    🌞 Hey everyone! Today's adventure brings me to Quartzsite, AZ, where I'm visiting Solar Bills, a renowned business with a rich history. I'm here to meet Gus, the dynamic owner who's been at the helm for the last two years, passionately contributing to the legacy of this solar institution.
    🚌 Join me as Gus guides us through the essentials of solar installation for RVs. He's more than just the owner; he's a fountain of knowledge about everything solar. We'll explore the various products they sell and install, diving deep into the world of sustainable energy.
    💡 What's truly amazing about Gus and his team is their understanding and empathy towards those who might find professional installation a bit steep. They generously offer their expertise for free! Yes, that's right! I got a chance to chat with Gus, his wife, and their experienced staff, and they're all about helping anyone who walks into their shop with questions about solar installation.
    🛠️ For my fellow DIY enthusiasts, Gus's team is a godsend. They can provide you with an accurate estimate for labor, installation, and equipment, tailored to my needs. Since solar installations can vary greatly in size and complexity, this personalized advice is invaluable.
    ⏰ And here's the kicker: even during their busiest season in January, with just a four-day heads-up, you can get your RV into their shop for a comprehensive solar install, all done in one day!
    🌟 So, come along with me in this enlightening journey as I delve into the world of solar power with Gus and his team. Whether you're a seasoned RV traveler or new to the solar journey, there's something to learn for everyone. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more of my adventures in sustainable living!

    We just bought our RV in March. It came with 1 Go Power solar panel and charge controller, a 1,000 watt inverter and 2 lead acid batteries. In October we had Solar Bill upgrade ours by adding another solar panel, a better 30 AMP charge controller and 2 100 AMP hour lithium batteries. We’ve been out at LaPosa South LTVA since mid November and we’ve never had a problem. We went back to have them swap out the connectors for our solar generator so that we could use a solar panel we had from our last RV. We highly recommend Solar Bill.

      Thx for comment, I too have the same GoPower set up and I am watchjng this video from Plomosa rd😂 wondering about cost of upgrade from what you had. I know I would be satisfied with the upgrade, but what am I looking at how much$$$ for the upgrade...

      @@janebray9392we already had a 190 watt panel and a 1,000watt inverter installed from the factory. We swapped our Go Power Charge Controller out with a Blue Ky Energy Solar Boost 3000i based on their recommendation as the charge controller that came with the RV wasn’t working right with the lithium batteries. Total was about $2,200 dollars for the installation, solar charge controller, another solar panel bringing our our solar panels to 400 watts, and the 2 lithium batteries. Labor came in less than estimated as they told us our current inverter would be fine. The cost could be higher or lower depending on what price level you went with for the lithium batteries. We chose the Lion Energy batteries which from this video appears to be midrange. The solar panels are mounted on the roof. On our last RV we had 2 smaller solar panels on the ground with a built in charge controller and 2 lead acid batteries. We didn’t have an inverter. We could make it through a night running our heater, but if we didn’t have good sun, we’d have to run the generator a lot to get the batteries charged back up. We’re so glad we did this as we have been able to do so much more with the new solar system. We’ve never been low on power since. If we do run our generator, it’s for the microwave or things that use more than 1,000 watts.

      Good to know the original solar setup can be easily replaced. My 2023 Class C has the basic system you described, and I have been wanting to change to lithium for extended stays.

    I bought a hqst 60 amp charge controller. Has a huge heat sink. For 219.00 and a 48 volt power inverter 2500 wart for 209.00. Need to get my 48 volt battery yet 100 or 110 amp hour 5120 or 5600 watt hours.

    Just keep it simple. Get an all in one unit, like the EG4 or a similar unit. They are plug and play systems, very easy to hook up.

    The 200 amp fuzes went up 100 % in one year. I was not really surprised. But they do pretty good work.

    Great video, I was wanting to ask some questions about my system but afraid since I didn’t get their product they won’t answer. Now I’ll stop in and ask. I just added a 200w solar array today to boost up some charging.

    For an average Class C RV, do you think 4 Life PO 4 at 400 amp hours each would be enough ? 1600 AMP hours total... I'm looking to run AC off of solar also

    • @Dottietravels
      @Dottietravels  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably yes on the ac /a lot depends on how much solar you have feeding that massive 1600 amp bank. I would say a minimum of 3200 tilted in the winter. But this is way beyond my expertise - I’m likely wrong but not far off
