Non ironically, i won against a phantasm spiral deck just by summoning a lantern shark and a silent angler, and attacking until the lp turned 0, not activating any card is a genuine strat against this deck
That sounds like your opponent bricked or had a terrible Phantasm Spiral deck to me. They summoned nothing while this happened? Not even searching a monster at all?
I did something similar, but with some kaijus, without activating anything, just hiting over and over.
That's why mega/mekk nomral is so important, so if your opponent knows the strat then you can still activate field spell and search.
@@DallySkyeAnims err no, it's a legit strat. Because I myself run Paleozoic Phantasm Spiral with no normal monster. (except the level 8 one)
It's token dependent when open without Paleo. Opponent can legit win by beat down without activating anything.
Have you considered how the deck works is telegraphed

I played a version of this deck fairly early on in my ladder climb and one duel in particular I will never forget. My opponent kept finding new and creative ways to remove my token only for it to immediately be replaced in a new chain because of Pacifis. Truly an absolutely cracked field spell.
It would nice to see a non-budget version for comparison and an eventual upgrade path
The non budget version would probably just have like 3 copies of skill drain and a terraforming lol
he goes over like every single way to upgrade the deck during the video. you can just cut some of the generic fluff for any staples you have.

if you want to be extra spicy and make this a no-fun deck, heat wave and summon limit are funny choices
Heat wave is a recommended card for this deck but it's an SR.
I played this in XYZ festival too! I was playing... the ugh LESS budget friendly version, and boy was it fun. You made the comment on not having the power to put up lethal, that's why I was playing the Dragon and the equip spells, being able to throw down a 2900 beater backed by skill drain, shades of a poor man's Eldlich. I was able to get to 20k points in last couple days of the event, even having started VERY late into it
Nice deck! More n/r only decks would be cool cause I can always have them on the side without investing anything
If you want another N/R deck I can only recomment Majespecters. I feel like they are a bit better as well.

You have Megaliths, you get some from the Solo mode, they only have one SR and they can later be upgraded with other Ritual engines like Necroz, Cyber Angels or even Drytrons. Here's the video from HardLeg Gaming, it opened my eyes on this archetype and ritual monsters in general

These N/R decks should really include the ‘free’ cards as options or honourable mentions.
I love this, keep the N/R lists coming! I'd love to see an upgrade path after the example duel that way if we like the deck we know where to go from there.
Oh, I actually built this deck, really enjoyed it, and crafted some cards for it! I removed the Paleozoics for Ash Blossoms and Skill Drains, then I cut his Mekk-Knight engine, Torrentual tribute (this is worth keeping though), Compulse, Lost Wind (also worth keeping), and punishments for three pot of extravagance (prosperity works too), solemn judgements, a single Phantasm Spiral Dragon, a small Tenyi engine (1 Mapura, 2-3 Vishuda, and 2 Heavenly Dragon Circle for searching Unrivaled Fists and to summon Phantasm Spiral Dragon). This is just how I changed the deck list, you can change it and play how you want. Also, "Normal Fusions" aren't normal monsters, so they do conflict with your Phantasm Spiral cards, so don't play into your Tenyi extra deck.
Edit: Summon limit is also decent for this deck since it doesn't summon too much, but it does keep re-summoning the token so be careful. Also, Heat Wave is a very good card to add. I ran out of SR thingies though
Happy to see MBT covering this deck, and that he's a man of culture. This deck is stupidly fun to play.
Something you missed - if you have SSA up then you can chain it to your opponents effect to banish your token. This will summon another token after the chain resolves, giving you another search.

Another option for your 2k normal monster slot is Mystery Shell Dragon, along with three Heavenly Dragon Circle. This does lose to There Can Be Only One, but Heavenly Dragon Circle has three big advantages: It lets you push for game a bit more easily, searches the Tenyi counter trap or Vishuda, and gets the damn token off your field so you can summon a new one.
I love that Lost Wind in all these N/R decks are religiously used. It is such an underrated card imo, even in normal constructed when ur's/sr's are available.

I made this in paper for fun (proxy heat wave of course) with some friends, it was pretty trolly. Used to use some real classics like Lose A Turn and the aforementioned Heat Wave.
I do want to add that Megalomasher doesn't lose to Tcaboo, as it's a dinosaur, and the token is a wyrm and paleos are Aqua! Mell-Knight avram is searchable in lower rarity. Unless you want to play Unexpected dai, which special summons for free, and while it is a SR, you literally get 3 copies of it in the starter deck and you can't dismantle it so it's impossible for anyone to now have it already. Nice to see you cover the deck too tho!
its better for clickbait to not play it, its also why hes not playing solemn judgment even though literally everyone has it from the bundle and no harpies feather duster. also btw i play avram with memory in my non budget build too because i play card of demise and pot of duality, great for finding pacifis and card advantage that is worth all their downsides imo, although i do agree dai is a great card if not running them
I never thought about it, but I learned that Pentestag is (likely) pronounced Pen-Test-ag because it's a reference to Pen(etration) Testing... they just couldn't resist making as many Cyberse monsters as possible Cyberspace puns

Megalosmasher X is Dinosaur. The Token is Wyrm. Paleos are Aqua. Megalosmasher X also happens to be Water for Sea Stealth Attack. I do not get how Megalosmaher X does not get around There Can Only Be One. Maybe Gozen Match tbh.

Unexpected Dai is in the Starter Deck and works really well here. So you could theoretically run it since it synergizes well with the deck. I know, I did during the Xyz Event.
All in all, Phantasmal Spiral Deck is fun, ngl. Had fun using it in the Xyz Event. But I was also running 3x Dimensional Fissure which made cards like Maxx "C" rather obsolete since you cannot use it from that point of time and beyond. And it was almost always on starting hand. Had to kick out Maxx "C" completely to be able to play something instead of drawing Dimensional Fissure and 2 Maxx "C". lol
For more monsters to consider, Kabazauls is a good pick as I have noticed. Or any other Water Normal with as high Atk as possible I guess.
Phantasm Spiral and MBT. Name a more iconic duo. I'll wait.

You can also use Sea stealth attack to get rid of your token on the opponents turn to get another search of city summoning another one
Cool deck! Was able to steal a win mainly off of all the negates
Sorry MBT but Nova says "By your opponet's card effect" so It wont actually bting out barbaros off of punishment.

Hey MBT, when he summond allister and used its effect, you could have used the effect on the continious trap the tribute your water monster to protect your backrow. And then you would get a new token on resolution and can search a card
Usually you wanna activate sea stealth in response to s/t removal since if you don't your opponent can just chain an MST to the activation and destroy Pacifis.
TT being a rare will never stop being insane to me.

Could u consider making a phantasm spiral 10 minute test? I wanna learn the deck but have a terrible time building decks. My strategy dumbs down to: 3 of every archetype card + staples until it doesn’t work anymore
Jusr reduce the number of copues that don't start your combos to 2 and those that you just want to search but never start in your opening hand with to 1. These 2 steps are a really fast way to improve your deck building in the beginning.
He has already done both a ten minute testing and a one take test on other versions of the deck. They are just a couple of years old by now so you might have to search for them in the playlist.
Faced a plat 1 phantasm player with sky strikers the other day.. It started off pretty strong, but i was using 3 MST and 3 afterburners, so the field spells could never stay around

2:47 one thing to note, megalosmasher x also gets around TCBOO, as it is a dinosaur, and pacifis token is a wyrm. I actually run TCBOO in my IRL build of the deck.
Though, I do like the idea of world legacy’s memory giving a search if your opponent doesn’t activate anything. Down side is, you can’t summon the token after using WLM. I’m definitely going to try it though

So I edited this a little with some SRs and URs I own. I tried this against my friend’s Phantom Knights deck, he didn’t manage to make rhongo but he realized too late that Utopic was worthless. He was well out of fuel before I even saw a card above R.
I could certainly feel the limitations of the deck, and certainly saw them while facing the deck in XYZ fest. However, I was pleasantly surprised by what this deck can do for what it is.
I am really looking for the potential of Pauper in Master Duel, N/R only. Really liking Heart-Earth Decks and Pendulums so far.
(in terms of budget, unexpected dai is f2p, it's in the starter deck.. and yes, i do think megalosmasher is THAT much better)

If it's N/R because of cost, Unexpected Dai is a free SR you get from the tutorial so everyone has 3 copies they can't get rid of. However, I do understand the advantage World Legacy's Memory provides. Also The Huge Revolution is Over is very useful when you don't have access to SSA's protection yet, especially since a lot of people are running mass backrow removal to deal with Eldlich.

if you have some ur dust, you can upgrade the deck with megalosmasher and fossil dig, 1-2ntss are good too

I just saw this late and this build is actually good as fuck. I kinda wanna play 1 avram and 1 memory in mine. I got a more expensive version but this list looks really good and very budget friendly. Ik you wanna keep it n/r but I still think at least 1 n’tss is mandatory but I under that you wanted to keep it budget

Is there a reason to not run 5 headed dragon instead of blue eyes ultimate in extra deck as punishment target? You get the 5k atk monster from solo mode for free
Fists of the Unrivaled Tenyi can surprise summon Blue Eyes Ultimate with it not being an effect monster; and all N/R looks better/is easier to parse than which solo mode cards are free when your opponent looks at your deck after the game

Tried this deck. One thing I seemed to notice is that it's entirely reliant on drawing your field spell so don't cheap out and get a terraforming to go with those pathfinders if you want to play this deck.

If the three I could see none let the player initiate it. Still a great card for dumping to build Naturia Exterio and other stuff.
