- Why is Jerry Seinfeld so funny?
He’s the co-creator and co-writer of the eponymous smash hit, Seinfeld, which is claimed to have the “Top TV Episode of All-Time” as rated by TV Guide. He made $267 million dollars in 1998 (a Guinness world record) and 10 years later, was still pulling in a cool $85 million per year, just in royalties.
By almost any measure of wealth, popularity, and critical acclaim, Jerry Seinfeld is among the most successful comedians of his generation. And nearly all of it rests on one simple thing: his ability to write a joke. So how exactly does he do it?

I once trained with an Insurance Company where there was an incredibly successful agent that made enormous amounts of money each MONTH. Everybody wanted to know how he did it. When the boss revealed the secret at the end of training. Everyone was suprised, but did not have the resolve to actually do it. Most time it's not the process, but your RESOLVE to actually carry it through.😎

I used to write this way. I don't know what happened. But for a while now, the editor/sonovabitch has been sitting there next to me every time I write, standing on the hose.

i disagree . it's not the joke that is funny but the person delivering the joke.
the best comedians of all time all have one similar talent . they can make you laugh just by looking at you .
This is true but, like a lot of Seinfeld's outlook on success, it is not peculiar to comedy. "Write first, edit second" holds as much for a college midterm paper, a scientific article, a poem, a music composition, a computer program, as it does for stand-up.
Damn, is so weird to see David Lynch laugh
I admire his work ethic but I don't find him funny.
