The fact that you can swap out Casey's head for a skull reminds me of a flaming skull that came with my Marvel Legends Magik figure. There's a socket in the flaming skull that's just the right size to fit over the ball joint for Magik's head.
I can't wait to get this one! I've seen The Phantom of the Opera live twice and Casey Jones has been my favourite TMNT character dating back to 1985! ;) As for the Skull head, it's because during The Phantom of the Opera, in the coolest scene in it, The Phantom crashes a party dressed as The Masque of the Red Death, complete with skull mask. It's too bad they didn't include a red cape or hat to go with the skull, but that's why it's there. Oh, and the same can be said about why his regular mask is glossy, since The Phantom's mask usually looks like it's made of porcelain or something. ;) My wife said that it looks like Casey's wearing Darth Vader's black undersuit. ;) Thanks to you showing me this figure, I now have Franken Raph and Mummy Mike and I had previously been able to avoid collecting these, but seeing a Phantom Casey existed, that's all I needed to push me down the path of collecting them. And, dang! Your custom Leo looks exactly like the box art, now!!! ^_^
Pshh! I've seen Phantom of the Opera hundreds ..maybe thousands of times! But thats only if you count pictures, clips, parodies, commercials, ect. Never seen it anywhere in full. So had no idea there was a skull mask scene. Why don't they ever reference that scene?! I did know that Phantom's mask was porcelain or porcelain looking but just like hockey masks are shiny when clean, dirty porcelain I would expect to be not shiny. Also I wouldn't recommend wearing a porcelain mask to play hockey in! Lol I put the flat clear coat on it already and like it much better. And painted the eyes on the broken mask head to look like the eyes of the other head. Not sure if I'll make a cape. Phantom wears a cape but I like this figure without one. And now you are hooked on another line! It's probably good I told you because you know if I hadn't shown you the Casey, you'd still eventually see it and want it. And the longer you wait, the harder it may be to get past figures! Lol
