Ok. I see its 9 years later that i watch this vid. And because of it i just got me a second hand first edition signature RC v1, I think from 2008. Believe me I watched a lot of vids but yours convinced me, for which i thank you! I think the signature has a different low eq approach which Henderson wanted. Ready to explore :)
Yo Simon , I just love the rich clean tones you get out of the Komet and the Fender Bassman 50. It is so refreshing to see some gear demos that have great clean tones instead of just all Gain and dirt .
Great demo Simon! actually I just pre ordered the new Xotic RC-SH booster (Scott Henderson signature RC booster).. its seems they stacked the RC along with another gain knob\channel, so it sounds like the RC and AC booster together (in a way). I already have the BB preamp and the new one should wrap up the entire line for me. Really love this Xotic line. Can't wait to hear you demo it.. :)
Julien Cabanac Thank you :) Xotic effects are great. I am looking forward to the new Allen Hinds Signature pedal. The song at 6.45 is just a little track I came up with for this video, that I might finish at some point. Cheers
Thx simon ! The allen hind soul driven seems to be so tasteful...I wish we all had your demo songs on cd in a near futur ? that is the question ;) For the moment i'm looking for the extraordinary xotic guitar but there is no sellers in Europe actually. Bye !
Julien Cabanac hopefully there will be a CD in the near future....working on it :) I got my Xotic guitar through www.pedaler.eu just like the rest of my Xotic pedals
i wonder what is the difference between the RC booster vs Super Sweet. Which is better for thicken fender type of amp with single coil clean while maintaining its transparency?
Both pedals are very transparent. The Super Sweet is “only” a boost pedal and has no drive. The drive only happens if you push the input of your amp. Sounds amazing though. With the RC you have a touch of drive (and boost) and also the EQ. I would say the RC is more versatile but I personally prefer the boost of the Super Sweet into my Fender Bassman. Cheers Simon
Stan Esposito Hi Stan. I know a lot of people have this pedal on all the time. I use it a lot and I always have some pedal on, this or the Epbooster, a comp or something. But it changes a lot. I use it before other overdrives so this is like the first stage when I stack pedals. Works really good. Many guitarists prefer it last in chain always on but I have always gone from little gain boost to more gain on pedalboards. Cheers Simon
I use my RC before and after various Drive pedals. It works really well both ways. Now that I have the GigRig 2 and can program to have it before or after per patch. It is also great to use with a Strat to make it drive dirt pedals just as hard as a Les Paul does, but still sound like a Strat should .

MrDavemiley Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it. Those amps have killer clean tones, so no reason not to use them :) Cheers
i love those kind of pedals when turned on they bring a nice subtle upgrade first but it makes the whole sound chain sounds so much better!
Right on the money. I totally agree....it is these pedals that make a good pedalboard great
Simon Gotthelf Gear Demos yeah, by the way I like your strats quite a lot too ;)
The old one? My first "Real"strat that I have had for more than 20 years. It has saved me on a lot of gigs. It always works
i like both of your strats, i'm a strat guy too, the Xotic pickups sound really good too.
Your demos, and your tone (and playing) are consistently great!!
Bob Mac Thank you 😊 your support is awesome 🙏
Wow, lovely playing!
Thank you very much. Old video but still a great pedal. Cheers Simon
amigo, tu tienes un sonido muy particular tocando la guitarra. Escucharte es un placer y me da ganas de ir a buscar mi guitarra a ponerme tocar!!!!
Great Playing and tone Simon, as always.. keep those demos coming :)
Beautiful tones my friend!
Thanks. My personal favorite Xotic pedal and they make a lot of great stuff
Nice tones!
Thanks

Thanks Joel. I will demo the new RC-SH as soon as it arrives, next week I believe. I am really looking forward to it too. It must be great. Cheers
Lovely playing 👌🏼👌🏼
Florencio Hendrricks hammu Thank you Florencio
Wow! Overdue, but beaut noodling.
Perfect as always. 😆
What pickups are in the Strat ? Still Xotic 60's ? They sound fabulous.
MrWolf5150 Thanks MrWolf :-)
The white Rahbek has Lollar blackface pickups and my old fender strat has the great Raw Vintage 60s
Simon Gotthelf Gear Demos Those Xotic 60's sound fantastic but I've just looked them up and they're ridiculously expensive. Shame
I know they are. But they sure sound great
Such a great demo and tone ! i have all the xotic effects, they are amazing. What is the song at 06.45 ? one of your tune ? Greetings from france.
Julien Cabanac Thank you :) Xotic effects are great. I am looking forward to the new Allen Hinds Signature pedal. The song at 6.45 is just a little track I came up with for this video, that I might finish at some point. Cheers

Thx for the site pedaler.eu i will check this ! See ya :)
great tone, just curious what picks and string gauge do you use, such an important and overlooked part of tone!
Thanks, I am using 10-42 strings and 0,70 dunlup. Pretty standard, but that has been my setup since for ever

@@SimonGotthelfMusic in term of sound, can I really say that the super sweet is sweeter than the RC? for clean boost. i use Bassman head myself. 👍🏼
@@aizat3736 I don’t think you can say that. For clean boost both are really good.
Do you leave this on all the time, and is best before or after overdrives?
