Works for skin cancer! My husband has had probably 15 or 16 skin cancers, mostly on his face. The dermatologist has excised all of them, sometimes taking skin the size of a quarter, and then stitching it together. It is very disfiguring. Three years ago, I found out about plantain oil. I picked and dried plantain leaves, put them in a jar and poured olive oil over it to cover. I let it sit for six weeks. Oh, and I leave the leaves in the oil. Every time now he thinks he may be getting another skin cancer, he dabs the oil on it. He has not had to see the dermatologist again since he’s been using plantain oil! Hallelujah! Praise Jesus! God’s Pharmacy is the best

A preserving tip for salves is before pouring it into containers, stir in a bit of vitamin E oil. This will lengthen the shelf life and is also healing for the skin. When I make to many tins, I put the rest in a zip lock bag and pop it in the door of the freezer but always have one in the fridge door when the one on the counter runs out. I also like calendula salve also.
And btw, don’t ever call yourself ugly! You are are a fine fine man who knows how to sport overalls! ❤

Justin I just made 13 containers of plantain salve 2/18/24. I let it sit in oil for over 2 months strained the oil added my bees wax from my honey bees and added some essential oil. Everyone I give it to loves it. I’ve been making it for years and it’s great for stings and itchy skin. Great video.

Grind it up fresh with charcoal in a mortor & pestal. The results are shocking in treating mosquito bites. The charcoal inhibits mold & fungus growth in the paste. And neutralizes the toxins faster.. Just cover thith a bandaid to prevent staining clothes.

I love your video, and your son is adorable! Thank you for this. So many people have no idea just how important plantain is. It's one of the best medicinal plants out there, and most people just dismiss it as a useless weed. It's great for bug bites, but will also draw infection out of wounds, cuts, blisters, any sort of broken skin. If there's any pus in there, it will start to heal in, no joke, less than 24 hours. Plantain has antimicrobial properties, so the wound won't reinfect. Amazing plant. And, it's edible. Young leaves add zest to a salad.
So thanks again for this video about it, and showing people how to make a salve out of it.

Here in the UK, I have both Narrow Leaved and Broad Leaved Plantain growing around my house. I love the way the Narrow Leaved ones send up their flower stems and go to seed, I watch the hares that visit our garden and sometimes they gobble the seed heads right up! I have used chewed leaf on a bite that I scratched at and it stopped the bleeding immediately, so cool. I have a jar of plantain oil I made two years ago, just by filling the jar 2/3 full with fresh leaves and filling to the top with olive oil. I just left it near the stove on our kitchen counter, its now a lovely green! So I'm inspired by your video to finally make salve. Thank you!

@@user-ms1uz7th1w A spit poultice is when you stick one of the leaves in your mouth and chew it up pretty good to release the plant juices, then take the chewed leaves and put it on the sting, bite or wound.

It was listed as 車前草in a 400-year old Chinese herbs/plants/medicine book 本草綱目。it said grounded seeds can be taken with tea from boiled plantain leaves to heal urinating pain, overactive bladder and diarrhea. Nose bleeding and blood urinating can also be stopped by drinking juice of the grounded plantain leaves on an empty stomach. There are also recipes with its seeds and other herbs to heal eye illness.

I just now stumbled onto this video. Wow, thank you for showing us how to make this salve/ointment. I'm a retired RN and herbalist who loves making helpful "potions". My plan is to get some plantain seeds and establish a specific spot/place for them to grow where I can harvest (I'm 69y/o and need things to be in raised beds or pots so I don't have to do so much bending over). We are in NC and I was listening to your southern accent (similar to ours up here in the appalachians) and guessing you might be from Louisiana; so, I did some research and it looks like y'all may be in Mississippi? I could listen to you talk for hours and hours. Y'all make some mighty nice pottery, too. I'm a newby potter myself. Just do hand building (that wheel whuped me). Anyhow, you and your precious family have a great weekend! Thanks again.

I so enjoyed your video Sir. Had to replant lawn after water shortage a couple seasons ago. Have a huge crop og plantain in the new lawn now. Didn't want to killl it, as i realize in tough times....it can be eaten. Thank you for this enjoyable lesson. Will order some bee's wax and start a batch!💖👍

I had one of these come up in my yard. I had no idea what it was but had a feeling it was “something good” so I relocated it to a flowerbed so my husband wouldn’t mow it down.

This video is a breath of fresh air! I literally smiled through the whole thing. I have to say, living in Toronto, Canada, we need more down to earth, happy, laid back people like you in the cities. Thank you for such an informative video. Easy, honest, I love the accent, and no fancy polished kitchen, we make do with what we have at hand.

Just one question, did you get yourself a french press? I hope so, you deserve it! 😊
