Nice bike. Hell 1998 is almost under warranty. I have a '94 Road King with 67K on the speedo and never had any internal engine work. I bought it new and I'm a nerd on preventative maintenance. It will get new lifters and top end freshen up soon. When I ride it to the tavern all the hipsters think its an old bike since they all have street glides.

@@mongolsmffm4829 lmfao…I have a 97 road king but the kids usually think it’s a 2015 or newer, I am anal about keeping the ole gurl clean but I also ride the hell outta her. Only had her 2.5 seasons so far but have put about 23k on her, of course I have to share mileage with my softail, if it weren’t for that I’d have an extra 4-6 thousand total on the evo, love that ole gurl. I’ve gone through her though and did the base gaskets and freshened up the top end while I was in there. Did the lifters, new belt, swing arm bushings, motor mount, alignment, fork seals and new springs while in there, got rid of the air ride front and rear, etc etc etc. wouldn’t trade the ole girl for anything…just went up mt Washington with her a few days ago as well. Runs like a top. Good luck with yours and have fun!!!

Just bought a 1998 Fat boy with 28967 miles from original owner bone factor stock owners manual and shop manual for $3.100.00. (09-12-20) Sold both my Twin Cams I will stick with this Evo and my 72 FLH fully restored to as factor as I could except for the leather bags off my 1955 I stupidly sold in 1980 so I could buy a 1933 Harley and 48 Indian chief baskets I w rebulit and you gueesed i sold when I divorced my first wife. I miss the bike but not that wife.

Just bought a 97, 24k on it. Runs good but def will need base gaskets soon. Nature of the beast I guess.

Typical that they get oil mist outside / If replaced it will just do the same again

yep, I traded in my '92 Softail for a '97 King a couple months ago. It too has the weeping base gaskets (only the rear). I fixed them on my Softy, I guess I'll do the same to this one. But that's a small price for such a great bike. David is right, I always wait until I can feel heat through the rear rocker box before revving or riding. Lets everything get good and warmed up.

I have a 2001 Road king and a 2002 FLSTC I would trade ether one for a good Evo. I almost have a trade worked out for a cherry 1996 Softtail for my 2020 FLSTC even up but the guy had another buyer ahead of me and he bought it. We were both bummed since he was just looking to make money he was not interested in the bikes.
