The problem with the T34-85M is the matchmaking. I mostly get matched with Tier 7 and Tier 8 tanks, which makes it a lot less fun to play. Trying to pen Tier 8 heavies with a Tier 6 medium is just no fun at all.
Claus for the mission of killing other tanks your criteria of using damage done is spot-on for determining the best, but I'd like to see a similar series for scout tanks -- the ones that don't necessarily do a lot of damage.
T3485M is basically the T6 Chieftain. good all around but a monster in the right hands. People often forget that the willingness to spend extra credits on consumables like food and having a good crew will multiply those small advantages in the stats.
It's $13, so not exactly a gold tank. I do not have the time to grind games any more, so I bought it, and have a good crew in it. End game is where this tank can really shine.

Well, they gave it away for free and many people has it. It's pretty good and it's a premium. So many people play it. I mean it's right about on same par with the other tanks lie the normal branch t3485 or Rudy. I mean that about 1-2 second faster reload is not that important in practice. It's not like you can just sit and shoot as fast as you can all match. And that hull armor helps some times but not as much as you would believe. I like my Rudy withing the limits of liking the game of course but i don't think i would like the t3485m more. So the situation may be like i had a Jumbo and i sold it long ago when i was farming those US lines, i remember having it because it was branching in to HT and MT. Bu now i don't play it. But if i want to play a tier 6 US MT i have the Thunderbolt. So there is a reason for why Thunderbolt was a surprise.
Main advantage of the m version over the T-34-85 being the better armor. I have been one-shotted by KV-2s, SU-152s, or arty's way too many times playing my T-34-85.
Hi Claus, i love to watch the most broken series ! I think that the T34-85M has now a new worthy opponent to the title of most broken medium at tier 6 and its the new polish tank B.U.G.I with the derp gun:)
T34-85M has special RNG too, as a 52% player I have 67%winrate in it! Only mediocre games, no high damage at all. My 2nd best tank comes nowhere near it... Very strange.

Damn i dont have this beast, but its a marvelous one, on a rental i had Mastery badge on the first battle, but i think the similar ones like the normal T3485 and the Type 58 are pretty good same tier substitutes
I owned a T-34-85M before they became cool. A few years ago, it was only just playable. Then, WG buffed the ammo before the "giveaway" and now it's competitive.
The best tier 6 med tanks are the following, T-34-85, cromwell, M4A3E2. The 85M plays the same and I honistly dont notice any difference between the 85M and 85 because i do the same damage in both which is 1,600 to 2,300. The armor isn't anything special tbh.
My T34-85M's gunner have an alcohol problem. That poor VK. I feel for him. That thing has been nerfed back into the past millenieum. VK used to be able to spar with the 85M. No more. Also see the 85M was trolled by that one HE round. I don't bother loading HE anymore for Arta. Have been trolled too many times.

New patch went live today on the EU servers, all tanks have had equipment taken from them, you have to pay to get your kit back. They have also taken lots of premium ammo as well. Of course WG would like you to put it back on but at vastly inflated prices. In any other online context that would be deemed theft.
Yeah noticed that, and... (Russian Refunds for selling the equip that were on vehicles that they de-mounted and stuffed into Depot without asking) IMO, should get back what spent for the "discontinued" org. stuff instead of 2/3, eh?

Great tank, the M4A3E2 blocks a lot of shots, but not when facing a T 34-85M. This tank is one of the best tanks in the game, on par with the object whatevers. Gun depression is not great but better than most Russian tanks.
Honestly, there's better tanks than the t-34-85m, more specifically the Sherman jumbo with stock turret/derp gun(although bad view range) or the vk 30.02m which is soooooo good for its tier.
I use the VK-M in Strongholds and literally have a 9% win ratio--with 940 HP it literally can take a hit from most tanks and still have the same HP as a cromwell or t34 and if you get shot--you usually can get a shot off and the 75 MM gun with gold fires faster and pens better then the t35-85ms gun
Mine don't hit that often. And likes to miss crucial shots... and for crying out loud I've bought these pixels :( and they gave it away for free less than a month after...
The reload time and accuracy... Russian for sure... Cromwell s guns are bad in a way, 10s to aim and less dmg (normal caliber is lower) but accuracy, come on, aim time is so bad..
I had this tank when everyone asked what the f is a 85m used to catch auto aimers, had worse gun then other 85s at first Iess alfa higher rate when it got buffed they messed up and kept same rate of fire. So they just gave them away people who had it got silver yeah another shit on my money story
Claus, wot fucked me with 1.10! When I started the game on patch 1.10, 8 of my tanks were missing the binocs. I contacted wot and they claim the tanks didn't have binocs, they are just flat out lying. Not playing wot til they correct this situation and return what they stole.
Stats are bullshit, its top because everyone has one, if you gave everyone a KV-2 the top spots would be that, every referral seems to have this tank included

Thats why this tank is so high up in any statistic. This tank is mainly played by good players, thats why the tank seem good in the statistics. bad players rarly by a tier 6 premium, why would they. Just like the player in this video was very good. He would have had the same result in any other Tier 6 Medium tank. Just a good player clapping noobs. If a noob plays this tank, he just gets killed without doing anything. Because this tank has nothing superior to it. It has good armor, but not too good. A decent gun, which lags penetration, as soon as it is matched against tier 7. Decent mobility and a very good view range. But it is not like a defender that cant be hit. Only in the hands of very good players this tank is strong. Otherwise it is just average.

He should have gone to the rocks in the middle, there he could have supported his team-mates instead of using them to get more dmg. I hate those kindof players because while I am trying my best in one flank they just let you die and watch you die, not cool.

I still believe thunderbolt is a better tank. Never have problem kill a 84 M with my thunderbolt. Kv2 is another story tho
I play a thunderbolt also an you need to pen the kv2 right on sides or rear of that big block turret,never have a problem there myself

Well there was a screw up in the "most assistance" list, because there was a Crusader which is a tier 6 light tank nowadays (used to be tier 5 medium)
