    $285k. Damn. Well worth it, but I'm not sure you get that value back in terms of resale value - but it is VERY awesome and I would absolutely love it. Good to know the turf is only $25k

      @tennisviking  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, no $ value back but the family did say they are planning on staying at that farm until the end…their parents live around there too, so it’s a nice little family farm. I would love to have that court as well 😀👌👌👌

    That is the Smart Racket from Babolat, that tells you how you hit the ball and how hard and also where you e hit the ball, kind of a built in coach, I believe you can either connect to computer or lap top and read your results

    The racket has a sensor in it that tells you where you hit the ball on your string bed, my friend lent me one once. It was actually very nice and I enjoyed using it.

    my university has indoor courts built with these kind of material.
    everybody hates it because the bounce isn't common
    but i learnt much of my tennis there and i have to say these material is very friendly to the body if one wants to spend a large amount of time on court also the slow bounce force one to strike better thus enhance the learning

    This is an awesome set up, if I had the money this is exactly what I would do…also with that extra space behind the court I’d lay more turf down and make a chipping and putting green lol

    I MacGyver'd a batting cage out of old nets and poles, which my boys loved and all the neighbor's kids used. I thought that made me a pretty cool dad. And then I saw this ... WOW.

    I wonder how the light fittings hold up! Maybe there's some sort of toughened acrylic covers? BTW that court surface is very common in Australia, it's certainly a favorite of clubs with older players, unfortunately clay courts are very rare here

    Awesome court! Would love to have this in my backyard!
    Question, to get some more height in the building, would’ve it been possible to dig a meter or so out?

    • @tennisviking
      @tennisviking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The steel pillars are set deep in concrete to hold the frame of the barn, so digging around those would be troublesome. They did look into tearing it all down and making it wider, but the cost was insane, so they kept the frame and renovated walls, roof and flooring instead 👍 Thanks for the question 👌

    Is the surface different than the carpet courts? I played on one of those in Zurich.

    • @tennisviking
      @tennisviking  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve played on carpet indoors where you would have shoes without too much profile underneath it else you would get stuck. This is artificial grass about 1-2 cm tall with sand spread out. Really like this flooring 👌👌👌

    That's what I call a BRILLIANT investment. Out of curiosity, does the sand eat the strings?

    • @tennisviking
      @tennisviking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, the sand does not affect strings or balls or anything…just get stuck in your socks a bit but you don’t feel it when you play 👍

    why do they want to put sand on the turf? if there is no sand, does it feel closer to grass or hard court rather than clay?

    • @tennisviking
      @tennisviking  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. The sand helps protect the turf from wear and tear on certain spots, like you see on grass at Wimbledon. It also helps transfer energy and prevents too much getting stuck and twisting ankles. It is very nice to play on.

    • @sergino83
      @sergino83 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The surface is called smashcourt, it is a compromise between clay and artificial grass. Sand removes friction and slows the ball down a bit. Upside is low maintenance costs and all season playable surface.

      😳 what part of the US?

  • @Mills354
    @Mills354 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is that $$ amount in USD? Or is that in Denmark currency (just clarifying, sorry if it’s a dumb question)

    • @tennisviking
      @tennisviking  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s the price they paid in Denmark, but calculated in $ amount to make it easier to compare it to other countries/currencies. Not sure what it would cost in the US or if you could even get that surface there 🤷‍♂️

    • @Mills354
      @Mills354 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tennisviking so it’s not $280k USD? It’s $280k of Danish currency (danish krone) if I understood that right?

    • @tennisviking
      @tennisviking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Mills354 It is $285k in US dollars (roughly 2 million danish kroner). I should have made that more clear in the video. Thanks for asking!
