For those who don't click the link: We're getting the official soundtrack, an 'extended immersive musical exploration' soundtrack, and a soundtrack to accompany the book.
Memory and Mesa of Blade Runner 2049 made me feel sad and depressive, Paul's dream has that arabic vibe with a boost and power. This man can control your feelings through his music. Amazing.
Having this on repeat since I saw it the first time. Went to see it again 1 week later. Dune is a masterpiece, this movie is art. Those visuals with this sound, the sets, the atmosphere, how massive it feels, how those actors portray their characters flawlessly... I am absolutely in love with this film.
@Oswald That Ends Wald - It’s really sad how you’re commenting on every video and comment to do with Dune’s soundtrack. It’s clearly obvious you’re looking for attention. Why? Does Daddy not give you enough of it at home?
@Oswald That Ends Wald I don't understand your opinion well at all, but i don't meet it with hostility. Give me your opinion then. I personally think this music captures the feeling of Dune and especially Arakkis incredibly well. The byzantine/double harmonic scale is used pretty commonly to reflect a desert but he mixes it with synth and a gradual buildup in a way that feels incredibly powerful to me. I don't get why you call it zeitgeist when its a soundtrack to represent a period in time that doesn't exist. Zimmer clearly cares about this project very, very much, and is so inspired by it that hes creating two entire extra albums of extended music. To me thats what separates people like him and other composers (many not well known) away from the "modern film scoring" issue where everything sounds the same- because he genuinely cares about this project, and to me its payed off.
"My father came, not for spice, not for the riches, but for the strength of your people. My road leads into the desert. I can see it. If you'll have us, we will come."
Hans Zimmer is winning the Oscar for Best Score for this film. He literally created new instruments for this soundtrack. Give Hans his second win. He deserves it.
The Middle Eastern /Arabic flavour of the source material is going to inspire a lot of the movie and music. Kingdom of Heaven is last time we got to see something with big budget on screen paying homage to that culture. Going to be incredible I cannot wait.
Listen to The Children of Dune OST. They used the same elements. Really interesting they tied the Toto's and COD soundtracks and made it even more amazing.
@Teoman Doğan it has more to do with that jihad is a net negative world in pretty much every country but Islamic ones thus it makes sense for them to use crusade, they are the same thing anyway. just that one has modern negative connotations and its understandable why it has them.
@@RavenWolffe77 I mean, same goes for Crusade. And considering that it was Islam which eventually became dominant in the Dune universe culturally, hence the interstellar religion being known as Zensunni, it'd honestly make more sense for the term Jihad to outlast the term Crusade.
I went to Star Wars, Live in Concert in 2005. No film visuals but Anthony Daniels was present as a narrator. It was pretty cool. I demand a live stadium concert tour of Dune The Musical Journey!!!!
This sounds so epic! I'm wondering that this score has some Interstellar, mid-orient tunes and guitar vibes that is so SICK. I can't wait to see Dune in theaters, my fav book of all times scored by the great Hans Zimmer. I'm dying. ✨
When the music at 2:29 kicks in and Paul's leaving Caladan, that whole scene made me slump in my seat thinking "this is probably the most uniquely exhilerating film Ive watched in a long time".

I could put the original on and hae it playing with no problem on a loop, this is too muscular guitar rumbly... sounds like outtakes from Tenet soundtrack. I don't know I think I'm being reactionary to all the slander the original movie gets as if everything about it was terrible, which just isn't true. Be well.
@@ShaiHuludMaker Prophecy Theme was Brian Eno, but I agree with your take on both Toto and Zimmer. I love Leto's Theme most, especially how it blends in preceded by Robot Fight. Long Live The Fighters!!! and Toto!!!
I was thinking that myself. There is a similar mystical and non-traditional series of chord progressions that sounds very ancient and almost primordial, like something from early African or Mesopotamian culture while still being futuristic and dystopian.
@Midgeon Mac a common expression in the Dune novels, “Gods below!” I’m not sure there’s much explanation in the stories, maybe in the Dune Encyclopedia or something Brian Herbert wrote. But it doesn’t mean they worship demons, the main religion in Dune is a syncretism of Islam and Buddhism.

However, I miss some more memorable tunes, like we got in Gladiator, for example. I still hope that this is only a small preview and that they are saving the best for the film.
This has elements of Toto's Dune OST. You have to listen and realize that they also used a lot of guitar and other soundscapes. Also you can here Children of Dune OST as well with the chants and orchestra work type elements. Its a little familiar but epic all its own.
I hope this movie give the second Oscar Hans Zimmer truly deserved. I'm happy that he's an Oscar winner but win only one? Seriously, Zimmer deserved like 5 Oscars already!!!
Smh f(expletive) Incredible... Hans you probably made every composer from every tier, that was satisfied with their work , scrap it in disgust Lol. How does this man continually do it, never misses the mark and every few scores or so raises the bar & changes the game.

@Sans Nom Can't remember where I wrote that the composition is from zimmer. I said ''the soundtrack from zimmer'' - what is true because he worked on it as Matthew already stated
