  • I started my locs with the interlocking method on two strand twists.
I maintain my hair my every 8 weeks (2 months) with a 2-3 point rotation and aloe vera gel.
My locs were started on 4b/4c natural hair after 5+ years of being a new natural.
    I have 149 smedium interlocks.

Your locs are beautiful and healthy looking. Some people get fine and thin hair mixed up. Fine and coarse hair are the textures meaning soft vs hard. Thin and thick are the density of hair. Density is how many hairs are on your head. Your hair is fine textured but not thin density. You might have medium density. My hair is fine textured, with thin and medium density on different parts of my hair. If I get locs I'll start them by doing two strand twists, then interlock them with the 2 point rotation like you do. I had two sets in the past and I'm getting tired of wearing crochet twists. Thanks for sharing this well informed video.

I have learned with this set that letting go and not paying attention to them. They flourished more. I rarely think about my hair. I forget when I washed it last. Haven’t obsessed over this set

My hair grows outside my locs too. I thought I was doing something wrong. I’ve had friends tell me it’s because I’m not taking care of them but I am! This has helped me a lot.

When your hair sheds new hair grows so there will always be new hair growing outside the loc because it’s a whole new strand of hair being formed.

Your hair is gorgeous!! I’m 6 weeks in my journey and the only thing that worries me is my front locs😞my grandma, mom, and my brother have a hereditary dip like you said and naturally thin hair. Ima try to retwist my own hair maybe once a month cause I think I’m twisting too tight and I don’t want to cause breakage. Wish me luck y’all😂

@@MissJeriB I cut it to like a 1.5 really low and bleached it😂😂my baby locs looked super thin and I kinda hate I didn’t give them time but second try I think I’ll go with diamond parts to help with my corners.

I needed to see this today b/c these issues have been driving me nuts this time. This is my second set of traditional locs, but I don’t recall some of these issues with the first set. The difference may be that this set has lots of gray hair which usually likes to go it’s own way. I really enjoy having them back though.

Couldn't it also be new individual hair strands that were not there when the loc was tied/retied. Maybe its your base widening?

Started my loc journey 6 wks ago and already got a Retwist. I don’t want to invest in Retwist every 4-6 wks. I was hoping more every 3-4 months. But after 3-4 days my hair comes out and starts growing out of my locs and yes I use a with wig cap and bonnets 😩 I’m completely in love with them and I don’t mind the messy locs but the hair pulling out annoys me 😩

Your locks look EXACTLY like mine! Right down to the length, ends, age and hair growing out of locks!
I have fine hair too. It’s very healthy.
You’re doing great! Don’t trim the ends unless you need to. Some of my ends separate, that’s when I trim. Other ends have sealed itself.
