I think you are wrong about no clean feed over HDMI. The manual says "NOTE Your camera’s settings are visible on the HDMI output via a head up display. The HUD is a video overlay that shows you important information like shutter speed, iris, histogram, focus assist, frame guides, zebra and more. The HUD is always on by default and if you are connected to an ATEM switcher you will likely want to turn it off. You can disable the HUD by selecting ‘clean feed’ in your camera’s menu settings. For information on how to change the HUD settings, refer to the ‘monitor menu’ section in this manual."
Another undocumented feature is that you can split the usb port to allow for both connection to an ssd (or suitable thumb drive like some fpv pilots use) and also Ethernet. Nice review 🤙🏻
Great video, and a very good idea. This may be exactly the camera I'm looking for. I'm doing "walkthrough" videos on yachts, and I'm buying the new Feiyutech Scorp Mini 2 for that purpose. Since the Scorp has a reliable tracking sensor, I don't really need a monitor other than for setup. This camera plus the Zuiko 12 mm f/2 (or the Laowa 6 mm f/2 when I need to go ultra wide) would make for an extremely compact, lightweight setup, and B-RAW will help a lot during post, solving the tricky lighting conditions that I encounter onboard yachts.
I wanted this camera for similar reasons but due to the lack of Bluetooth I had to pass on it. My favorite feature on BMD cameras is it menu system but due to no Bluetooth we are subject to using the same awkwardly placed push buttons that everyone complained about on the previous versions of the studio and cinema camera. Bluetooth along with the new BMD Phone App would have been a perfect combination. I would have purchased 2 for run and gun.
Thanks. Interesting. Would've liked to have seen how the menu controls work for adjusting iris, frame/shutter rates/speeds etc via an external monitor, plus other things like any record limits due to potential heat issues, etc etc., Deeper dive, please. 🙂👍
Great video! Question though - Assuming you had compatible lenses, were you able to adjust focus remotely via HDMI or USB C/Ethernet? Just curious, thanks!
I love BMB but they keep missing me with the lack of common sense features. Bluetooth is a no brainer especially when you think of the new black magic phone app. This camera would have been the perfect candidate for such a coupling. So extremely frustrating😂. I was hoping to use this camera on a gimbal but will instead be purchasing a sigma fp. It’s such a shame because I so wanted to get the studio 4k g2 due to it’s form factors and unlimited lens selection. Once again just another missed opportunity.
Annoying that I'd need an esp32 microcontroller and a custom react.js app just to get remote control via the RESTful api without hanging an ATEM switcher off my belt.

Was just about to say. You can indeed get a clean feed on HDMI. You just have to disable the overlay.
We have used the clean feed from hdmi port on this camera
Now I can control the camera setting using my phone using RavenEye with my gimbal

I can control the camera setting using my phone by connecting usbc on raven to the camera
мечтаю о такой камере для полетов, летаю и снимаю на BMPCK4k, но она тяжеловата, а эти 304 грамма дают огромные возможности. спасибо за видео
Great video thanks for info and the use cases. Defo made look more closely at the camera.

PLUS - any advantages and disadvantages over the full Pocket 4K. Cheers.
Looks like a full open gate sensor but the format is not available. How about showing anamorphic shooters some love
I'd love to shoot a short film with this camera.

Yes you can. You can even plug the blackmagic zoom and focus demands innwith the right lens to control zoom and focus broadcast style

I like it
if it had internal recording I'd buy 4 of these....
Doesn't it have internal b-raw recording?
@@2MuchSwag4Funzies no internal recording.
@@jamesbridges1107 ahh, I've seen a guy use a USB-C flash drive on it so it's almost internal but still a failure point with recording. Damn.

Apparently your church rocks.

Carl told me to tell you he can no longer support your habit 😂.
I my church powers to be would see this camera as I do.. 😢
Less you and more sample videos...
What's up with those nails bro?
