I think this is mostly because how he handles the situation. When is the other way around, woman tend to feel like a victim, and shout to the all sides how she is being treated, looking for support from the other people and media. But he doesn't do that, he simply roast they back, he takes control of the situation and show them that's not ok and they should be ashamed of that behavior. Ahh.. If everybody was like this. We would have so much less butthurt everywhere, like, this type of videos wouldn't need to exist haha

As a male fan of Matt myself, he doesn't want fans because they're attracted to him, he wants his fans to find him genuinely funny, entertaining and charismatic thats what every comedian would probably want. It is completely understandable. It is similar to attractive actors having to break that barrier as well. Examples Johnny Depp, Jared Leto, Matt McCaugnahey, Leo Dicaprio, Tom Hardy. They realized early in their career that if they couldn't prove they were more than eye candy, and then their careers would run dry. Mark Wahlberg and Brad Pit still play the hot man role, but I think they'll be alright.

Matt has been on the comedy scene since he was a teen (if not before) and to see him grow from Wild 'n Out to the global recognition he has now is so rewarding to witness. He totally deserves it. I feel bad for the people discovering Matt on TikTok now and the women who take him personally. This just gives him easy material for his sets. His world tour is almost sold out, come on!!
He really has an awesome sense of humor and doesn’t really seem to be phased about a lot. He’s been “ out there” for a while and for some reason has just now got noticed in the last year. Maybe those looks helped out some but he’s SOLID funny! Keep up the good work Matt!

I found out about Matt last week and went on to binge all his clips and specials in just a couple days. Dude is hilarious, a legend in the making.

I'm a woman, and grew up watching comedians like Richard Pryor, Don Rickles, Eddie Murphy, and other comedians like them are great and never felt offended at all. My roommate introduced me to Matt because she knows the kind of humor I like and he's funny. I never understood why cancelling someone so quickly has become a game of Russian Roulette. Let the man have his preference, I mean geeze, women, mainly people today are too damn sensitive. I don't want to hear *anything* about "objectification" or "the male gaze" *ever again* after this. We now have buckets and buckets of clips of women that say they explicitly do not care about his craft and only thirst for him as a sex object (they even admit to fantasising about him *while married* 4:35), stalk him at his shows, make lewd comments about him online *and* in person, and then when he makes one joke -- which is his whole craft -- that rubs them wrong, they become way more butthurt than a dude hitting on a girl giving her the "well you were ugly anyway" after being rejected.
How about this: "women are pigs" and "you're just insecure". Taste of your own medicine. Didn't take much alcohol and likes to get them to show their true colours. Glad that we can finally say that neither gender is holier than the other.

In fact, in this case, the tables are heavily slanted; I don't see entire communities of men making videos on social media thirsting over the same woman, nor men going to a Whitney Cummings show to catcall her. You can't handwave this away as an issue of a small minority of women, because there is too much evidence to the contrary. It shows how *a lot* of women have *always* objectified and gawked at "hot" men, only now, the veneer is taken off.

Matt Rife is quickly becoming one of my favourite comedians. His timing and comebacks are perfect! Yes, he is attractive, but that doesn't mean he should be harrassed at shows by women. I got to know about Matt Rife last year and this past April I was lucky to fly to London for one of his shows. The show was so great and laughing hard from start to finish. I met him after during meet and greet, and really he is a very sweet and humble guy.Yes I get it that he is very handsome, but what I love more about him is his work, his dark sense of humor and how quick he is to respond to anyone in the audience. Of course he is a comedian so I don't get why so many people especially females want to cancel him after a specific podcast...(who probably got upset that they're not his type - which also I'm sure blondes and curvy aren't his only type lol) ...don't take the internet so seriously, he said this himself lol. I'm already gearing up for his next show when he comes back to Europe, I'd never try to cancel anyone over something I dislike or disagree with, everyone's got an opinion anyways - if someone doesn't like it, feel free to unfollow :)

Does he post video clips of women misbehaving at his shows? If so, that may be some of the problem. Do people go to his shows believing he somehow wants them to call out to him? I'm sure some just want to be in one of his social media posts? There was a woman in her 40s at one of his shows who brought him cookies and she had something wrong with her breast implants that make them squeak like a dog toy. I just saw a video of her offering to send cookies to the top 5 people who donated money. As a woman myself, I'm wondering if she's doing this to catch Rife's attention again, especially given the way she comes across in her video.

The first time I saw Matt Rife's show I genuinely thought him as a kind person, just a guy trying to have a good time, making everyone laugh(yes sometimes a little offensive but that's kinda fun!) As a disabled women once said that she felt included and special when Matt included her and her community in the joke, she felt special and included, a huge salute to such a guy who can put smiles on people's faces while being CLINICALLY depressed himself! He will go big, really big someday!

Being stuck at home during covid has made soo many people miserable and bored that now all the want to do is cause misery in someone else's life. Everyone is NOT for everyone and if you can't accept that then you is the one that need to be canceled. I'm a woman that definitely not his type but as sure as hell won't get mad cause of it.
