unit will be a nasty fungus farm within two years

      This system is all about price. Trane Branded Minisplits are made by Mitsubishi

      @@mattthomas9354 Im a Mits dealer & AMS(trane)dealer That unit is not made by Mits. Trane uses a Co in China to make their builder grade minis, Runtru/ameristar. But recently have change to Midea manufacturing. Just saw the new stuff two weeks ago at dealer meeting. The mitsubishi/trane venture uses mits units but gives us a sticker to put on face plate that says trane or American Standard.. Anyways Installers did a good job of installing
