@@JumboPixel I've seen many people prefer Civ V over Civ VI online. As for me, I can only comment on Civ 5 because that's the only that I played and still am playing.

You should pillage on offense too. Running Calvary, tanks, helicopters, etc ahead of your attack force deep into enemy territory you can pillage luxury resources to cause unhappiness spikes, pillaging iron/oil will weaken enemy troops, pillaging uranium keeps them from building nukes, pillaging trade routes yields huge gold, and pillaging railroads reduces production. If you find a fork in a railroad or the meaty trunk at the root of a railroad network connecting to the capital, you can cut the production of their entire empire by 25% in one attack that heals your unit and gives you gold.
I'm a massive Civ5 fan, playing it for almost a decade. I've had a long vacation from the game though and when I returned recently, i found myself weak and losing. Those tutorials help me regain my lost skills, so TYSM
Also - if you hold a city you know you're going to loose, find the most expensive building and sell it before it is lost! - not sure if you covered that point.
Been playing Civ V with friends of late (we’ll add in an AI or 2 to shake things up a little), so it’s nice having modern vids to check out and make sure I understand how the game runs on a deeper level ^.^
Thank you for this. I've been playing Civ 5 for years and had no idea that the citadel actually did damage to enemy troops. I pretty much always used it to expand borders... I guess I figured any damage it did was due to me repelling an attack near it.
My first ever attempt at a domination victory ended with the citadel exploit. I had a single cub left and like 10 great generals. I had so many I just placed a citadel near my land and took some of his. I ended up training up a settler and taking it right up to his capital and spammed the citadels so the only land his capital had left was the city. That mechanic is so broken.
I play civV for 3 months now, still leaning the game. This is very helpful. I didn’t know the citadel are a bit overpowered. Do they also work when attacking navel units?
I don[t think your peace deal was real. I think you just screenshot the offer, but not his agreement. I've NEVER been able to get gold from a peace deal, even when devastating the other civ.
I wish the AI were this easy on me. I razed two of his cities to the ground and they're still offering peace on the condition that I give up two cities...
Dude you played this defense like shid. Basically let the enemy destroy units needlessly, left trebuchets undefended, and wasted promotions. You can out a citadel 1 tile outside your own territory, even if that's in enemy territory. Not a great tutorial if you're missing key important components.

How are you moving your units so far around 7:40
They're likely mounted units, potentially promoted with extra movement, and they're walking partly along roads which speed the up as well!
