    Yall should do Heims for your outer tie rods so you can adjust for bump.

      I heard it quite a bit working in the oilfield, not so much working for Cadillac, which is the way you’d want it, I suppose.

    That's what's up Josh... My mechanic's name here in North Fl is also named Josh and he's working on my 86 G-body Regal, and I just ordered an Sweet Mfg 10:1 steering box.... Thats weird as hell.... Say you wouldn't happen to be in Atlantic Beach FL would ya🤣🤣🤣.... Haven't met my mechanic in person yet... Just sortta shipped my car in

      Sounds like a fun build. Different Josh though, lol. I’m in the Dallas TX area, but fun fact, I use to live in north FL, Panama City Beach.

    Joshee, easier and faster to remove the outer tie rods then steering pitman arm from drag link, then two bolts from Adler arm leaving the other joints in tact. This way you are able to set up your replacement parts like the way you removed the old ones. This will make it easier to set up your steering alignment before you take it in for final alignment.

      I just left the tie rods in the sleeves and matched the length of the originals.

    I'll tell you what, having a garage definitely makes it easy. I have my own channel that I'm working on a 1986 Grand Prix and I did my steering linkage this past weekend, all new. But of course I did it all on the ground. Man I need a garage. Anyways, look forward to checking out your vids and if you could give me a sub and leave me some comments. Keep it up, looking good.

    Thanks for the video, whats the thread size of the fittings that you used in the steering box to go to AN ?

    • @CarsandJoshee
      @CarsandJoshee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe they’re m16x1.5 to -6 and m18x1.5 to -6. You can get them in a set from either eBay or Amazon.

      I don’t remember. I took one of the original bolts to a hardware store.

    Would you happen to know the bolt sizes for the steering box and Pittman arm on the other side of the frame?

    • @Rarebreed1114
      @Rarebreed1114 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Idler arm I meant

    • @CarsandJoshee
      @CarsandJoshee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure. Maybe M12x1.75x35mm for idler arm, and I think these are the steering box bolts: www.ebay.com/itm/302896446882
      I just used factory bolts for the gear box, and the new suspension parts came with the hardware.

    What was wrong with the idler arm

    • @CarsandJoshee
      @CarsandJoshee  ปีที่แล้ว

      The new one? Nothing, it just needed to be rotated 180*
