  • Welcome to the introduction of the new version of Satellite Director : version 2.5.2 .
What has changed with this version ?
Many things have changed but are not visible. Examples are
    - the update to Android 12.0 and Java 11 ,
    - the update to Android ViewPager2 ,
    - and code improvements found using Android Studio Inspections .
The menu is slightly re-arranged. Menu separators are added, but these are not supported by all Android versions, and the "Exit" menu has moved.
A new menu item "Satellite list" is added. It enables you to load, save or delete a satellite list. You are free to create list files with for example only antennas, or just with 4 to 9 preselected satellites, or with only the satellites between 10 and 30 degrees East, or what ever you want .
The last saved or loaded file is remembered and will be loaded at app start-up. At any time you can load the original file list with the, currently, 500 satellites.
See the video • How to create a satell...
The Director screen has a new setting to give the displayed text a solid background color. You can choose any color. In addition the words "North" and "South" are added to the compass needle.
There is a warning for the sky view when you use the compass based on the Android rotationvector. The rotationvector limits the roll and pitch to 90 degrees which is not enough. The compass based on magnetometer + accelerometer allows values up to 180 degrees. So better use that one.
The Director screen has 3 new options:
    - the option to display all pre-selected satellites together,
    - the option to use a background color for the displayed text on that screen, and
    - the option to read signal data from a Enigma Linux receiver with OpenWebIf interface.
For the "Linux receiver" a new screen is added. By default the screen will not be loaded and shown. The OpenWebIf interface allows to connect to the receiver and control it using an internet browser on a phone or computer. Satellite Director uses this to request the signal data (SNR, AGC and BER) and the current channel information from the receiver. If you wish one of the signal values will be pronounced in a language that is available on the phone and that differs per phone !!
The values are refreshed constantly. The values are also displayed on the Director screen . This allows further fine tuning of your dish with lnb.
The receiver and the phone must be in the same network. The receiver may use WiFi or an utp cable to a Wifi router. The phone uses Wifi.
The receiver IP address is displayed on the OpenWebIf page.
In this video the receiver is at 192.168.35.119 and the phone at 192.168.35.68. Both are in the 192.168.35.0 network. In the receiver the following items of the OpenWebIf interface must be checked or enabled :
    - OpenWebIf interface enabled,
    - Ip address of the receiver.
For an unsecure internet connection, the following OpenWebIf items must be set:
    - the HTTP port number. The default value is 80,
    - the HTTP authentication enabled. Authentication is optional but if not enabled anybody has access.
For a secure internet connection, the following OpenWebIf items must be set:
    - HTTPS enabled,
    - the HTTPS port number. The default value is 443,
    - the HTTPS authentication enabled. Authentication is optional but if not enabled anybody has access.
Authentication means that a login name, and password is needed to obtain the data from the receiver. It is advised to use the secure connection with authentication.

Is it possible you can add the Dish Network satellites on the list of satellites 110, 119, and 129? Thank you. I can't find them on the satellite list
