- Find a satellite in 3 screens:
1- Location,
2- Satellite,
3- Director.
Warning: The compass of your phone can get inaccurate because it is
affected by magnetic fields or because it is weakened by age.
Calibrating the compass may not help or it may only work correctly for a few moments.
The app is add free.
Screen 1: Location. There are 2 methods to do this.
Method 1: Enable the GPS in your phone and wait until the GPS fix is ready.
It can take several minuts before your phone has a GPS fix.
Method 2: Alternative, disable the GPS in your phone and manually enter the GPS coordinates. The GPS coordinates are in the format degrees dot decimals.
You could use Google Earth to find the your GPS location, or, use a real GPS receiver.
Screen 2: Satellite.
Select the satellite tab.
There are over 270 Satellites in the list.
When no satellite is selected Satellite Director automatically scrolls to the satellite closest to your GPS location, or, when you have already selected a satellite to the selected satellite. In this case I select "Astra 2F | 2A | 1N | 2D" at 28.1 degrees but then Iuse a Satellite position of 28.2 of "Astra 1N | 2F".
Screen 3: Director.
Select the director tab.
I assume that the pole on which the satellite dish is mounted is aligned perpendicular to the earth with a plummet or plumb line.
Satellite Director has calculated the azimuth, elevation and skew for Astra 2 for my location. I use these calculated values to set the dish elevation at 26.8 degrees, and for the dish skew or LNB skew at -15.7 degrees. When this is ready I continue with the azimuth.
Hold the phone 30-50 centimeters above the satellite dish. This distance is required to avoid disturbing the compass. I align the top of my phone to the satellite's azimuth by turning clockwise or counter clockwise until the cyan ball is in the cyan circle.
Align the offset arm of the satellite dish in azimuth with the cyan arrow while the cyan ball remains in the cyan circle. You can do both simultaniously.
The satellite dish points now, in azimuth, to the satellite.
To further improve the received signal I use the signal strength page of my satellite receiver, and fine tune manually the dish elevation, skew and azimuth.
This is a tricky job, because the alignment can easy become faulty.
The only solution is repeat the same alignment sequence "elevation, skew, azimuth" for 1 or 2 times.
That is all.

I used this app for tuning my TATA sky, Indian satellite TV provider.Typically I would have been charged INR 500 but I saved that all doing the positioning of the dish antenna to G-Sat-10.
I never thought it was possible to do it at home .Many thanks to the developer :)
For the past two years I have been trying to find the Astra 2 satellite from the south of France. I thought I had tried everything. I down loaded this app onto a tablet. The accurate compass and the correct line to the satellite showed that a tree was blocking the signal. Tree removed and job done. Thank you

btw. my choice was to get some infos online ...
using the mobile as tv screen (wifi) to control the spectral signal meter (dr.hd f16)
In Your Video,
- GPS was disabled for no good reason ... or because the s/w-interface isn't working
- the location and most other datas had to be typed in manually, deleting the leading 0.00
- the database seam to be buggy ... Astra2 was at 28.1°E. You knew it better and typed in 28.2°E.
- aligning circle and ball seam to be less accurate to find the best signal than listening to the stb beep

Did you make a list of features and then compare each feature per app ?
Without naming any app: one did not work without internet connection, one rejected any other selected satellite, many have add's, one needs my phone number (?), some augemented reality was not very steady, some satellite pointing was just left/right, and there is probably more to say. I must admit I liked some GUI's (very easy) and in the future you may see some of it in my app.
In the pay version you will find: SNR, AGC and BER for receivers with enigma-s/w.
Why not share your choise of the best sophisticated program (maybe 2 names) ?
- GPS location was typed just to show you can do so and because I did not want home visitors. In my latest video I solved that and used a false location.
- deleting the leading 0.00: I will see what I can do about that but I am affraid somebody will complain about that too.
- the database seams to be buggy: everybody believes the ASTRA2 satellites are at 28.2 but they are not. Check www.kingofsat.net (average currently at 28.5) or even USSTRATCOM (average currently at 30.7 but I do not believe that). Satbeams and Lyngsat show your 28.2 . The reasons why it is not 28.2: the earth wobbles, satellites drift, geostationary orbits are not arithmetically perfect, all 4 sats can not be at exactly 28.2, etc. Currently I am already adding a 2nd satellite list with those nice numbers you take for the 'truth' because one just can not explain it to a lot of people that 28.1 could be correct.
