I'll be installing the big 3. Also installing a Brand x 320a alternator. Using Knukonceptz kolossus fleks 1/0. Ill customz recessed battery terminal and 6 spots with gp fuse blocks.
Nice job man, just be careful with the frame and power wire run it can ground out easier than you think, at least put some split loom around it to help it protect the wires. But clean install.
Thank you for this video i been trying to figure out where to start when grounding my alt im doing a big 3 but wanted to ground the alt and im new to this stuff and most people say case of the alt but im scartching my head because they don't show where, this vid was very helpful, nice set up..
Excuse me, the fuse holder that goes from the positive of the battery to the alternator is crazy when you do the big3 or is it only if it has sound in the car?
Looks nice, I would be a little concerned about the hole going into the cab. You never know what kind of vibration that particular spot will have. I would at least put some loom over it or some putty to keep the wire from vibrating against raw metal...especially if you cut a larger hole. Just saying. Remember when I accidentally grounded out my power wire? $1500 oops.
Has this been a good alternator I have been hearing that the quality of brand X has taken a dive im not speaking from personal experience just what I have been told so im asking for your opinion they and auto tech both make alternators for my car but I don't want to go with the cheaper option and be out double the money for having to order the auto tech anyway can you tell me how its been for you and any advice on what not to do and what helps the alternator perform the best
Sorry for the late response. I've had zero issues with the Brand X. I cannot speak for quality today. I think some people just don't like him so they bash the product. When I was looking Brand X was hot. I've also heard auto tech is good but have no experience with them

My 06 Taurus had a fuse between alternator and battery at fuse box. Not sure about Jeep, ill check tomorrow and reply back. If your engine mounts are in good shape and you leave a few inches of slack it should be fine. If your mounts are bad your engine will move more.
Just depends on your electrical demands. I already had to do 2 runs to the back. So I did 2 to the alternator as well. I know they say wire can handle more amperage on a shorter run. I did it to get the most I could and to keep it looking even since I had 2 runs going to back.
Very clean. Use a grommet through the hole. Been looking for one on the 3.7. Like two grounds on the alternator the main engine ground is tough to get to . Did you have to flash your pcm for your alternator?
I have a KJ this is one of the few videos I have seen with the 3.7. Nicely done install and video. Used a couple of your ideas for grounds. Never get down to the factpry spot.
I got three power and three grounds on the alternator. 2 power to the back lithium-ion batterys and one to the front. Then 2 grounds to the back battery and 1 to front battery makes a huge difference my car sits at 14.5 idle and when the bass is slamming never drops lower then 14.2. So yes all this is really good to do and makes a huge difference in my case. :)
nice job. liked the raised battery terminals you used to connect the blocks but couldn't find them on ill Customz. did you order directly from them or a dealer?
Wire can handle more amps on a shorter run. So depending on amp draw possibly not. I added 2 runs from alt to keep it looking even with the 2 going to the back. I also wanted the most flow I could get with the amount of wire I had.
@@clippingcoils8215 Can't agree more. Spending all that coin on hardware and OFC, it's only a few more bucks more to add some fuses and save your car from a fire.
Apologies for the late reply. It all seems redundant at first. Grounds on top of grounds. I don't have any real world testing to back it up. Everyone says to have equal grounds to power wires. 1 power wire 1 ground. 2 power wires should have 2 grounds and so on.
@@clippingcoils8215 that is a principal to follow when grounding. I work on cnc machines and we field ground with a ground rod. hey bud you do not have to take the paint off for your grounds all's you got to do is make sure the threads inside where the bolt goes or not painted and are clean. what you can do by simply inserting the bolt extracting it inserting it extracting it through the hole you're using for the ground a bunch of times and I don't take everything out and clean the hole out. You don't have to mess up the paint ever for a ground just the hole where the bolt goes. Just an FYI... Great job though always love your attention to DETAIL 👍
Most likely yes. Depends on how big your amp and subs you’re pushing. Keep in mind, you can only pump as much power as the salt will provide. So if your alternator is maxed it won’t matter how many wires you have.
For ease of installation. I didn't want to route them across engine as I think this looks cleaner. Fusing is all debatable and generally comes down to preference from one individual to the next, in my opinion. I however prefer the, better safe than sorry approach.
