The funny thing is because the extra damage doesn't matter in a no-hit, this isn't any more difficult. In fact, it's easier since you can abuse the glitch as much as you want.
Yep LOL. There actually are 2 harder attacks that I saw though in the enraged version: a way faster version of the one where the head and arms close in one you, and a much faster version of the second attack in the fight where you have to shoot the spamton heads to get through. Neither of them are in this video however because I end the fight too quickly.
The faces attacks should have more bullets and hp, the window attack extremely fast, telephone arm attack is just spam, and just allot of spam and speed and hp
@@MysticSlime I think I saw the harder version of the shooting the heads to get through attack. He does it after his special attack, so I dont think thats new
I know Spamton's "It's for me?" attack is meant to be funny, but I can't help but remember Reaper Bird's "attack" where a lot of butterflies devoured the everyman's face.
I was never able to tell if his attack was backfiring, or just doing it to fuck with you since it doesn’t actually damage him or anything. It’s a little creepy in a way.
Also wanted to make a quick comment on what "enraged" is: Basically by abusing the big shot glitch, Spamton will get angry and deal increased damage ranging from 54 to around 100, at least that I noticed in my playthroughs. He also seems to have at least two faster attack patterns that weren't there before that I missed in this video because I killed him too quick. These attacks also could be part of the patch in general but I'm leaning more towards the side of them being enraged exclusives.
The question here is whether or not it can be classed as glitch now. If the patch added a variable to track it rather than trying to remove it, that means it's considered intentional regardless of whether or not it originally was supposed to be.
I don't know if this is due to it being Snowgrave or not but Spamton also starts with his lvl 3 Heart Attack (fires three rounds of projectiles per extention) and he gets a lvl 4 that makes the projectiles fire in different direction.
Yeah, I remember someone commented in one of the prior videos that the numbers might've been blue because we were using Noelle as a weapon just like we were Kris, but turns out nope. I noticed that right away too LOL
just imagine it hasn't been a week since you added a new part to your game and people are already abusing bugs, toby might be too tired to fix it but still found a way to adress it. What a clever bastard
Fixing would probably be easier. This feels like the "Skyrim" principle in action. "If it doesn't ruin people's enjoyment, don't fix it", so instead he put a small nod in saying "Yes, I know"
*Fun fact:* In the final hits (4:42), Pre-patch was originally Kris' blue color on the damage text. Now in this patch, Toby have fixed it to Noelle's color.
I have no idea if this is true or not, but if you remember when kris asked sans for his brother and he responded it might take somewhere between 2 years and one day.... it might actually be a hint that it will be "a day" in-game, and 2 years IRL till next chapter gets released.
Yep. Clearly, everyone can hear our "voice". My theory is we're able to control everyone, not just Kris. That explains why battles happen in _party_ (we "control" these other characters during battle). There's also numerous times when other characters hear us thinking we're Kris: - In Chapter 1, when we follow Susie, she thinks she hears Kris say something when _we_ give her an order. She even calls them out: "Kris? Did ya say something?". - There's this battle, where Spamton hears us. - And of course, in Snowgrave, Noelle clearly hints that Kris' voice isn't their _usual_ voice. I also think we're not the only one with this power. Spamton and Jevil were both contacted by someone else's "voice". See how Flowey has the same power as us in Undertale ? I think Toby Fox did the same thing in Deltarune, except it's not about saving/loading, but about controlling characters. If I'm right, then I _love_ the direction Deltarune takes!

Y'know know, I just realized. Kris before Spamtom's does the "blue Light special" deals 261 damage to Spamton, but afterwards he only does about 10, meaning his damage was divided by approximately 26.1 . With this, we can see how Noelle even with the defense increase does about 695 damage per hit, which when multiplied by 26.1 means that in a normal Spamton Neo fight she would deal ~18k damage per hit, with her doing 3 attacks at once that's 54k damage at once, which really *really* puts into perspective the Sheer gap that can appear between someone with LV and someone without when before Kris normal attack dealt about like 50-100 more damage (can't remember) compared to Noelle's iceshock, and now she deals about 54k more damage than you per hit
yeah, noelle’s iceshock and snowgrave both completely ignore opponent defenses, so she doesn’t have ridiculous magic stat here. the iceshock formula is 30(magic-10)+90+randnum(0,10) so her magic stat when she defeats spamton neo is around 30.

there's almost no changes so this is relatively just the same fight but easier since you can abuse a bug. Still, nice no-hit. I've done a no-hit of the this fight as well and yes you can skip half of his attacks simply by doing major damage often. Including his ultimate if done fast enough. The phone hands are fast normally anyway. When I did my no-hit it was before this patch but I never abused the exploit as it is rather cheesy.
Haha thanks, this was actually the strategy I used to try and no-hit him originally but there were a ton of videos already out by the time I was on my 50th attempt or so and just gave up.
Have you seen what happens in this chapter when you inspect the ShadowCrystal? I saw it on Merg's video, but it basically says "for a brief moment you saw the computer lab(I think looking through the crystal), but it must have been your imagination." I'm wondering if it is related to Kris's red eye
Or the shadow crystals just reflect the truth of the dark world and shows that its just based on the computer lab or the closet. Maybe thats why spamton and jevil went crazy, cuz it reflects the truth.
Sounds like he's talking about himself when he mentions how pathetic it is for you to call out your friends names at the bottom of a dumpster. Kind of sad

I realized that calling for Noelle is the only time Kris whispered a name. It seems Kris actually hesitated to use the product of "the player's" doing and put her to last for Noelle's sake, because you know, they're childhood friends.

Seeing as the next dark world will most likely be at Kris's house I really hope toriel gets in and teaches him some dreemur fire magic. I mean he's technically a dreemur too.
She's gonna be a party member that specializes in fire, Susie and her will bond, with Toriel mentioning that Ralsei looks familiar, and Undyne will be an antagonist or anti-hero for a good portion of the chapter. Kris will either be a player character, or an Antagonist as well. That or both at the same time. Noelle may sneak out to the Dreemur household to investigate why the two aren't at school (assuming a school day) or instead go to Kris's house to get help from him with Susie. If not, then she won't be seen until the end of the chapter, either working on her project with Berdly, at church with her dad, or only her dad will be at church (assuming Snowgrave). Berdly will likely be working at the library after the chapter, with Noelle, or you will find his comatose form in the hospital room adjacent to Rudolph's room. In any case, it's gonna be an amazing show with Drama, Romance, and Bloodshed!
Basically, there was an unintentional glitch that allowed you to spam [BIG SHOT], so Toby Fox patched in "enraged" mode which activates when using this glitch. Enraged mode makes Spamton NEO deal more damage, though we don't see this here since this is a no-hit run.
@@EP1CxEMAN08 i think adding the animation and the increasing damage is whay faster than fixing the whole shooting system so thats why he decide to do this raged mode instead which i actually find more enterteaning than just patch the glitch.
It wasn't on purpose. But Toby Fox discovered this glitch and instead of removing it. He made Spamton go angry if you use it and Spamton does almost double the damage. Thats why Toby Fox is such a good dev, unlike most others who would just fix the glitch
Believe it or not, around 4 months back I did this myself except I DIDNT do the glitch. Even if it was my worst preforming video of the month, it’s one of my favorites because I’m just so proud of myself for pulling it off. I did, however, do something different where I grazed the heart attack bullets rather than shooting the heart. Apparently after watching this video that was a lesser thing to do since I still had to do the wreck-spew final attack if I recall correctly.
Is difficulty everything in a game? I like Spamton much more than Jevil as a character, the fight is amazing in terms of visual design too, and so I'd say it's Jevil who doesn't hold a candle to Spamton. Just my opinion though, feel free to have your own.
Your opinion is valid, but my statement had nothing to do with the difficulty. Jevil looks harder to me, yes and i've not played chapter 2 personally. But really this does just seem like a Jevil Ripoff character in a way. His backstory is different, but the catalyst to his insanity is the same. Overall to me, Jevil just seems more...fun. Even if getting to him was a pain in the ass. Starting to think the remaining 3 chapters may potentially have similar bosses who went insane because of the "mysterious person"
He does way more damage (it varies but can go from double or higher I think) and I think he may have new attacks which are faster, although that could've been just a general update to him in this patch.
When the phrase "It's not a bug, it's a feature" is taken seriously

I still love how instead of patching the bug, Toby just made the boss harder if you use it.
Can you beat spamton without calling for your friends by whittling down his hp by 10 at a time?
he eats pipis so, no
Yeah it will always remain at least at 6%. Also don’t bother hacking Kris’ attack star as you will already deal 10 damage at that point.
I tried doing that, but no, his hp is capped at 6% and you can't drop it below.
Sad, would be nice to be another ending than "noelle pls help spambot is being rude
@@culfre
can we hack it so see what happens if it drops below 6% ?
@@cezarcatalin1406 Spamton would just heal using pipis so no point doing that
I love how he honks when he gets mad.
Spamton’s self-projecting lines in this route are just heartbreaking. He’s literally saying his story, he lost all hopes and he’s telling Kris (or us) to do so as well. :(
there's almost no changes so this is relatively just the same fight but easier since you can abuse a bug.
I think the only difference is that he does more damage when he hits you, which obviously doesn't make a difference when you're trying to do a no-hit.
¿De qué trata el "exploit"?
@@spamtong.spamton7601 if you hold down the enter key, and then tap the Z key, you can fire the powerful shots rapidly
1:11 huh, abusing the heart attack to gain TP, clever.
Haha thanks, this was actually the strategy I used to try and no-hit him originally but there were a ton of videos already out by the time I was on my 50th attempt or so and just gave up.
@@MysticSlime wait, 50th attempt? That's rough. I assumed you all were just real good at the game.
Have you seen what happens in this chapter when you inspect the ShadowCrystal? I saw it on Merg's video, but it basically says "for a brief moment you saw the computer lab(I think looking through the crystal), but it must have been your imagination."
I'm wondering if it is related to Kris's red eye
Or the shadow crystals just reflect the truth of the dark world and shows that its just based on the computer lab or the closet. Maybe thats why spamton and jevil went crazy, cuz it reflects the truth.
@@shoopersaiyan Then I wonder why the Sean is collecting them?
@@slowpokeofdoom I mean isn't he technically blind so maybe he just wants others not to become what his friend became insane from knowing the truth
I mean wasn't charas eyes naturally red so why couldn't Kris have it too (btw idk if this is true or everyone just made it a headcanon)
@@slowpokeofdoom i think he said he was gonna make something for the player if im not mistaken
This is a certified [Big Shot] classic.
I love that instead of fixing the glitch, Mr. Fox and his team just acknowledged it by making Spamton react to it
Sounds like he's talking about himself when he mentions how pathetic it is for you to call out your friends names at the bottom of a dumpster. Kind of sad
Making the boss angry and harder when you do an exploit is one of the most clever things I seen in a boss fight.
did the enraged fight my first time on snowgrave, didnt find it too difficult cus I already beat him on normal (this was about 9 hours ago)
No, it’s probably just because spamton neo isn’t hard on snowgrave, or normal.
He just isn’t hard.
@@honey-hunterslimefanno.3257 hes more difficult than the rest of the game (outside of jevil) but yeah he only took me 3 atts on normal and 4 with enraged snowgrave

Istg Noelle's iceshock soundeffect freaks me out ever since i completed the Weird route.
Hey, at least, his joke is quite good though.
"What's she gonna do, make me an [Ice Cream]!?"

Are we not going to talk about how that hit was perfectly in sync with the music
No.
I imagine your heart sunk every time your heard the near miss sound effect
4:25 fun little fact: it says "YOU whispered Noelle's name", implying that Kris didn't (the game does not refer to Kris as you when you call out others) actually whisper Noelle's name, but it was the one controlling him (im 80% sure its not Gaster.)
Holy shit you're right, it's confirmed then. We are making Kris do things.
Why do people keep bringing up gaster tho
@@BoltBarkingatthemoon cuz phone call in dark world and why jevil got Locked he fit
@@BoltBarkingatthemoon I've got the same question. Its like, Gaster is a part of the story (presumably) but holy shit he's not the whole fucking plot.

One thing I wish Toby did was make enraged spamton DISABLE big shots
Toby after finding out the glitch through the community:

I realized that calling for Noelle is the only time Kris whispered a name. It seems Kris actually hesitated to use the product of "the player's" doing and put her to last for Noelle's sake, because you know, they're childhood friends.
Kris actually didn't do it. It says Kris called for help the other times but it says "You" whispered for Noelle.
Kris didn’t whispered Noelle’s name but it’s us, the players who did it as it says “You whispered Noelle’s name” instead of “Kris calls for help”.
Well played Toby... Well played...
I still wonder if you can potentially still kill him with normal attacks after his DEf rose by just being patient enough.
Nope, he eats Pipis
Exploiters: *finds an infinite big shot glitch*
Toby: here's a gamer move *adds a funny easter egg that makes Spamton NEO harder*
Exploiters: no hit lol
Toby Fox: 0:24
i like how instead of. you know. patching the glitch. he just made him able to kill you in 3-2 hits.
With how obsessed this guy is with Spamton I’m almost 100% certain at this point that he IS Spamton.
Dunno if there's anything more haunting than closing the fountain without the overdriven guitar...

4:42 Welp, she cooled him off after being triggered 😂
is not a bug, is an [unespected feature]
car horns are the new funniest way to depict someone getting mad
:o so this glitched was made in purpose? or not removed and he do this? or is a "patch"?
Funny, Spamton doesnt seem amused with spam
Does this happen in the pacifist NEO fight or only snowgrave route?
both
@@Awoken_YKW_Fan9001 haha nice. I used the exploit just before it upped his damage.
Most game developers reacting to a bug: Let's remove it.
Toby: Two can play at that game.
This is just bullying at this point.
Apparently after watching this video that was a lesser thing to do since I still had to do the wreck-spew final attack if I recall correctly.
technically it doesnt make a difference, since its a no hit anyways
I like how some games have good anticheats. example: Doors (ambush kills when u start round)
Oh god, I can hear the world revolving in the background. Like this even remotely holds a candle to Jevil.
@@SephirothXValentine Wait until you play chapter 2, this guy's out of battle stuff (and normal battle stuff) are super funny
@@SephirothXValentine Thing is, Spamton has a lot of content outside of the battle. He's much more of a character than Jevil.
2:22 in my opinion this attack right here is the hardest to no-hit
Lol what change when he is enraged?
He does way more damage (it varies but can go from double or higher I think) and I think he may have new attacks which are faster, although that could've been just a general update to him in this patch.
@@MysticSlime Spamton also seems to add MORE particles...
