need a winch installed factory to go in the mud, always weird to have a mud machine without winch

What’s unfortunate is that for that same price just a few years ago would get you big bore 650-850 can ams so the consumer is actually getting less… sad day when an atv will be 20-30k
I’m not sure a 650 based xmr was ever that cheap but I could be wrong. It’s close in price to the old 570xmr which has always been in this price range (actually a bit cheaper). But inflation hits all things so relatively speaking this is still a deal.
I’ve owned both a 570/850/and this 700 (all XMR) and I can say that this machines ergonomics, ride quality, and handling are all far superior to the older machines. This engine feels just as strong as the 650v-twin. If the fit and finish/quality control was better. I’d say it was the best value out of the 3 I’ve had.

I had an 850HL and ehile its a great mudder, i have to say, ive had more fun on big singles set up for mudding because it takes some skill and body language to get through. Making it more fun. When i had the HL, 1/10 mud holes required effort.
Lastly, going full tilt in mud holes just beats the snot out of the trails. And in my experience, the mudders NEVER come out for trail maintenance rides.
So a big single that takes skill, this is something id be more interested in for fun, and not destroying trails just because you have stupid power.
Will you do a video on the level of difficulty on maintainence of one of these units?

My brother purchased one last sept so i had a few spins on this beast.Power is just as good as a Grizz 700(more like the 708cc then the 686cc,very smooth).Feels pretty light/balanced for a 900lbs plus quad(use to lightweight hondas😄).Great ergos and handlebar bend.Powersteering is really good and the modes are nice.Drive by wire feels very natural.Ride is really nice for a mud tire quad(Demo a Grizz SE(mudzillas) once and the ride was way rougher than the standard tire model).The frame is way over built,makes it pretty responsive with all that shock travel.Fuel economy seems pretty decent buts its no Honda.Negatives are motors mounts are a little lose,water pump seal had to be replaced(both common issues).And the price was near $20000 CDN out the door with a 3 year warranty😮. In the mud its got loads of power to spin those swamp king tires and will fly across muddy bogs,wet marshes,etc that will stop any other quad.

another great video. Would love to see another comparing the XT / Pro Hunting / and XMR. I personally want to know trail riding manners and differences between them . Sitting on them in a showroom and even making some circles at a dealer just isn't giving me clear picture of the machine. And they don't have the Smart lok on XT, which is a shame. Anyways keep the content coming and hopefully Can Am expands this 700 line up . hint hint XT-P max

I got one it huals my 300 pound a** Just fine through deep mud no Getting stuck so far in thick wet mud Power is very very good And so is the power steering picked up a little bit more power Taking off the spark arrester and switching to non ethanol Recreation gas
It really woke this unit up big time u Can go really deep in water & mud Only negative is It has a lot of nooks and crannies that get mud in them.Takes a good hour to clean everything after a long ride in the mud But everything is easily accessible

I am curious if the fuel gauge on the new BRP Can-AM’s that you test function correctly. I am the disappointed owner of a 2023 Can-Am Outlander 850 MAX XTP purchased new in June 2023. Within the first day, 30 km of riding, the fuel gauge has been erratic. Fluctuating between full, flashing empty and everything in between. Four months have passed and with weekly communications with BRP and my dealer they have not resolved the issue. All I get from BRP is “ We are working with your dealer to solve this issue. We advise you to stay in contact with your dealer” My dealer says “ We are just BRP representatives and can’t do anything until given direction from CAN-AM“
Very frustrating when I have spent $25,000. on a new machine with a latent defect, supposedly with a 6 month warranty now nearing expiration. I feel like I am being stone walled while they runout the warranty period.
Do you know if the clutching for the 700 XMR is the same as the base and XT?
I'm not a mudder, but do like the OEM snorkel and high mount rad: Local trails are unpredictable for water depth and we usually have some soup to get through to get to some good fun and fast hard pack, for which I'd be putting a trail focused 26" for.
I’m sure you wouldn’t complain about high end models costing an outrageous amount when u get em free. I wouldn’t either lol

I love that 650 V-twin. One of my favourite engines with lots of power and it's a great riding ATV. If I was budgeting though and was looking for a mid bore single, I'd look at the new 700.
They may say 28 on em, but are they really 28"?
Can-Am has a bad rep for having their tires be as much as 2" smaller.
The Kryptids are 2" smaller, but oddly if you buy an OEM kryptid they measure true.
If its 650cc then why bother calling it a 700cc
13,000 here in Canada plus tax, freight and pdi rolls in around 16-17 grand for a single cylinder. Yea what a steal.
Prices are crazy but It's still the best deal for a new mud-specific ATV.

Love these videos! I'm debating chosing between the xxc and xmr version of the renegade. I mostly do trail riding and ocasional mudding but I do appreciate the bumpers, the visko lok frontdiff and the snorkel of the XMR way more, my only setback is the QS3 shocks on the xmr compared to the RC2 on the xxc. Is it a major difference between the two suspensions?
If you're a trail guy, I think you'd love the xxc and would probably choose to ride trails more often.

I am indeed more of a trail guy rather than a deep mud rider, it stays dry through out the summer however in the fall and winter it gets really muddy here and I thought the visco-4lok would come in handy in some situations. I haven't seen lots of videos with the XXC doing some mudding.
@@alexx_97 Personally I would be willing to sacrifice a little mud performance to have the outstanding trail performance. It would probably inspire me to just ride more trails.
@@dirttraxtv Do you happend to know why the 23` renegade models are almost 40kg heavier than the 22` ones? Is this due to the new adjustable engine braking feature?
@@alexx_97 That's a pretty significant weight difference. I'm guessing it would have to be a result of any updates. I would have to look more closely at a comparison of these two machines and their features to provide a more accurate response.
You would think that the motor would make more horse power because my Polaris 570 makes 50

Yamaha grizzly well still be alive in 10years of hard abuse. Plus its very simple technology. No fancy computer stuff that needs dealer service.
I ride an 02 Yamaha Bear tracker. 250cc carbureted solid rear axle. And I just rebuilt the entire top end of the motor valves piston valve springs timing chain timing chain guides. About $700 in parts there's a few other miscellaneous things I fixed. Swapped out the rear diff fluid. And I'm good to go for another 22 years. My grandfather has a Kodiak 400 from 2000 that he bought with a bonus check for three grand about $3,300 out the door that he still has up at The hunting Club he is a part of in upstate New York. You don't see too many older polarises and Can-Ams on the trails let alone 25-year-old Polarises. People give Yamaha a tough time for being simple but simplicity is what keeps them running. These 1000cc ATVs are just Overkill. I wish they'd bring out a modern-day bear tracker independent front suspension instead of McPherson struts EFI power steering independent rear suspension or solid rear axle I haven't decided yet maybe make both and depending on your use case you buy the one you want. And 4x4 with diff lock. And make the rear differential have like a turf mode like a rear differential like a car so when you're turning the inside wheel doesn't have to rotate at the same rate as the outside wheel so you don't mess up the grass in your yard or farm field. 40 to 45 mph is perfectly adequate I don't need a four-wheeler that goes 95 mph if I wanted one of those I'd get a raptor 700R.
Based on the video it looks like it holds its own on the trail. Any issues taking ut on actual trail rides that dont include mud/ water?

The tires aren't bad on trails and they aren't exceptional in the mud. They're a decent entry-level mudder tire. Good and good in both.
I agree with the top if the line new stuff having a premium price, but explain to me how the Polaris tourings 850/1000 went up $3500 CAD this year?
The plastics have been in production from at least 09, so nearing 15 years!!!
Is the production costs of thise arched a-arms this year $3500?
Theyve even dropped damn near every accessory for a design that has 15 years of owners.
Not to be pissy, but damn Polaris, no small storgage, no seat delete, no passenger hand warmers, no small storage box, etc etc etc.
But hey, lets raise that price by 24%
I love my Polaris, but apparently Polaris doesnt want my money in accessories.
And to add, the price of this being $12,600, it's reasonable. But I paid $12,600 for my HL 850 but.... Again, Polaris and their crack pipes are charging $16,200 only 2 years later for again, a machine that has plastics 15 years old. Nothing new, nothing high tech. And they still don't include a winch. So maybe the HL models are an even better example, because the only upgrade they've seen is getting the current display pod, which has also been around forever on the other models.

Yea I’m not sold by any means….a single cyl listed as a 700 but really a 650 and has less hp than the twin 650 has less options than previous generations (winch) and cost nearly as much as past models.

you don't save 2k and you won't be able to get a warranty.
