    I'm not counting it out. Its just might be possible. Who knows. I wish they offered a conventional version as I generally like the rotax brand.

    No, this is DOA IMO. Maybe if it had forward facing props...maybe then it could be sold on safety and for wake surfing.

      Forward facing props would do NOTHING... you still have to turn it off when anyone is in the water becasue you cloud back over or currents could drag them under.

    how do you freshwater flush that pos?

      it lifts out of the water exactly like a normal outboard... the only difference is the engines is at 90 degrees... form a normal one so it would still be just as much out of the water as a normal outboard. The only bad thing I see about this design... is extreme weight and leverage against the transom... then again transoms arent' built like they used to be....and many boats can handle 1000lb of motor so maybe no problem.

      @@Wingnut353 if they decide to sell it as a refit to other boat hulls, it may break them off easier.

    Gonna be crap. Brp / evinrude couldn’t make an outboard that comes close to anything made by Yamaha/Suzuki/Mercury. The etecs were garage and The G2’s were garbage. Sure a few people had good luck but that’s not the norm. Most of them have all sorts of issues.
    Wouldn’t trust anything they make that is supposed to be some sort of outboard. There are going to be so many issues with those and the submerged design. So stupid. It’s not an if but when water gets in there and and it all goes to shit.

      Better watch out , an old Intruder or fastrike will make a liar out of ya.

    An outboard that's half in the water just screams long term issues to me. Maybe I'll be proven wrong.

    Bring back a real out board like Evinrude. Looks like something only a fool would purchase, Its an E-Tec turned on side and will be a piece of trash in 2 years.

    So 5 years and 500 hours.... So I dock my boat and take off for the house for two weeks. Oops I forgot to lift my motor, now what?

      Like my grandpaw said when his backhoe said to grease it every 8 hours... he said it was wearing him out in jest, and the mechanic took him seriously and said THAT'S IF YOU ARE USING IT. That 500 hours is running hours.

    so BRP is in the submersible business........................and stole an idea from 7marine for an engine mounted 90 degrees to the main shaft?

    As soon as the guy said there are no cons, I stopped the video. He's the type of salesman that will try and sell ice to an eskimo.

    It is a super terrible design if they wanted to be in the outboard industry then they should have continued making my favorite outboard the evinrude etec 2 stroke the evinrude was better then a 4 stroke even certified in California we all know how California is Rotax outboard super terrible design

    • @Wingnut353
      @Wingnut353 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree... but frankly it does have advantages. Probably they are trying to cross polinate engineering with the aviation engines... which wouldn't be a bad thing.

    • @HookedOnTuna
      @HookedOnTuna ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The etec and g2 is why they stopped making outboards. All
      Junk and constant warranty issues with the g2. Sure when they are running right they can have some good power but they are crap. Have already had a few peoples seasons ruined by etecs this year. They suck. We service 20year old Yamahas that are far more reliable.
      And yes I know some people have had good luck but that is not the norm.

    cons: maintenance, takes forever to get on plane, looks like a service nightmare, low horsepower, I will stick with a Mercury, honda, yamaha or Suzuki

  • @donbrum2264

    looks like a maintenance nightmare. simply said FUBAR. BRP bring a real evinrude outboard back with the evinrude name!!!
