This Verla is starting to sound a lot like Kreia when she stated that the Force basically just uses everyone and the fact that the Force does not see people as people is frankly terrifying.
My speculation on the Grand Inquisitor's appearance here: We know that Lord Momin's original plan before the Jedi stopped him was to freeze an entire civilization in the moment of their death, immortalizing their moment of despair forever within the Force. Vader's castle was built using somewhat similar methodology, under Momin's guidance. Vader would have naturally learned how Momin's unique dark side architecture works during the construction, as he demonstrated knowledge of how to use it once he defeated Momin. And let's not forget where the Grand Inquisitor died. Over Mustafar, where Vader's castle is built. It's even possible that Vader was in his castle at the time of the Inquisitor's death. If he sensed the Inquisitor's defeat from within his castle, he may have utilized the castle's power to freeze the Inquisitor's death within the Force, as Momin had originally been planning to do to a planet. I also kind of feel like pointing out that Luke did pretty well for himself during the duel. Despite the Inquisitor's taunting about Luke's poor form, Luke was clearly dominating the duel until the Inquisitor used the second blade. "Agh!" "Hnh!" The Grand Inquisitor was audibly straining with each of Luke's attacks, and was visibly being driven back by Luke's blade up until he activated the second blade of his lightsaber. I feel the Inquisitor only had an edge because he was able to exploit Luke's lack of experience against such an unorthodox weapon. At least, that's my observation.

My theory is that isnt really the grand inquisitor, its just a remnant in the force, after his death, a part of him still remained as fragments in the force, vader and the emperor later found these fragments and used sith necromancy or alchemy to create an illusion clone, one that retains the memories and experiences of the original, and due to the way the original died, the fragment's manifestation is in flames, my guess is that the only way for this fragment to be free and cease to exist is that if he succesfully traps a jedi, if that isnt the case my second guess is that there is some kind of artifact that holds together, preserve and projects this fragment, and the only was for him to be free is to destroy it, but since he is a projection from it, he is unable to to destroy it, another theory i have is that he wasnt fighting luke physically but only projected himself in his head to trap him in his own head and give the illusion of fighting until vader shows up to kill luke or any jedi, that might be why vader was such in a hurry to go to the outpost because he knows the grand inquisitor cannot actually kill a jedi and can only distract them long enough for him to arrive and do it personally
"you CAN say no" (her plea reminds me of the ending of the Firefly episode "Train Job" ) some people, because of who they are inside, *CAN'T* say no... and those are the ones who become heroes.
Most likely. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I'm excited to learn more. I love the idea of Luke owning another lightsaber before building his own in RotJ.
luke uses a forge and makes a synthetic green crystal, he finds designs for the hilt in obi’s hutt and makes his final green lightsaber when he becomes a jedi i’m guessing he just puts away the yellow saber. fun fact he used a red bladed shotto too to duel wield
I've missed your videos. You haven't been uploading very much so seeing a new video is always a fun moment. Keep up the good work and may the Force be with you.
That was Yoda testing Kanan. I believe this because the grand inquistor wouldn't have the authority to grant kanan his jedi knight title. But I might be wrong.
There're 2 possibilities 1.Vader captured his force-ghost in the Jedi-Temple, so it was indeed him. 2. It was just a vision 1 is more likely since it isn't really possible to trap someone who became one with the Force and resurrect him (If Vader could do that than he could also do it with Padme or his Mother). There's a chance the Grand Inquisitor learned the force-ghost technique from his force-ghost Jedi-Guardian brothers shortly after he died and nearly become one with the force.
At least we know now that Vader is a master in Sith Alchemy like in Legends. I imagine that Sidious taught him the ability to trap souls of former Dark Siders. Sidious could also use Sith Alchemy on Vader's Mask.Maybe Vader killed Padme in ROTS via Force Drain unconsciously, causing her to give up the will to live.
This comic was amazing and terryfing. Verla had a mixed vibe of Darth Kreia with Luke (ep8). She speaks of the Force almost as an lovecraftian entity, and the scariest part is... what if she is right? What if the Force is an bizarre entity from another dimension that just play with the galaxy just for fun? What if the will of the Force is basically, in meta language, the expression of what the creators and fans do with the galaxy?? And a few pages later, we discover that Vader is literally punishing the grand inquisitor, burning him "alive", for eternity (or at least until Vader dies). It doesn't get more metal than this edition LOL.
So...is grand inquisitor still alive? Resurrected by Vader? And still on the dark side? But how could he then appear to Kanan as a light side forcuser (temple guard)? So many questions!
Alex Torres, maybe not entirely corrupted. I’d say that he’s more so a slave to Vader now then he was before. He just wants to be released, to be free again. To that extent he’ll do what he’s told. It’s all rather sad...
At least we know now that Vader is a master in Sith Alchemy like in Legends. I imagine that Sidious taught him the ability to trap souls of former Dark Siders. Sidious could also use Sith Alchemy on Vader's Mask.
@@alextorres7085 Yoda didn't create the vision, the force did. It was all part of it trying to guide them so that they can restore the balance on Lothal by sealing the gateway and stopping palpatine.
@Moses Gutierrez No, Force-ghosts don't kill, they're always neutral! And you can't fight Force-ghosts, so it was just a vision. Vader probably captured his spirit and brought it to the temple to Hunt Luke probably.
Ah so he experienced a force vision upon picking up the lightsaber.. and of the grand Inquisitor.. If that's the case then the saber must've belonged to the grand Inquisitor when he was a temple guard.
Wth I was just thinking about how Luke used all three main lightsaber colors (there's a comic where he uses an ancient red lightsaber) and now a video is recommended to me about him using a yellow saber.
But it could also be a force Vision in the Jeditemple, Luke has taken an old lightsaber from a temple guard in hand, that may even have belonged to the Grand Inquisitor, that's why he also had a vision of him. After all, Luke was in a Jedi temple. Cal Kestis had also touched the inquisitor's sword and could see into the past. So maybe Luke too. Just as Cal Kestis found out about the previous owner of the lightsaber, so did Luke. The yellow lightsaber was also split in half, as the temple guards had double-bladed lightsabers Rey also had a vision when she touched Luke`s or Anakin`s lightsaber. He would have killed Kanan and Ezra and other Jedi if they had saved him from death, bedause Kanan could have used the force to stop his fall oder pull him up. This Vision may also show, that the Grand Inquisitor did not change his attitude throug his suicide, or regretted anything he had done.
While I dislike Luke not making his own lightsaber, I do like the High Republic refence, seeing what has been done to the Grand Inquisitor, and the Jedi Outpost.
I think it definitely is to do with sith sorcery. He did say in rebels “ there are so thing far more frighting that death” I feel like his spirit has been tied to the temple and he can’t leave. If he killed a Jedi maybe he can leave because we see the fire disappear when he gets the upper hand but then he’s left in a worse state after the fight.
It's cool that we see the grand inquisitor but wasn't he redeemed in like season 2 of Rebels? When his spirit helps Kanan and Ezra escape that jedi temple on Lothal? That happened before Luke even joined the rebellion but yeah whatever it's not a big deal just figured whoever wrote this would know that since they clearly watched the show but cool comic seriously I'm not bitching just something I noticed....
When i heard Luke was tapped in a pit filling with water all i could think of was Avatar The Last Airbender when Aang and Zuko are trapped in the pit on the Fire Tribe's island lol. Both were trapped in pits by someone/someones that werent bad guys. I just smoked a blunt and i guess i thought this was cool lmao
Easily, even as an inexperienced duelist he was able to match Vader. The inquisitors were slightly above average but kept at a level that left them as no threat to Vader
Aity7 the worst part about the NuCanon comics is that they're just as interesting and bizarre as EU comics and could easily fit in the Legends timeline of events...
Oh cool, the lightsaber that Luke found is really a Temple Guards lightsaber/pike just damaged. You can see that it's damaged at the end of the hilt, plus the design gives it away. I wonder if it could have been the Grand Inquisitor's and his spirit is attached to it?
There would appear to me an inverse relationship between how well a jedi is trained ans how they fair against the grand inquiator. Hes lost twice now to barely trained jedi, yet his boasting in rebels would point to his having defeated far better trained opponents
@@SadAndVengeful I enjoy it. Also, technically the Grand Inquisitor isn't really alive more just there as a Sith apparition. Also, how is Vader and Mary Sue, or more specifically, a Gary Stew?
That was a really interesting video, thank you. I wonder since it was a curse which was bestowed upon him, was the Grand Inquisitor set free after Vader died? And if not, I feel really bad for him. Kinda reminds me of Admiral Zhao and Captain Salazar who both were condemned to iternal torment. But if the Grand Inquisitor was suffering because of Vader, could he become more powerful with the dark side?
Anyone else bothered by his straight teeth? His race is supposed to have sharpened teeth and I'm pretty sure he does in Rebels. But besides that, really interesting duel I did not expect to happen!
At least we know now that Vader is a master in Sith Alchemy like in Legends. I imagine that Sidious taught him the ability to trap souls of former Dark Siders. Sidious could also use Sith Alchemy on Vader's Mask.
Sith sorcery would be what was used to trap the inquisitors souls, whilst sith alchemy would be what was used on Vader's armour and in the creation/mutation of living beings. I really like the idea of both being something vader is well versed in.
Is there a story glitch here at 1:37 if she told him was this before or after the fifth movie? He would have then known he was related to him in some way!
This comic proves that the writers of the current Star Wars are hypocrites. They killed off all the Inquisitors in Rebels, stating that this was due to them not being around for the Original Trilogy... and yet the ghost of one fighting Luke is somehow fine. Right.
At least we know now that Vader is a master in Sith Alchemy like in Legends. I imagine that Sidious taught him the ability to trap souls of former Dark Siders. Sidious could also use Sith Alchemy on Vader's Mask.
It's to explain why they aren't in the movies, not why they aren't within that era. The Grand Inquisitor's ghost is trapped in a temple, and that's pretty self-explanatory as to why he isn't running around in the OT. He can't. He's stuck where he is.
@@javierlopez9789 i try to look at what is most consistent as usually this means something that keeps getting hinted at will become canon especially if fans jump all over it fast enough while it is still fresh cause that would mean said content creator will want to bring it up with the current copyright owner cause popularity is worth money.
I dunno how I feel about this use of the Inquisitor. He’s a great character, and there should be more of him in canon, but this sort of nullifies Kanan’s victory against the Inquisitor, as the Inquisitor is still causing harm in the galaxy, even if he is trapped in purgatory.
Doesn't nullify his victory at all. The victory was part of Kanan's growth as a jedi and was able to stop a direct threat to his friends and lothal as a whole. Besides, from my understanding the inquisitor is trapped at that location. I wouldn't exactly call that causing harm to the galaxy.
worldofazeroth Aaah, that’s a good point! So he can only operate within the confines of the temple. Hopefully the comics explain more about what is exactly happening with the Inquisitor, and how he’s being used by Vader as this spectral force.

"you CAN say no" (her plea reminds me of the ending of the Firefly episode "Train Job" )
some people, because of who they are inside, *CAN'T* say no... and those are the ones who become heroes.
so later in the timeline the yellow lightsaber was give away or destoryed so luke can have a green one
Most likely. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I'm excited to learn more. I love the idea of Luke owning another lightsaber before building his own in RotJ.
@@stevenlanzarotta9576 Agreed, why not tbh?
luke uses a forge and makes a synthetic green crystal, he finds designs for the hilt in obi’s hutt and makes his final green lightsaber when he becomes a jedi i’m guessing he just puts away the yellow saber. fun fact he used a red bladed shotto too to duel wield
@@rx-0862 That info is from Legends, We don't exactly know how he got his green saber in the new canon.
I've missed your videos. You haven't been uploading very much so seeing a new video is always a fun moment. Keep up the good work and may the Force be with you.
I did not know that Luke Skywalker found the grand inquisitor
Didn’t the Inquistor join the light side temple in Rebels I’m very confused
Yeah, but Vader took over that temple afterwards. It’s completely possible that Vader captured his soul from within the temple.
I think that was a mere vision but I could be wrong.
That was Yoda testing Kanan. I believe this because the grand inquistor wouldn't have the authority to grant kanan his jedi knight title. But I might be wrong.
That was merely a reflection of Yoda and the Force remembering the noble Jedi Knight he once was.
There're 2 possibilities
1.Vader captured his force-ghost in the Jedi-Temple, so it was indeed him.
2. It was just a vision
1 is more likely since it isn't really possible to trap someone who became one with the Force and resurrect him (If Vader could do that than he could also do it with Padme or his Mother).
There's a chance the Grand Inquisitor learned the force-ghost technique from his force-ghost Jedi-Guardian brothers shortly after he died and nearly become one with the force.
Love this channel so much! thank you for the interesting videos!
I left a like for *unexpected returns*
This explains where he found out his fathers name
I assumed Owen and Obi-Wan told him the name, but left out almost everything else.
Yeah man. He knew his fathers name was anakin his whole life
I mean his name is even said in a New Hope so he always knew his dad's name. Still uncertain on if he knew who his mother was.
@@Bobrob1597 no it wasn't?
The Gaming Kitchen bro...... have you actually seen a new hope? Because anakin’s name is for facts said in episodes 4+5. Both before this comic
@5:20
Never seen an Utapaun with teeth in that good shape...
It's cool to see what the grand inquisitor was talking about in rebels and how hes trapped forever by vader now
BRO HOLY SHIT THAT'S WHAT HE MEANT BY FAR WORSE THINGS THAN DEATH..... BRUH that is actually horrific just wow......
This is awsome. I always wanted to see Luke fight the Grand Inquisitor.
Alex Torres, I’d say the latter - personally.
@Moses Gutierrez No, Force-ghosts don't kill, they're always neutral!
Purple?
the RGB Saber
i didnt even see the full title of the video, all i seen was "Luke" and "yellow lightsaber" and i clicced IMMEDIATELY lol
The yellow lightsaber was also split in half, as the temple guards had double-bladed lightsabers
Rey also had a vision when she touched Luke`s or Anakin`s lightsaber.
He would have killed Kanan and Ezra and other Jedi if they had saved him from death, bedause Kanan could have used the force to stop his fall oder pull him up.
This Vision may also show, that the Grand Inquisitor did not change his attitude throug his suicide, or regretted anything he had done.
I think bringing back the grand inquisitor was a bad idea
While I dislike Luke not making his own lightsaber, I do like the High Republic refence, seeing what has been done to the Grand Inquisitor, and the Jedi Outpost.
Damn, great video
Im so confused to how the Grand Inquisitor is here
My money's on Sith Sorcery by Vader or the Emperor
He's probably just an illusion
I think it definitely is to do with sith sorcery. He did say in rebels “ there are so thing far more frighting that death” I feel like his spirit has been tied to the temple and he can’t leave. If he killed a Jedi maybe he can leave because we see the fire disappear when he gets the upper hand but then he’s left in a worse state after the fight.
Sith alchemy, duh
@@Jackx31 He faded away, so I think he died.
Great vid
So now we're getting "high republic" refferances.
I wonder if Luke at the time of Return of the Jedi could defeat the Grand Inquisitor or other members of the Inquisitorius
Oh yes he would. Inquisitors weren’t that skilled.
Easily, even as an inexperienced duelist he was able to match Vader. The inquisitors were slightly above average but kept at a level that left them as no threat to Vader
I'd say he'd be able to beat almost all except the Grand Inquisitor and possibly the Second Sister
@@Godzilla00X he was never q match for vader
@@Godzilla00X Vader was going easy on him every duel in the OT.
Wait wait wait, the Grand Inquisitor died before Luke became a rebel...
It seems a good canon story, even if I prefer the Extended Univers... Oops, the Legend 😁.
Thank you 😊👍
Aity7 the worst part about the NuCanon comics is that they're just as interesting and bizarre as EU comics and could easily fit in the Legends timeline of events...
@@blackshogun272 that's true 👍
Oh cool, the lightsaber that Luke found is really a Temple Guards lightsaber/pike just damaged. You can see that it's damaged at the end of the hilt, plus the design gives it away. I wonder if it could have been the Grand Inquisitor's and his spirit is attached to it?
Another great video!!!!
So this was made by Vader? Huge power boost here as he is able to use the Dark Side to anchor dark spirits to a place and retain control of them.
There are things... *worse than death*
That's a harsh price for serving the dark side
How have you been doing? It’s been awhile!
death is only the beginning
What winds up happening to the yellow bladed lightsaber before episode 6? Since he has a green one at that point.
Love yellow lightsaber blade
There would appear to me an inverse relationship between how well a jedi is trained ans how they fair against the grand inquiator. Hes lost twice now to barely trained jedi, yet his boasting in rebels would point to his having defeated far better trained opponents
So now Disney's Vader can bring people from the death? Do you all really enjoy this Mary Sue Vader?
Stfu
@@mr.mister2411 Sorry to hurt your PG-13 feelings, kiddo.
@@SadAndVengeful I enjoy it. Also, technically the Grand Inquisitor isn't really alive more just there as a Sith apparition. Also, how is Vader and Mary Sue, or more specifically, a Gary Stew?
So is the grand Inq. split in two? We saw a redeemed Inq. in Rebels, and a former shadow of him in that temple?
This women is basically a less developed and less experienced version of Kreia who also hated and wanted to destroy the force
And so he has been punished for betraying the Jedi Order.
So even after Vader's death he just sitting there
Anyone else bothered by his straight teeth? His race is supposed to have sharpened teeth and I'm pretty sure he does in Rebels. But besides that, really interesting duel I did not expect to happen!
More dark side force ghosts in canon?!
Loved it
At least we know now that Vader is a master in Sith Alchemy like in Legends.
@@TY-km8hj Maybe Vader killed Padme in ROTS via Force Drain unconsciously, causing her to give up the will to live.
@@Nubin2000 I highly doubt, there is a theory that sidious drained her and then and used her life force to help keep anakin alive.
I don’t understand why he had go to all that trouble to find a lightsaber when his was about to be found by the ugnaughts on cloud city anyway.
You should never turn the words of writers just look at G.R.R.M and Filoni they are flimsy.
shut up
It's to explain why they aren't in the movies, not why they aren't within that era. The Grand Inquisitor's ghost is trapped in a temple, and that's pretty self-explanatory as to why he isn't running around in the OT. He can't. He's stuck where he is.
@@da-vidcargill4975 No.
Luke is such a conflicted character in both legends and in canon.
He has a much better development in legends tho
@@javierlopez9789 i try to look at what is most consistent as usually this means something that keeps getting hinted at will become canon especially if fans jump all over it fast enough while it is still fresh cause that would mean said content creator will want to bring it up with the current copyright owner cause popularity is worth money.
Finally a vid 😂🤣😂
@starwarsreadingclub whats your favorite lightsaber color? And why?
So this is disney canon right not legends
So there's a Dark Side power that lets you keep sentient ghost thralls now?
But how does the Grand Inquisitor go from being a servant of Vader to the peaceful ghost form that helped Kanan Jaris later in Rebels?
Is this the same saber rey gets at the end of the
movie
So dark side could sometimes resurrect dead people. Kind of
Many sith did in legends or achieved some forms of immortality so why not here.
Can someone explain to me how in one comic a jedi catches the lightsaber on bespin and says follow your destiny but then in another he's looking for it in a scrap ysrk on bespin ?
so could the GI kill luke then and there or is it just a vision sort of thing. like say he stabbed luke would luke feel it or what i’m so confused
Doesn't this contradict Kanan's vision of the Grand inquisitor back in his temple guardians robes?
tHaTS nOt LuKEs LiGHtsAbEr
So was the inquisitor a spirit was he there?
A trapped spirit more then likely.
A Jedi taken out by a droid. Pathetic.
Wait the inquisitor is still alive
How
What
hes not alive hes a spirit trapped in a jedi temple for his punishment for failing vader
So, guess Kenner is canon now😂😂
