You don't even need the sniper rifle. The (fully upgraded) stun arm also works. After repeatedly failing to tranquilize Eli with one shot and him noticing me I decided to try a new tactic and used the stun arm while I was on the lower deck of the boat. Thundergod Venom was able to knock him out. XD
watching the first 20 or so videos I can definitely say that displaying the objective before and after you have achieved it is excellent. I can tell you really took into consideration some of the comments/ criticism people had in episode 19 or 20. so well done
As of 2023: Tranq DOES NOT work. What you can do is sneak onto the boat, go to the doorway to Mamba's Left (when they are on their throne), use Lure with bionic arm then sneak to teh roof. He will then go out the opposite door you used lure too. simply drop on their head from the roof and it'll instant K.O. Just done it myself after failing with the tranq!
It still works for me though. You can’t shoot him from the side window, I made that mistake and it alerted him. It works when I do from the front like the video.

I shot Eli in the head 3 TIMES with a level 5 M2000 NL tranquilizer and he still wouldn't go down. I ended up having to fight him. Also, because this was my first playthrough, in order to get all 20 child soldiers extracted I had to keep running back and forth to put them on the chopper. Needless to say, it took forever. This mission was such a pain in my ass. Not hard just time consuming and frustrating. Especially when Eli wouldn't go down after the headshots. It's like it wouldn't let me take him down without the fight just so it could do that little cut scene.
Same here! I shoot, and shoot and keep shooting him on his head with my tranquilizing sniper rifle and the motherfucker just won't fall asleep... Oh, and in regard to your predicament: you don't need to extract the kids by chopper. Just fulton them! You just need to develop a kid-compatible fulton extraction device.
Not sure if sniping Eli has been patched but it dosnt work for me however if your having problems the stun arm is the way to go just be 40 meters or closer to him
I know this is 4 years after your video, just started to play this. My question is how do I know what all the mission tasks are? When I pull up the Idroid most of the tasks only have question marks. I can see all the main missions but not the other tasks. Thanks for the great videos.
Excellent videos. Thanks to your help I'll plat the game in a few hours. In general it would be very helpful though if you would show your settings before starting the mission (weapon, buddy etc.). But only for those missions who need something specific (like you forgot at mission 20 :) )
+Sasquatch Killzery Thanks mate. I'm using the sneaking suit that you get for uploading your Ground Zero save file. It's a level one sneaking suit so its not as good as the the others in the game, It just looks better :D
I mean you could always use jeeps to extract 3 at a time if you do not have the child fulton yet. But tbh, waiting to unlock that is not so bad considering many people would grind this level to get rid of their demon points.
It's stupid you don't get the fulton till mission 24 that unlocks a side mission to get it. I ran back and forth putting them in helicopters. And Japan wonders why we bombed them.

+xX-VIPER7-5-Xx The Wormhole Fulton is unlocked by completing the side op 50 "Capture the legendary Jackal" this is unlocked by completing mission 31 and a bunch of the side ops. So if you have completed mission 31 and can't do side op 50 yet then go through and do the side ops that give you the lowest GMP rewards until Side op unlocks. Then you have to develop the Fulton.

In my minds eye I should be pretty close to that... I've been keeping up with all the side missions and such too. I think as of right now I'm on 26 (kinda hard to believe since I've had this game since day one, yet redoing a lot of missions in the beginning for the cash and development and such).. I have yet to mess about with Online either.. all in good time before The Division and Uncharted4 =) ... Then they throw me the curve ball with the what comes with mission 24/25 (No Spoilers) I'm dealing with. Yes, I had to cheat a little on that one before that got out of hand...

***** Make sure he hasn't heard you extracting the other children and is still in his seat and maybe bake sure you can only see the top of his head. If you can see his eyes then he might be able to see you when you shoot. Let me if that helps.

Another good one is take DD with his fulton gear. You don't pay GMP for it.

The first time you go through a mission they will all be question marks. After you finish it the first time, then you will see them.

Another way to disable Eli without him resisting is to stun him with snakes max level stun arm, at max charge

7:20 is this possible to do this task if you have not that sniper riffle?
You can do it with the tranquilizer pistol but your aim has to be nearly perfect because if you miss and hit the ceiling Eli will be alerted
Don't worry about getting S rank first time around because you won't. just extract them by jeep to begin with.
