So I counted 4 of these facilities so far. Atleast that I know of. I'm pretty sure we'll be hearing about more. And depending on how I feel any given day I might like living in such a complex on and off, but for the most part give me a country home 😊

I noticed the CONS you mentioned were stronger than the PROS. Lol😂 I still prefer to live in my own yard space with single family dwelling.

Any type of living situation will have pros and cons. It really comes down to your personality and the quality of life you want at home.
I can say living in NYC this concept is embedded in the city and it really comes down to the company that manages these properties and that will affect the overall living experience.
While there are companies that are excellent in maintaining the building and it's facilities and provide security to keep the area safe, there are others that don't care and that bring a host of problems.
    ....
I just hope that these facilities that are planned for Montego Bay are affordable enough where Jamaicans aren't priced out where the units are mainly affordable to expats and Jamaicans living overseas.

Thanks for joining the conversation. Re affordability of the units... I really doubt it for most of them atleast 😕. But we will see.

I think it's exciting to see old and abandoned plots of land in the city turned into something aesthetically pleasing. But proper roadworks would have to be built up for the increase in traffic.

Will try for you. If memory serves me correct, they're up on a hill with a security post at the entrance. But I will see If I can get in touch.

The pros and cons of this are dependent on each person and the overall development circumstances. Not everyone drives or can drive, so having shops and other businesses in close proximity is really helpful. Not everyone can stand noise or the closed spaces, so that might make living in such a development uncomfortable, but it might be acceptable for some. The costs of living might be too much for some, or reasonable for others.
And there are also the environmental factors, such as urban sprawl and pollution from commuting that these mixed-use developments can in theory help to mitigate.
Also cities like Montego Bay and Kingston will eventually run out of room to expand horizontally, so I'd argue that vertical mixed-use developments are inevitable anyway.

To me they are not new- I mean, look at London, or NYC or most cities where so many businesses are on first floor and then apartments are above these businesses.. rich people usually buying top floors with private elevators.. but, factories do not usually work in these.. I know that in London you currently have several lawsuits from yuppies who apparently did not care that businesses like bars or butchers etc were in place for ages before they purchased their apartments but now are complaining about the noise.. I even saw a lawsuit trying to force the trains to run quieter at certain times, and another suing the Heathrow Airport for jet noises..
Sorry but, businesses were usually first. The butcher shop in west London being sued- was in the same spot since 1634..

Most of the footage is in MONTEGO BAY!!!!
When talking about the Hip strip development I showed the area it will be built, for the Racquet club I showed the articles talking about it, for the Pinnacle I showed their website on the screen. For Harbour City Shopping Center I showed that construction. All of this until we got to advantages and disadvantages of mixed use facilities where I still showed Montego bay until talking about the conveniences of mixed use facilities. Which at that point I can show any footage to give an example since I'm not talking about Montego Bay in particular but mixed use properties in general and none of the facilities are finished yet. PLUS Yuh think yuh a pay mi fi guh record Jamaicans in a Cafe and in a Mall. Yuh a tek cuss and lik fi mi? Yuh a pay fee fi me use people picture? Your entitlement is priceless. Should have just put a blank screen up to suit you 🤨.
