It is interesting what this does not show. Whole other rings of condos, under constant construction, surround what you see in these images. I cannot imagine how people can afford all of these condos and apartments. One thing is certain, Halifax needs affordable housing in addition to these buildings. Also observable is the opportunity for Truro, Bridgewater, and the Valley towns to be included in the commuter belt. Metro transit may have to eventually reach out to these towns with a commuter rail system. Halifax will reach one million, soon. Then how much more will it grow? Cities rarely stop at one million.
Wow yes I was in Halifax in 2009 I think I filmed a bunch of footage back then, it would be interesting to compare from then to now and see when Google earth updates it's maps with all the developments. We are in the same boat here in Vancouver, Next to no affordable housing, many friends are moving to the valley or Vancouver Island just so they can afford to live and not use most of their working wage just to pay for rent or mortgage... I remember walking around Saskatoon in 2012 and my jaw dropped seeing how low the price was to purchase or rent a house, its probably not like that anymore though The banks have a stranglehold on the citizens and the developers treat housing like a commodity instead of a necessity.......more affordable housing and housing co-ops are needed....

the halifax, even the entire nova scotia, is ruined by way too much influx of people.
