Only 15 mins in and you guys did such an amazing job at honestly reviewing this ship, I’ve seen a few other creators reviews and they failed to mention all of the ridiculous up charges. Thank you guys for always being honest and hilarious 💜
Great observation Katie. Ben and David are one of the few that are honest about their opinions and don't sugar coat it. You have to keep in mind if the others are always saying everything is so great then they may be operating under a non compete agreement which prohibits them from being honest about their experience. I would rather pay for my cruise than not be honest! Thank you Ben and David.
This is way beyond "nickel Abba diming" were at $50's and $100's for every extra thing! Holy cow Europe is much cheaper. Really nice, but not practical for most families!
I usually wait for my wife to watch your videos, but I just had to sneak a peak. I only watched the first seven minutes for now, and as always, I just love what you guys do and how you do it. Can’t wait for the rest and your honesty is much appreciated!
Hearing "we weren't invited and we're not sponsored" is refreshing so nothing is expected to be perfect all the time so it's closer to what we'll see, incognito if you will. Commendable. :)
This might be the best walkthrough so far. Not rushed, not too fast - no screaming & raving over everything, and just plain honesty. A big thumbs up from me! Not sure I'm in love with the ship though. My kids will surely love it, but my wife and I? Eh...
You know, when I was 25 cruising was a blast. Now it sounds like hell. Pay 3x up charge, no peace, and constantly around thousands of people ugh. Plus waiting for almost an hour for something I paid ahead for, or being charged for a chair? No thanks. I’m such a homebody haha.
As a former Royal employee I believe this is the Best TH-cam review of this massive undertaking for the company. I hope all three of you enjoy the rest of your voyage. Hugs to Steff as well. Looking forward to stateroom reviews soon!!
I am not a megaship girlie, whatsoever. But, I deeply appreciate the work that clearly went into this video. The detail, the analysis, the footage quality, all incredibly commendable. I hope you enjoyed your voyage!
This ship is a strange mix of my version of hell on earth and some of the most beautiful/relaxing spaces I've ever seen on a ship. Looking forward to the next videos on this excursion. Thanks for bringing us along!
Seriously proper review. Kept me gripped for 1.5 hours, despite already watching other vlogs and thinking I already knew the ship but realised I didn’t when saw yours. It looks incredible
Go vacation with Carnival cruise, new ship The Celebrations, you will love it, it is not expensive either, really. Go cruise ship between December & April even in March the islands are so hot. They have shows were so beautiful to watch, pools to enjoy, rooms & closets were great, get balcony room. You will not regret going on vacation with carnival Cruise everyone loves their cruise ship vacations very affordable too. Have you tried carnival Cruise ships???
I am not even interested on going on a cruise ever (too many people) but I love your videos and have been watching for years! What I like most about your reviews is that you always assume positive intent and your criticism is always fair and balanced without being mean, clickbaity or outraged/ sensationalist. You both are the real deal!
Juuleeah; I love this channel too. And I love to see positive comments like this. It's a shame some people judge others for no reason, but people like them obviously never learned that everyone is unique & different - and that means tastes/preferences, too. I'm sure, Juuleeah, that like me & everyone else here, you have lived many years and tried many new experiences which have shaped the way you feel about life! That's how I discovered I like going to concerts but hate being in the area without seats. You would have never formed your preferences without having experienced things in the past. Trying new things is part of the human condition after all. But after a while you start to realize what you like and don't like. Only you know what's best for you. You're the only one who has lived your life for all these years! 💙🥳 cheers to that! xo
I have watched so many of your reviews. This by far is my favorite. It is so informative, and non biased. You both always look out for the "little guy" that can't throw out the crazy suite money, but yet you still deliver a quick view for the dreamer. Keep it going, guys. I can't wait to bring my wife and kids on this amazing ship!
I’m glad to hear you mention how much time it took you to shoot this footage. I noticed how fantastic the footage is and actually wondered how you were able to film all this - so well - and get this video narrated and posted so quickly!! It is so perfectly paced and thorough! I also love the way you did the voiceover as narration.❤❤❤❤
We were on this sailing of the Icon with Ben and David. …Wonderful, genuine people…. Ben and David are just as nice, open and friendly as you see in the videos. WE LOVED THIS CRUISE. This was the first cruise my wife did NOT want to leave. FANTASTIC. To the negative comments, there is plenty, TONS of things to do, that are included. We spent NO MONEY on up-charges and had a wonderful time. The Icon is jaw dropping. It did NOT feel crowded, we always found places to sit and enjoy peace and quiet in beautiful public areas. The included food was great, well done, well presented. My family and I will have to go on a month diet to get back to pre cruise weight. I can’t say enough good about this ship and cruise. I just wanted to counter the negative reviews from people who were not on board.
This is one of the best designs for a megaship I've seen. No bland decor. Lots of color and fun design. I might almost consider this one even though I hate huge crowds.
I didn't think I'd ever say this, but this ship is way too colorful. It's sort of hurting my eyes. And it all feels so overwhelming. That being said, this video is INCREDIBLE. Amazing job, guys.
I worked onboard of Royal Caribbean Ships for 8 years and you guys have by far the best Cruising Channel in TH-cam. I feel I already went to Icon of the Seas and If I actually go. I know what to miss and what not to miss thanks to you guys.
I just got diagnosed with covid infection & just wanted comfortable voices in background as I drifted in/our of sleep. I immediately thought of you guys & looked for your longest video.... this one is perfect! Have "listened" twice so far... promise to actually watch & listen when my brain fog has lifted. Thank you soooooo much for your calming voices! ❤
I appreciate the tour you have given with the highs and lows. The low point for me would be all the extra charge casual dining areas out on deck and in the kids area; and the overlapping of music and small venues in the bars and nightclubs. It seems like a giant "amusement park" at sea, which I assume is the whole point. The only way it would work with me is if I was taking grandkids along. Not my "jam" in particular. LOVED that hidden space in front of the aqua theater. Thanks for the thumbs up to those who made it to the end. ;) Hello from the USA. I hope you had a brilliant time with Stef while you were on board.
Thank you two for doing this ship tour of the Icon. My wife and I are long time subscribers and we enjoy your vlogs. You guys have all of the fun!!! Keep up the GREAT work you both do. Donna & David Sheets from Florida
What I love about this video is that you took your time with the ship tour and explained each area with a soothing, calm tone.. which made the entire video not overwhelming.. and very relaxing to watch..
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR REVIEW!!! Your content always makes my day, especially when my anxiety acts up. Also, as a lesbian finding her way in the world, it means so much to see you two living openly, honestly, and beautifully. 💜🏳️🌈
Full disclosure: I will never be on a cruise, but I could listen to you both all day. You're both honest and fun and upbeat, but low key when needed… thanks for being awesome!
This tour is Superior. The relaxed walking pace that you allow all of us to join you around the ship and actually see all of the fantastic areas is exceptional- and your voice narration, both of you, so calming and enjoyable. This is my 6th video tour and yours is superior by a landslide. Thank you for all you do for us 🫶
Thank goodness Royal Caribbean finally listened to customers and made it easy to see the ocean all over the ship! When I first saw the brighter colors, I thought it might be too much (like every Carnival ship), but I actually thought it was very fun and beautiful.
The upcharges are definitely making me steer away from Royal in the future and stick with all inclusive options on Celebrity and Virgin. Appreciate the honestly as always fellas!
This is a thank you. I enjoyed the content of your video. But, it made me realize that cruising on these large ships is not for me. So you have saved me $$$. I will continue watching your videos and enjoy them. I just will avoid being overwhelmed. 😉
Absolutely stunning, love all the little nooks and corners! But... As a wheelchair user, I noticed a lot of barriers. A ramp to a small pool/hot tub where you'd expect accessible access, but there seemed to be none. Stairs all over to the different levels, stairs to sit on, tiered access to the Aqua Show (I forget the name) with apparently only accessible seaing at the top and perhaps bottom,. I assume there are elevators, but if I consistently have to double back to an elevator to get to another level? That's where the value starts eroding. By half an hour into the video, I was amazed at the design and beauty, sure, but also incredibly annoyed that with a $2B cost, they didn't do better to be inclusive for accessibility. Of course, having not actually been on the ship, I could be wrong, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled for these features and yes, there's quite a bit, but enough.
Your Windjammer on Icon was nothing like the one we experienced last month. At 100 percent capacity… it was not good. Ben when you get a chance check that chapter on our Embarkation video. There were no plates… the displays were gone. I had a hard time finding the lobster and even a salad. It was so crowded.. there were no seats open. It looked like Freedom of the Seas…😮
Eeeeeeekkkkk!!!! You made it!!! I've missed you two!!! Ben, your jokes & foodie reviews & David, your gentleness & poshness!!!! Now, I'm going to "Treat Myself" and pick up what you lay down 😂😂😂!!!
The least expensive I could find for a 7 day was $4600. That is more than double the price i have ever paid for a cruise before. Now I will say after seeing your vlog that the ship is beautiful and amazing. And I would love to cruise on it. But, One one of the reasons I cruise is the value and for me, $4600 Is over my budget. I'm looking forward to future vlogs Related to activities and parties and fun on board because that's what's most important to me. Thanks guys as always you have done an excellent job
Only halfway through the video but your review and tour is hands-down the best I’ve seen and I’ve been watching ICON vlogs and tours nightly for a few days. You did really good job of showcasing the spaces and providing information that I had not heard before, (which is difficult with how much research I’ve done). Looking forward to being aboard this April!
This video is better than ones produced by Royal Caribbean. I am not a fan of mega ships but after seeing this video along with so much helpful information I might consider it.
You guys are so thorough. Thank you. We are small ship cruisers and usually Seabourn so it would not occur to me to look at this. You were correct - to us it’s a MONSTROSITY. Your title is spot on. Be well guys and keep going! You both are hilarious at times. 😊
What a wonderful tour! Honestly, it's too much ship for us however, in a few years we want to take our grandkids and adult kids on a cruise. Disney is cute but I know it is NOT for my hubby and I. This ship is gorgeous and has something for everyone! Ryan is 2, we want to go after he turns 5 or 6. I think we found our ship!!! She (the ship) will be 4 yrs new when we take them. Perfect! Thank you again. I just wanted a peek at it. I had no intention of sailing on her however, now I am determined to book this ship for our family cruise. 3 adult children and their life partners, and my 2 grand kids!!! You have sold me on this ship. Lol. Thank you again!! ❤❤❤ This content was great! The other Icon tours, I forwarded through most of it. I watched this all the way through, no skipping!
Thanks for your update! We are on the March 29 sailing, and your initial comment almost made my head explode! Of course, I found it hard to believe, since there is no way a cruise line would accept a ship from the shipyard, and then cancel the next six months of sailing!! Sorry you still ended up in limbo for the 28th. Unforgivable! I too had responsibility for very large projects in my career. I can only put this issue down to an insane level of corporate pressure to make the deadline date. No doubt they knew of the problems well in advance, but management just kept pushing in the face of failure. I suspect heads will roll…..
Such video quality guys! This is why you set yourselves apart from others. Thank you for taking the time to film this for all of us! I haven't even finished it but im so blown away by your video quality. I hipe you enjoy thebrest of your time on the ship! Always love your vids! ❤
I wonder of the capping of numbers early on helps with early promotional material. Lots of cruise influencers posting videos that will help give the impression of a quieter ship. Thanks for pointing this. Good honest review
You guys were really right about the dark no window venues on the earlier ship and the new setup with views everywhere looks so much better. That market had some great options. I like that the majority of the activities are free
I really enjoy this new video format, a travelogue with your narration on top. I guess for such a big ship that it the best way to cover so, so much. I can't wait to see your cabin tour. That ship goes on and on and on.
The reason for the traditional dining room is simple. It's all about having something old, something new, something borrowed (Dueling Pianos), and something blue.😊🎉❤
Thanks for the honest review. Sad to see more upcharges but I’m pleased to see a return of all the windows! One of my favourite ships is Radiance because I could sit in the promenade and look out to the sea while enjoying a coffee in the morning or a drink later in the day. Hopefully more Royal ships will come with these windows!
Great job guys! When I saw the total time of your video I was skeptical but you're rolling right through it beautifully Feels like you guys are doing as good a job narrating the tour as the design team did on the ship with the flow Job well done for both you and RC
Really enjoyed this tour - well done in getting it out so quickly! While Icon is an absolutely incredible ship, I'm really not sold on the cost of cruising on here - it really is surprising that they're charging such high fees for things once onboard, considering the base fare is already SO high! It looks like they've REALLY fixed the Oasis class issue of feeling like you're in a huge shopping centre on land - hello ocean! :)
I really appreciate how you both do your reviews. I sometimes attempt to watch other channels and within a few mins I'm like "you're not Ben and David" and then i switch to you. Watching your reviews is like coming home. Thank you 🥰
A first class review of the Icon. Initially we thought 90mins!! we'll get bored, but we ended up watching it all the way through in one go as you made the video and commentary so interesting. 10/10. Certainly a beautifully designed ship, as you said (several times) light, bright, and airy. It is definitely a family/younger generation orientated ship. As we belong to the older generation it would not be a ship for us, as a large amount of the complimentary activities we would not/could not partake in, so would not get full value of our ticket cost. You also mentioned "the app'" used to book and organise things, great if 1/ you have an all singing, all dancing phone, with enough memory; 2/ understand how to use the app'; and 3/ the app's works correctly (technology has a nasty habit of dropping out at the most inconvenient time!). With a full passenger compliment of some 7000+, all trying to use the app', bottle necking could be a real issue (a serious problem my wife had to contend with on another cruise line on a Mediterranean cruise she went on recently). We look forward to the cabin review video when you post it. We enjoyed your river cruise video, and hope to find/see others as they (the river cruise) look to be very interesting. We enjoy your videos, keep 'em coming😃
I thought I would hate this ship for being too gaudy but there are a lot of areas that are light and breezy with lots of options AND the food looks terrific. You did a great job with this presentation and I look forward to videos showing your room and what you ate and did while onboard. Big thumbs up to you both!
Thank you for this review! Honestly, I am a small ship RC cruiser. However, that being said, I would consider going on this ship or the Monarch that you mentioned. I like all the nooks and crannies and the variety of places to sit and enjoy the views. I cruise in order to not cook or clean for # amount of days. I like excursions sometimes, but I honestly enjoy being by the ocean, watching people, catching up on my reading, and just eating/drinking whatever I want, whenever I please, and not having to clear up afterward! LOL! This may be on my bucket list to take my grown sons in the future. They have not discovered cruising yet, but this might be a way to get their feet wet. :-) Thank you for all of the hard work you put into giving us honest reviews! Keep up the fantastic work!
Bravo, gentlemen!! I love how you provide a balance between your compliments and your critiques in this video. I'm glad you both enjoyed your time aboard this beautiful new ship!
Hey guys …..thank you so much for a great tour. I felt like I was on board with you walking around. Personally these monster ships with 6000 passengers is not for me. They keep building these huge ships and I don’t think it’s feasible to fill them on every cruise. Once the newness wears off we shall see. Thanks again for an incredible video.
Those upcharges are mental. If I were spending 10k for a holiday, I'd not be expecting all those extras. Better to just go Regent and have a proper relaxing cruise.
Yes. Nearly 10,000 people including crew at maximum capacity, most likely why it's so open for health and safety regulations for that many people. Looks awful, but ridiculously expensive for effectively Butlins on the sea. 80k a week for the top room and so many extra charges on top. Far better ships out there that are more personal.
You've quite literally produced a feature length film! So detailed. This ship is beautiful, if overwhelming. Looking forward to seeing the stateroom reviews!
Good afternoon Ben and David. I've been waiting for your video with the ship tour and you did not disappoint. It was amazing. So many upcharges for thing's, especially by the pools. That's just crazy. Can't wait to see all the other videos when they are available. Your honesty and humor makes for great videos. Thank you as always for all the hard work that goes into putting out one of these. ❤❤
Omg yasss out of all of the vloggers reviewing this ship, I am most excited to see y'alls review ❤ I'm so happy right now 😂 .......the dinner dishes can wait a little bit lol.
They can have big windows on this ship as it won't go anwhere apart from the Caribbean all the time and not any oceans. It is basically and backwards and forwards cruise ship. Great video and thanks for the epic length of it and all the effort you put in!
I’m also only 15 min in and just have to say how awesome you guys are at pointing out details other creators are not mentioning. I also love the background sound of the ocean waves. 🌊 Makes your video so relaxing. 🥰 The ship looks amazing!
Thanks guys, you make the best content of anyone on TH-cam, 1.5 hours flew by! I love your jokes and honesty. Great job! I can't wait until we cruise the Icon in April.
First time viewer here - this was a fantastic video and your commentary was perfect. I truly appreciate the flow of the tour and your critiques/praises. Well done!
The best ship review I have ever seen on TH-cam! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your footages and your voice narration is captivating. Love it!❤❤❤
Thank you for an honest review!! I’ve deliberately not watched any of the other press trips as what is the point of watching a gifted cruise. The majority (if not all) will be super positive to keep getting more freebies - it’s pointless if you’re looking for the truth!
I'm enjoying your review, and I've already seen a few. I love how all you amazing vloggers highlight different aspects of each area that I learn something new despite having already seen the neighborhoods and sections of ships on other reviews. One thing that I find curious is how everyone says the included food is complimentary. Back when I started cruising in the 1990s, the "complimentary" food was included. There was only one or two specialty dining restaurants back then. I just find it odd that now people are calling ot free or complimentary as opposed to included with the fare. It makes ot seem as though the passengers are being done a favor by calling it complimentary/free. That's all. BTW did you hear about the cruise reviewer who booked in Oct 2022 to secure a back to back (2 week cruise) starting with the inaugural and paid only $7,000 for a balcony cabin, aft of the ship. That's an awesome deal!
To think I was one of those kids on a cruise 18 years ago with my cousins… usually our families wouldn’t get any of the things you needed to pay extra for. First ship I was on was the Voyager of the Seas.
We hope you enjoyed this video, we would appreciate you supporting us by giving us a subscribe for more honest and entertaining videos!
Hoping to see this add free, This hasn’t appeared on Patreon for some reason, you put an update the other day but it didn’t work
@@sprigghouse It will be up as soon as we can get it up, the wifi is awful - it's taken 36 hours to upload.
@@Cruisewithwow, wifi not great on a new ship! Will watch on TH-cam later.
love you both and your videos sending hugs from your adopted gram in Ct usa xoxo
Your video is way smoother than others.
Only 15 mins in and you guys did such an amazing job at honestly reviewing this ship, I’ve seen a few other creators reviews and they failed to mention all of the ridiculous up charges. Thank you guys for always being honest and hilarious 💜

The cruise ship was not at full capacity in this cruise. Add another 3000 or more people when cruise at full capacity.

13:42 Relaxation area, yet who wants to bet there is loud music blaring 24/7 ?
i hate that about cruises when they blast fucking pop music while i’m trying to relax
The upcharges are definitely making me steer away from Royal in the future and stick with all inclusive options on Celebrity and Virgin. Appreciate the honestly as always fellas!
We really enjoy your reviews and honesty. Thanks!
Thanks so much!
This is a thank you. I enjoyed the content of your video. But, it made me realize that cruising on these large ships is not for me. So you have saved me $$$. I will continue watching your videos and enjoy them. I just will avoid being overwhelmed. 😉
An hour and a half video…I thought I was crazy to watch it. But I did. Excellent work, guys! It will be awhile before we get on this one. Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ben and David met the folks from 'Navigate With Colleen And Nate' she is also a wheelchair user, check out their reviews!!!
@@Prince_of_void Thanks, I will!
If Carnival is Walmart, Royal Caribbean is Target at best. The ships are beautiful but the rest is the same or worse than Carnival honestly.
Trust me once you go oh a mega ship, you'll never look back 😆 🤣 😂
You guys are so thorough. Thank you. We are small ship cruisers and usually Seabourn so it would not occur to me to look at this. You were correct - to us it’s a MONSTROSITY. Your title is spot on. Be well guys and keep going! You both are hilarious at times. 😊
Best video tour I've seen so far- your footage is stunning!
Wow, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent! I've seen a few reviews on Icon of the Seas and this is by far the BEST! Thorough and detailed and the video quality is superb!
Thank you. I have been watching these obsessively, we go on Icon in August, but I knew Ben and David would be the definitive, straightforward, review.
Great job guys!
When I saw the total time of your video I was skeptical but you're rolling right through it beautifully
Feels like you guys are doing as good a job narrating the tour as the design team did on the ship with the flow
Job well done for both you and RC
Thanks
Not sure why, but the Royal Promenade reminds me of an airport. So massive!
Thanks so much!
As always, superb videography and so many tips for future passengers.
Love your work boys!❤
Thank you! Beautifully recorded. This was thorough and enjoyable. Appreciate pointing out what’s included versus what is not.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for all of the hard work you put into giving us honest reviews! Keep up the fantastic work!
Totally agree- I cruise for the exact same reasons! It's nice to be taken care of sometimes, right? :)
I LOVE HOW U RECORD AND VOICE OVER VIDEOS ITS SO HIGH QUALITY I FEEL LIKE I WAS ENJOYING THE TRIP WITH U 😀☺️THANK U SO MUCH
Those upcharges are mental.
The walkthrough is outstanding guys, the camera work is chefs kiss! The speed and stabilisation make it so pleasant to watch. Hats off to you both
Omg yasss out of all of the vloggers reviewing this ship, I am most excited to see y'alls review ❤ I'm so happy right now 😂 .......the dinner dishes can wait a little bit lol.
Love the fact that they have chairs in the chill island area with foot rests. Love that they give something other than sun beds
I’ve been binging your videos tbh. Thank you so much for your review on Icon of the Seas! Thank you for your hard work, it’s an excellent tour💛
My family and I are going to be on this ship in April this year. It looks so freaking gigantic on the screen. I can't wait!!!
My new favorite channel love the honesty about up-charges out of control
I keep seeing you both around the ship filming, my wife and I love this ship so far
The video quality and commentary are stellar. You def help me understand the cruise ships you film
I haven’t watched anything on icon because I was waiting for you guys’ honest review!
Man's finest hour : the feat of engineering, technology and design and pushing the limits of creativity...absolute mesmerizing ship!!!❤❤❤❤❤😮😮😮😮
Just finished and wow what a great job you have done here. Hope you had a great time and managed to find time to enjoy yourselves x
First time viewer here - this was a fantastic video and your commentary was perfect. I truly appreciate the flow of the tour and your critiques/praises. Well done!
Awesome, thank you!
Your ship tours are the best in the business!
Thanks so much!
Did you know that "The Pearl" was essentially designed to hold the roof up as the Royal Promenade now has windows. It's structural.
Only checked tonight to see if you had done a vlog lately - great to see you
Thanks for watching! We have a new video every week. :-)
Has Ben or David shared what gear they use to film their videos? Looks great!
Haha! I kept thinking it also. Def not “complementary!”
I love that the lights at the lemon post bar are shaped like lemons. It’s so cute!
That looks amazing for a family. Good on RC for getting their new ship out on schedule.
It really is a fabulous family ship!
To think I was one of those kids on a cruise 18 years ago with my cousins… usually our families wouldn’t get any of the things you needed to pay extra for. First ship I was on was the Voyager of the Seas.
Just here enjoying the handywork of my countrymen in Finland, the best ship building nation in the world.
