      Sadly, Disney needs to keep this franchise going for a good 4 or 5 more years or so if they want to recoup all the money they spent buying this franchise, and portraying Kreia's philosophy as potentially valid hurts the brand, so even though Verla is objectively right, she's portrayed as an uptight cynic. If you question the force, you question the jedi. If you question the jedi, you question yourself IRL on why you're wasting money on buying plastic light sabers

      @@sudanemamimikiki1527 Did George Lucas or Disney intend on portraying the force as evil? No. Has the force, which is a sentient being with its own will, been responsible for every galactic war in the story? Yes. The force turns people into jedi and sith to create "balance". Balance = eternal warfare = eternal bloodshed

    • @TehSpessPiret
      @TehSpessPiret 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@sudanemamimikiki1527 the dark side of the force is still part of the force. The idea that emotions like rage, passion, and everything else the sith represent are corrupt and unnatural is Jedi propaganda. The idea that eradicating the sith will bring "balance" is Jedi propaganda. Anikan was the chosen one of the force, and do you know how he brought "balance"? By genociding the Jedi. The force doesn't want to get rid of sith. It wants there to be an equal amount of Jedi and Sith in the galaxy who are destined to fight each other endlessly, leading to countless casualties of the nonforce users caught in the crossfire

      @TehSpessPiret 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@hwatooo9498 thank you for taking the time to read this obscure argument. Refer the last two sentences of my previous comment. According to the lore, the force determines the fates of those who are connected to it. It guides people down the path of sith or jedi or neither, giving everyone the illusion of free will. I'm sure Disney will retcon this so all force wielders have total free will, so that everything can be happy and nice in rainbow land, and my only counterargument is that's less fun for me. I've come to terms with the fact that the darker edgier cosmic horror version of star wars I like is a flakey piece of pseudo canon slowly being smothered out of existence. That's why I've moved on to other things. Maybe Star Wars isn't for me, and that's ok. Maybe Star Wars is for you, and that's also ok. We're all just nerds looking for some entertainment to ease the grind of daily living in the end.

      Yeah I love how they were able to take such a vague quote that Dave put in and made it make sense, you have to wonder if Dave Filoni has the idea for this to happen, but obviously he can’t show that in a kids show so he left it to a comic book to say if so that is truly epic.

    So what make sense to me is that in Rebels after the Grand Inquisitor granted Kanan the rank of Knight and Vader ransacked the Lothal temple, Vader somehow caught the Grand Inquisitors force spirit and made him the Empire's slave.

    • @OfficialOpinion
      @OfficialOpinion 4 ปีที่แล้ว +256

      I don't believe that was the Inquisitor's true spirit inside the Lothal Temple.
      Ahsoka and Ezra each had visions of things that weren't actually there. We
      see Ahsoka encounter a ghostly appearance of Anakin and Vader. We saw
      Ezra take on the Grand Inquisitor and watched him kill Kanan. I think the spirit
      we see in the comic is legitimately him, but that Kanan was knighted
      by a personification of the Force in a familiar setting, using G.Inquisitor as a
      familiar face and a "Jedi" of sorts.

    Heres some interesting food for thought.
    In season 2 of Star Wars Rebels, the Grand Inquisitor's spirit already returned (conjured by yoda). In that episode, the inquisitor had been redeemed and helped by completing Kanan's training and defeating the fifth brother and seventh sister so the rebels could escape. Pablo Hidalgo confirmed that Yoda conjured the spirit.
    This raises some questions. Dis Vader enslave the inquisitor after Yoda brought him back? Was the inquisitor enslaved prior to season 2 and briefly liberated by yoda? I'm looking forward to learning more about this unique force ghost.

      He needs a blue crystal to add to the yellow. I wonder if he'll find his own piece of colorless kyber or if he'll re-purpose another saber. His RotJ hilt does imitate Obi-Wan's (although I'd prefer he do his own construction). Starting over with his own green crystal(s) feels like it would be a waste of this arc...unless the yellow gets tucked away for some other future force-user. Although I'm one of those who'd be happy to leave the Disney!trilogy its own thing. But it's also worth noting that in RotJ Luke says, "I no longer use yours [Anakin's lightsaber]." So maybe in comic!canon he will eventually reunite with Anakin's lightsaber pre-RotJ and perhaps borrow a crystal. That might be too complicated though considering the Skywalker lightsaber's future....

      In legends at least some Sith can preserve their consciousness As spirits
      Marka Ragnos is a famous example
      However a Sith Ghost is different from a Force Ghost
      To be a Force Ghost one must embrace death and preserve their consciousness after becoming one with the Force
      A Sith Force Ghost is one who resists death and separates from becoming one with the Force, to prevent losing their individuality, not able to find peace being separated from the Force as a whole
      Even if Palpatine was a ghost he would f be able to do much without a body
      In legends Palpatine resisted death any way he could, and used younger Clone Bodies of himself. The one thing TROS got right was Palpatine transferring his soul to clones to preserve his life in the physical world and be a threat

      5th and dark side of the force users tend to be able to have a way past death but it usually requires them to imbibe themselves into an artifact like moment with his helmet and other sith with old sith swords and armor pieces and even talismans but it's like pretty much creating a cursed item and not so much their actual embodiment if any of this makes sense to you they pretty much require some outside force to manifest as opposed to a Jedi who can literally just manifest as a force ghost especially on planets that are very in tune with the light side of the force

My speculation is that Vader used the knowledge he gained from Lord Momin to permanently freeze the Grand Inquisitor's soul in the moment of its death (as Momin had intended to do to the population of an entire planet), and then bound that soul to the Jedi outpost on Tempes as a trap for any wayward or wannabe Jedi.
