Woof, watching that guy prepping the concrete for paint without a mask on stressed me out. Silicosis is real and I saw a lot of people being pretty cavalier about it when I was working on construction sites. Same with respect to hearing protection. Good editing and beautiful courts.
You don't have to be rich to build one. I'm currently in the process of building mine but I plan to hire hands, by the material, and supervise the job myself to save costs.
@Cape and Island Tennis & Track ok cool. yes I've noticed if you don't get it down and move along you'll have issues. Does it require a second coat that way? And are you still using a line primer when you go brush? I have had new guys try to go over something they rolled 45 seconds before and it looks like the spackle ceiling in my grandmother's basement circa 1980 😄
I used to play on asphalt. Asphalt is cheaper to build and requires no steel reinforcement or painting. But it doesn't like temperature extremes. You'll get a few uneven spots after some years but not too bad.

These courts were fun to build. I enjoyed it every day. From the quiet nature around us to the mountainous view. One of my favorite jobs.

any tennis players know the different between the bounce on a concrete vs asphalt tennis court?
I think that in the concrete the Ball reaches more speed
Game is fast on both of these courts but, the concrete courts last long and don’t develop cracks easily as compared to the asphalt one.

I read somewhere recently that it costs anywhere from $65K to about $100K for a hardcourt to be built depending where you are in the US.
